The song is about the Vikings... I cone from the land of the Ice and Snow where the hot winds blow... thus is Iceland where they have volcanoes and snow right near each other...
The song is about the viking invasion of the British isles from about 790 ad. all the references - valhalla , hammer of the gods , the land of ice and snow where the hot springs flow , we are your overlords , tales of gore and so on refer to that. the song has been used in a Thor film , school of Rock (jack Black is a big fan) and also one of the Shrek movies - princess Fiona fights to it . Led Zep had been doing concerts in Iceland and had a very enjoyable time there and Robert Plant had an interest in early British history which comes out in other songs - No quarter for example. They also reference English lit in other songs - the Lord of the Rings including Vattle of Evermore . they are intelligent men with wide ranging interests so suprising inetersting songs result.
@@RonaldJohnson-p4r yes i know i thought that was obvious . The vikings came from Scandinavian countries to the British isles and were in controlof parts of them for about 400 years.
@@RonaldJohnson-p4r I agree, it was written after (or perhaps during) a visit to Iceland. Having said that most fits not only Britain but also Ireland and elsewhere. Unwelcome immigrants, the Vikings were.
This song or at least the yell has been featured in several movies. This was written after the band were in Iceland, & the became fascinated with the Viking Invasions. My understanding they wrote it as kind of a joke, but fans love it, it opened many of their early concerts. It would get the fans excited for the rest of the concert, later their song Rock & Roll was the opener song. Thank you for your reaction, & so many more great songs to hear.

Just copied Steve Marriott from the Small faces. Plant loved Marriott. Was one of his idols. Small faces did a cover of whole lotta love in 1965. The song was written by Willie Dixon. Not Led Zepplin. Marriott blows the doors off Plant. Then listen to Tin Soldier by Small faces. Marriott was special in Humble Pie also. Songs like .."Black coffee". Zepplin had talented musicians. They also plagarized alot of songs. Dazed and Confused is another.
NIce reaction, LZ are rock gods. Still waiting for Stevie Ray Vaughn, "Texas Flood" live at El Macombo which you said you would do when you did Floyd..............

Yeah the live version from '72 (footage from Sydney, audio from Los Angeles) is superior to the studio version. So much more ballsy, with an added extended spontaneous solo etc.
@@cadifferentreactions No need to apologize, you can NEVER go wrong listening to the studio version!!! The 1972 version is great, give it a listen or better yet, you can always react to the live version!
There is NO other band like Zeppelin and no matter how many singers try NOBODY sounds like Robert Plant! This particular one, your reaction would’ve even been more interesting if you read the lyrics afterwards. Great!
In Shrek the Third this was used when the girls attacked the front gate. That's also a possibility for hearing the part you mentioned. Snow White called all the animals with a softer song, and then switched to the Immigrant Song. The animals then went after the guards. Pretty cool. Thanks for the reaction to a great song! God bless you and yours!
Jimmy Page became enamored with this band when he saw them perform; I think you two reactors might really like them plus they have a large YT following to boost your subs bigly- happens every time Band Maid- so many great songs pick any one at random but they do have a brand new drop ZEN.
A cool reaction video, how about doing a reaction video to the Irish guitar legend Rory Gallagher - Do You Read Me ( Rock Goes To College 1979 ). Rory Gallagher is considered the greatest guitarist by millions of people. His concerts were amazing with high energy and awesome guitar playing. Check it out, you won't be disappointed! You may recognize this song used in the movies "SHREK, SCHOOL OF ROCK, and THOR. This is Robert's Viking song.
I had forgotten how good this song is, amazing dynamic vocals with a crazy groove!
This song is featured twice during the Marvel movie “ Thor - Ragnarok”.

Every song is magnificent!
Led Zeppelin la Mejor Banda de todos los Tiempos...Un Abrazo desde Chile !!!

Black Sabbath,Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple the holy triad of rock music🤘
they're actually called the "unholy trinity"...although calling Deep Purple unholy is a bit of a stretch
good for you to listen to this song. Led Zeppelin III. Excellent reaction video(s).
thank you very much!
This is a very deep rabbit hole. Another band without a bad song.

🎯 This was the title song for the movie, “Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.” (Daniel Craig) It’s a must see…but that’s where you probably heard it.
Also the huge battle scene in one of the Marvel movies..yes Thor is there pretty much the whole gang.
Robert Plant has an amazing range tone & textures, he uses his amazing vocal instrument to suit every song, my opinion greatest singer ever.
❤I agree❤
The entire band!
Agree. He can change he textures , tone and depth to suit the attitude of the rythm section.
@@juliemanarin4127 yes I love each of them, the each are the greatest at their crafts, I was just commenting on Plant’s vocals.

You gotta listen to the live version of Kashmir from Celebration Day. They're much older, but the performance is amazing

if you watched Thor: Ragnarok, you heard it there. One of the few times a movie included a Led Zeppelin song.

Try Tangerine 🍊, studio version 1st.
Then Live 75' Earl's Court
Check out the live version from 1972!
The first metal song.
Lol your outfit choices are hilarious… polar opposites 😂
Find a live concert version, it will be much longer with some amazing jams.
that's a good idea
Now go watch Zeppelin----Since I've Been Loving You-----Madison Square Gardens 1973. Thats next level. Thats ten plus and then some.
We did that one just last week
To feel the energy of that song you should listen to and watch the live version.
