Bo Diddly is in the "Bad to the Bone " George Throughgood video. He always had that rectangle guitar. Watch that video, he is so cool . His first guitar was some wires he nailed to his house!
Bo Diddley is definitely one of the OGs of rock n roll. He's right up there with Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley when it comes to blazing the rock n roll trail. Great reaction.
Saw him play a small-town casino show in March 2007, a couple of months before he had a stroke. He had a pickup band that seemed very pleased with themselves but didn't really seem to know the songs all that well. Only the drummer had played with him before. Bo was very sick that cold, cold night, sounded like he had at the very least pneumonia, maybe worse, and I had the thought that he might literally die in front of my eyes. The band did him no favors, there was an embarrassing attempt at comedy with a local girl as a would-be comic foil, and before he started, he mentioned he was ill and that the show would be "good, but not as good as it could be." With all those people around, I've never seen a performer as totally alone as he seemed to be. But the man could still play. He started off with straight-up Muddy Waters-style blues, and carried on into his own songs, and rose above the shabby band behind him. He hammered away on that big red box of a guitar and you got it, that shimmering, metallic rhythm that hadn't aged a day, and the voice was fine. It ended with Bo grabbing a pair of mallets and joining the drummer in driving that Bo beat, that trademark sound that had helped change the world over fifty years earlier, and for a few moments defied age, illness and the circumstances of an end-stage career. For all the evening's contradictions, I had seen a legend, one of the originators of a sound that shook the globe, and I felt honored to have been in the same room.
Use to live in Gainesville Florida the instrument store had one of his square guitars on the wall…he was a legend of the area. He actually died outside of Gainesville in a mobile home which is kinda sad. Knew a guy who was friends with him and he told me in the mobile home he had old ass pictures on the walls which put up with push pins…this guy went out a bought a bunch of frames and put up the old pics properly 😊
Really enjoyed it! This video was record a while ago and only now got the chance to post it. I reacted to all songs on the first Rolling Stones album on Patreon. Looking forward to discover more!
The Beatles and The Stones always recognized the musical contributions of Black American artists to the beginnings of Rock and Roll......which was not the case in America.

Buddy Holly used this for Not Fade Away, is almost an exact copy.
Bo knows..............if you know you know.
I’ve never heard of this song by Bo Dudley but awesome job🎉
There were 3 songs on the Stones 1st LP they wrote. 2 were group compositions under an alias. "Tell Me" named Mick & Keith as writers.
