I have had this item for a few years now. Pro Tip (1) If you are not using a pasta flour to make your noodles, I.E. AP flour always add gluten otherwise the noodles will not hold together, and you won't get that nice pasta mouth feel you are accustomed to with normal noodles. I add 1 to 1.5 tsp of gluten add in when I make a 2 cup batch. Pro Tip (2) noodles are ugly at the start and end of the run. I put the pressed noodles right back in until they start looking good. When the run is at the end and the noodles start to look funny I turn it off and discard. You will waste about a 1\4 cup of product but noodles will have much better consistency. for easy cleaup; use sink brush to get most flour and pasta from machine attachments BEFORE you touch it with water. Water will make harder to get out in my opinion.
Years ago I made spaghetti and used BREAD flour. My brother just got a pasta machine and told me he used semolina flour. So tonight I ordered this kind of machine from Amazon. There is pastry flour, from what was called “soft wheat”, bread flour, from what used to be called “hard wheat”, and All Purpose flour, I was told, is a blend of the two. Pastry or all purpose works very well with cookies, muffins, cakes, biscuits, pie crust, etc, but for bread and noodles you need bread flour, which in the UK is often called “Strong” flour.
Congrats! Great Demo on the Philips 2378 Pasta Machine….Just purchased and so far enjoying it….Made Lasagna Noodles and found that if you press them and stretch them a little with hands, they become flatter and resemble the Store Purchased ones….Anyway enjoyed your thorough tutorial on this Philips Pasta Machine Model….Grazie!!!
Thank you for this video, I am THINKING of buying this machine and don't want to make a mistake. The reviews seem to be very good and your video leaves almost no question open!!
@@LazyAwesomeDad it was restaurant quality pasta! Honestly it takes longer to boil the water than to make pasta. Frequently knock up mushroom ravioli for lunch because it’s not even a chore :)
Thank you as this has been very helpful, especially showing the one disc that goes into the other as I haven't seen that explained on the instructions or recipe booklet, or perhaps I overlooked it several times. Blessings to you! 😊
Awesome video! I was on the fence on getting this Phillips or just a traditional pasta maker like the Atlas 150, but this doesn’t seem that bad to use overall. Cleaning seems to be a bit involved but it could be worse.
Great demonstration, would you highly recommend, or kinda recommend...thinking about the gormia and Marcato machines. How satisfying for the quality and PRICE..? 💛👍👍
Wow thank you for this video! I just bought this and I needed to see the functionality of it. I appreciate you. All the pastas look great! #newsubscriber
Once the shapes come out, does the dough not stick together again? Or does it separate nicely once you start boiling? Or do you flour it once you gather it? Just curious as it's not shown in video. Thank you!
Can you use the machine manually without using the scale? I read a review where someone mentioned they couldn't use the machine manually without the auto scale.
I think you can put til 3 cups of flour right? Seem you can make like 6 to 8 portion of pasta out of it, the penne is more like rigatoni. Thank you for show it, I think is not worth for me this one i need bigger one
That cleaning process seems like a pain.. could you just leave the extruder bits to soak in a bowl of hot water and hope most of the pasta falls off with a bit of a scrub?
Hi Lawrence, thanks subscribing and watching. Did not know that the pasta and noodle makers are no longer available in Malaysia and Singapore. Hope this will change at some point.
Why do such horrendous audio? Really? What makes you think people want to hear parts clattering on a bench or the thuds and slops and drips of ingredients? I am so sick to death of thinking a video might be interesting and instead having my ears traumatised by exaggerated kitchen noises.
So sorry Monique. I am just a lazy dad and not a professional film maker. Hopefully you did not watch to the end and wasted too much of your precious time. Have a lovely weekend.
@@LazyAwesomeDad no I didn’t watch to the end. I couldn’t. It’s not about wasting time. I’ve got nothing but time. I have a chronic illness and need to rest a lot, so RUclips fills that time and at least I’m learning things rather than watching mind numbing tv. I’ve got plenty of time. But I also have really sensitive ears, and those exaggerated kitchen noises cause ear pain. You actually have a lot of content that I would like to watch, because effort saving gadgets and machines are a huge help for someone who is ill and wants to eat well and cook from scratch to avoid additives etc, but it’s just too painful. If videos just had asmr in the title, I would know to stay away, but so many people don’t bother to do that. Stupid really because there are weird people out there who seek that crap out, so you’d get more views if you advertised it. Or you could just mute your audio and put some background music in so you don’t cause people pain. Unless you don’t care that after listening to that for about a minute and a half, I now feel like I have a chef’s knife shoved into my right ear and every time there’s an external noise, the knife twists. It will remain there now for at least 5 or 6 hours, after a minute and a half of video. If I’d pushed on and watched the whole thing, it would be there for 3 days. Now yes, most people watching RUclips don’t have ear issues like mine, but I’m not the only one out there either. I’m just fed up enough to finally say something.

How many cups is the jug? Also is the ratio 2 to 1? flour : liquid?
Which machine is better?

i mixed semolina flour with AP since there r gluten in there. Ratio 45:55. good mix!

Absolutely LOVE my machine! I got the one with 8 disks and bought an additional 4. Can't wait to try all 12 different shapes!
Which disc would you recommend as a must have?

Glad it helped - what is your go to type pasta/noodle?
My go to is spaghetti. I'd really like to try ramen!
Always add a little bit of olive oil to the egg and water mixture. This will add in a more silk extrusion of the pasta.
Good advice. Thank you.
I just watch a video where the guy adds a little salt to the egg water mixture
Gotta admit…. Watching you do the washing up, was the best part. (Insert satisfied growl here😉💋)
Glad you enjoyed 😬
Great presentation 👍
Cheers! 👍
Just cleaning mine before use...... great video.. 👍
How is your unit going after a year?
Very impressed and thank you for your great demonstration.

Thanks for the video! Overall it seems a quite good piece, just not so sure about the lasagna sheets. What do you say?
I love it …… not the prettiest sheet of lasagna but does the job
cool video!
Wow it looks super quick to mix and extrude! Would you say different models extrude at a slower speed?
Yes …. Compared to the compact model, this unit is faster
It is just fantastic. I love to make fresh Pasta with adding my own choice of ingredients. For clean people, Regular cleaning is not any issue.
I totally agree!
HELPFUL video...many thanks. Does anyone know what sizes are these cups? How many eggs and water for 2 Cups of flour?
Thanks for Reviewing 🍀

Check if there is a Philips rep in your country or Amazon?
Can you use the machine manually without using the scale? I read a review where someone mentioned they couldn't use the machine manually without the auto scale.
This unit do not have a scale. I used the measuring cups
i have the item H 2375 /15 , the rotation, and extrusion speed slow down, even the noodles come out , in very slow rate ....what shall I do
Make sure your measurements are precise .... not enough or too much liquid could affect the extrusion rate
That seems awesome. I’m just wondering if it is possible to make puff pastries or croissant using this?
Thanks for watching. I have not tried but would not think so.
hello! what if I want to make ravioli, can it produce a nice long thin shape..?
Yes you can …. You just cut it to desired length
So would you still recommend this machine after 6 months of use
Yes and still running great after a year though I use it less often
I think you can put til 3 cups of flour right?
Seem you can make like 6 to 8 portion of pasta out of it, the penne is more like rigatoni. Thank you for show it, I think is not worth for me this one i need bigger one
You can use up to 500g of flour. Also, you could EASILY do another run immediately following the first - it literally only takes 3 mins to mix.
does one of the discs come with 2 parts for one disc? i think i lost a piece that fits into another disc?
can we make noodles from whole wheat floor without adding extra gluten
can you make China thin Noodle with Tapioka Flour?
I have not tried but have seen others on YT making them. What is your go to type pasta/noodle?
When the machine extrude the pasta, do you have to let the pasta dry ? Or can you cook it as soon as it’s out the machine ?
Cook it right out of the machine cook it at a slow boil
You can cook straight and it cooks faster in about 4 minutes
How’d it taste?? Hi 👋🏻 from a new friend
Fresh pasta are always great.
Guys and girls ... go check this channel .... great contents
