I agree with the comments on using correct crochet terms. If one is giving instructions then one should use the correct terms. I was taught to crochet and knit at age 11 yrs I'm now 65 and would consider myself an advanced crocheter. Your pattern is pretty.
I made one of these for my daughter and I loved how it turned out. I am doing a second one for a dear friend. I have only been crocheting for a few months but your instructions were easy to follow. I used a multicolored baby alpaca yarn the first time and am now trying a really soft cotton yarn. Thank you for sharing such a beautiful pattern and the patience and guidance in your teaching style.
I just got through reading so many negative comments. I don't mean to be arrogant, but no matter what she had on her fingers, you would understand what she was saying and doing if you are an experienced with crocheting. I f you are having troubles and you need to go back and brush up on your skills. I have been crocheting for 45 plus plus years and I know exactly what she was doing.....she is the best tutor I have found on you tube........you need to be gracious and thankful that she generously shares her skills with you. A thank you would be nice
Sally Allen Well said Sally, too many people are quick with the negative comments and too few are ready to thank the person for their time and experience on the subject. So a big Thank You to LOVE4NAILS, and Thank you Sally for your thoughtfulness. :)
I love the way you teach! There are a lot of pseudo-tutorials out there, but your work is so beautiful and so clear, that I will have my yarn and start tonight! Thank you very much!
I made this scarf for myself...so I thought...A friend came over, saw the scarf, and she fell in love with it. She has a birthday coming up within three weeks. Guess what I'm crocheting now? Yep! She's going to be pn the receiving end of this beautiful scarf! Thank you so much for your tutorial. Your instructions are wonderful. Your sweet and patient voice is so very apppreciated!
I love this stitch. I'm going to make a long scarf using this stitch and a hat to match. I hope and pray that you continue to heal and that 2018 brings you much happiness. You are such a beautiful young woman ... God Bless!
Thank you for sharing your tutorial of a beautiful scarf. Not working and having tons of yarn, I am making these scarves as Christmas gifts. I’m so sorry for the negative comments I have read. Why can’t we operate from a place of Love & Humility. I appreciate the time and effort that you put into your videos. My nails stopped growing long after my hysterectomy but I still use your tutorials to take care of and decorate my short cute nails. I pray that you and your a family stay healthy & safe during this Pandemic! Just keep doing you - and let your light shine.
im an advanced crotcheter. although im a huge fan of your nail tutorials please use proper wordage. those are hdc ( half double crotchets and you don't count the loop on the hook when chaining up.). im just saying. but cute pattern anyway
I LOVE this scarf. I have received so many compliments and requests for these! I decided to add a few chains to the beginning because there were comments that the finished scarf was too small. I found it fit perfectly! I decided to sew on the buttons and then use velcro instead of actually "buttoning" it. So far, so good with that. I have made a lot of regular scarves and infinity scarves, but this is my favorite. Yes, the way this is counted is different; but the camera work is so clear that you can get the idea and adjust the count if necessary.
Lovely lovely. I'm still working on the pattern but just wanted to mention that I think your instructions are spoken well. I am very grateful because I love this scarf.
Hi lovely nails.... I must say.... if you hadn't recorded your tutorial calling the stitches little loops I wouldn't of have learned to make this cowl so well..... you are a wonderful teacher thankyou so much for teaching everyone experienced or beginner the basics
Soooooo beautiful........ You explained every thing so well...... I made one and every body loves it........ your way of explenation is so clear and easy to follow...... NO confusion at all....... Thank You very much.
I was mesmerized by your nails too beautiful. You encouraged me to so this I am crocheting right now in a lime green wonderful stitch you guys have to try it.
Your pattern is amazing. When I'm looking to learn about new patterns, I'm also looking for someone who is gentle understood, as if I were in class..Continue your great style of teaching. ..You are fantastic. .
Love your scarf/collar and your instructions. Even though you don't say it the way I would I understand what you did and will be able to follow you very easy. Thanks for the video.
I like it when you say 3 little loops, little tails, it's very cute and I understand it all, so never mind all the comments that are annoyed, you are sweet and very beautiful, these people are just jealous of you, keep up the good work, I have been crocheting and knitting for over 65 years and my favourite that you do is your famous scarf.
Diane Reid-Lapointe jealous of her ?lol... not at all. Just letting her know she is hard to follow. Not many people have said Great things about the video
No jealousy whatsoever. But I’m reluctant to try this due to all the comments about the instructions. The stitch looked so pretty. Maybe I can find it elsewhere that gives true crochet terminology.
I also noticed that you haven't responded but no problem. If I pay attention to what you're doing instead of listening to what you're saying, I can't go wrong. When you say chain 5, I really see you doing chain 4; chain 3 is ch 2; chain 2 is ch 1; the ch 1 that you did was really a slip stitch. This is what I saw. I've been crocheting since I was 7, I'm 59 now. The pattern is lovely! Thank you for sharing!
Dawn Holmes Thank you ☺ for clarifying. Saved me a lot of frustrating time. I will not listen just watch to make this. Without your comment I would have gave up.
I choose this as my very first crochet project and totally loved the way you instructed. As a novice, it was quite easy to follow. Thank you. I am love with my neck warmer and intend to make a couple more for my sisters too.
Love, Love,Love this beautiful collar / scarf, I just started crocheting again this year after over 30 years, I've done 2 infinity scarfs, and I just finished a never ending granny square coverlet, I'm so excited and passionate about doing so many other projects, I'm tempted to start the booties that I've already made a commitment to make and also get started on this collar.Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful tutorial,
I googled a button scarf and your pattern was the first one to pop up, before all the other links.. so proud your moving up love your work and have been folllowing you for a long time... and seen you improve and to now see you listed as number one on google list that is a big pluse... congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just wanted to thank for your crochet videos , they are refreshing and VERY easy to follow. Some people are not flexible at all regarding your terminology...they are used to one way and cant adapt themself...altleast if its not their way its not good. If some people, coz they are beginners could get confused, its ok it happens mostly coz you're a beginner (and not only for this tutorial, could happen to any tutorial). Im french here the terminology is different, in uk its different in australia too. If you know how to crochet just make the effort... as long as you have a visual and good explanation, as it is here, its ok. Her voice is lovely and explanation are details, you can clearly see the stitches so her nails are no issue. Crochet people no need to be negative coz she's different, apreciate her for sharing her pattern..and smile as beautifully as her. After all its all about sharing. ;)
It's not about being inflexible or unable to adapt, it's about our hostess giving instructions incorrectly. If we were to follow her verbal instructions rather than what she actually does on screen, this lovely project would turn out to be a mess. Fortunately, like so many that have already commented, many of us are experienced yarn crafters and have been crocheting for many years, thus we are able to correct her lack of ability to instruct and still come away with the lovely project she had intended for us. The people I feel sorry for are the beginners. I always appreciate when these folks share their time and patterns with us, but I also feel they have a certain duty to their followers to teach them correctly. Not being a responsible teacher will only lead beginners to become discouraged, perhaps hindering their desire to continue learning a project that does not turn out appropriately. It's not their fault that our hostess doesn't know how to teach her craft correctly.
Artistic Auntie Bagel, Past and Present I liked how she began her chain; I’d never seen it that way. But I agree with you. verbal instructions are incorrect, regardless of the country. I’ve crocheted for 50 years so I’m very experienced. Watching the video is the only way to get the hang of what she’s doing. Beginners should NOT watch.
@@auntiebagel4788 you said that So artfully! Thank you. I felt so mean feeling 'critical' but I feel the same way. It IS important. Imagine trying to build something if you're calling a bolt a screw, or vice versa.. Or worse yet, calling either one of them a nut? I am an intermediate, working towards expert (hee hee) crocheter and I really want to make this, but I'm gonna have to turn the sound down, do my own counting and write it out using the correct terminology. That is going to take quite a while so it seems. If that's not a compliment to her project, I don't know what is? Unless you know someone else who has a tutorial of the same or very similar piece (wink)? I too feel badly for beginners, learning is frustrating enough! But then again, look how many comments claim they're beginners (1st project?) and say they had no problem... How easy it was. I'm confused there. Thanks for your clarity of our concerns for using correct terminology!
@@cubbylevi1764.... Very confusing to listen to... But I disagree in a way. You can probably follow and learn by watching only.... It's the verbal explanation that's the problem. Not good for starters or beginners. Or even intermediates like me. I'm going to have to mute this, watch every stitch and Write the pattern out using the correct counts and terminology just so I can make this beautiful item.
Beautiful scarf. In all the years of me crocheting, I've NEVER done this stitch before & I LOVE IT!! Thanks for sharing & have a wonderful Christmas Holiday. 🥰🥰♥🎄
Loved this tutorial and scarf, I know you count differently but the tutorial was very easy to follow. I am a novice at crochet and had no problem following this project. Thanks!!
Thank you for the beautiful pattern. I am a new crocheter and I was able to understand pretty much everything with the exception of doing the lace at the end around the scarf. Not sure if you go all the way around or if you stop and don't do the one end...if you could let me know that would be great, again love the scarf!!!
Why are people so negative? I love the scarf and you need to fold it to the inside in the back which she clearly shows in the picture of it! Keep going love your videos!
Your scarf is beautiful and the pattern is absolutely amazing and unique! Thank you for sharing this!!! One thing though you are not counting your "chains" or "loops" correctly and it can be very confusing, especially for beginners and newbies...just a note...but you're still great :)!
Yes! I found it to be very confusing! I have never heard anyone count the yarn on the hook as first chain before. I find it confusing and makes me hesitant to even try this scarf even though I think it is one my daughter would wear.
@@itsmelaura1533 agree, I would love to know the name of the *stitch pattern* and would look that up as her instructions are confusing. A very pretty design, though.
@@noblumoon Yes! Knowing the name of the stitch would be a big help! I would love to have a written pattern with correct terms. I think I would make this again and again. I have tried writing my own as I watch but I kept getting mixed up. I did try to follow along but still got mixed up.
Even though the crochet terminology is way off, i am a veteran so I understood your version;) I love your video and I'm thankful for this tutorial. I made a scarf for my mom and mother in law and the LOVED it. Please keep them coming girlfriend.
I love this project so I made 2 of this for me of different colors, but 72 is so small, will just give away to my petite friends. For my third one, I added 30 chains and just follow her video to avoid confusion. it turned out so nice for me. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video tutorial and pattern! I just completed this and it's my first successful project :) I can't describe how pleased I am right now. I can't wait for fall to wear this, it's beautiful!! Thanks again!
Hi. I just have to say how much i enjoy your crochet videos, you make them so easy to follow and understand. I've watched other crochet videos on youtube and find them difficult to follow, they go too fast and use crochet lingo which i find confusing. I am also useless at trying to follow a crochet pattern, (it's like trying to read music, i can't follow that either) and following what you do is so easy and simple. So thank you for doing these videos and i hope to see more in the future. x
Thank You So Much Heather for leaving me such a kind message to read. I am very grateful for having such positive wonderful viewers like you. Super Big Hugs
Gracias por compartir. I made it with pretty gold buttons and it came out lovely and so classy. Thank you your skills with beginners like me :). Blessings!
Hi! I'm starting t crochet and I love this scarf. I know the video is old, but do you remember the measurements? How many inches long and wide?I have some yarn I would like to use but is not the same thickness as yours.Thank you in advance
I have a question. If you put your crochet hook in de previous row, do you take one thread or two? Because I can't get the lines as beautiful as you have at the end. Thanks from the Netherlands.
It's a really nice pattern and though it took me a while to not get confused with he 1st chain I finished it... The only problem that the 72 chains at first were not enough so I had to do it all over again with 99 chains and I got the size I wanted for an adult woman!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
I'm so glad I read down and found this reply,!! 72 was no way near enough for me, she must have a tiny neck, haha....sad thing is I wasted all this yarm
Thank you for your tutorial. Even though some of the stitching was referred to in different terms than what I know, I was able to follow along through your tutorial demonstration. I created a thank you video (Crocheting RUclips Inspired) and I mentioned your channel. Thank you for sharing.
I love the look of this scarf and am wondering if you have written instructions so I can take my project with me? I'm not always able to have a computer with me. Thank you.
This is beautiful! And thanks for your very clear instructions! Very helpful for those of us that are just beginning and using wonderful videos, such as yours, to teach ourselves! Can't wait to get started, and finish so I can wear it!!! MN has been a "lil" chilly this past week or so (-20 or more, without the wind chill), so perfect timing! Now if I could only work up the nerve to go out in the cold, to get some yarn, to get started... Lol! Thx again!
Wow its really cold in MN...I know it get tough to go out for yarn when your so warm inside your cozy house. Thank You So Much for your encouraging comment.
The scarf is beautiful and it made up pretty quick! The only problem was It turned out too small in finished size for me but made a perfect gift for someone with a smaller neck. I am an ole timer and I had to listen carefully to you as I never count the stitch on the hook. You did keep me on my toes. Thanks for a great tutorial.
This is a beautiful scarf! It is so stylish and cute. Definitely something I would love to show off walking to and from class around campus. Would go great with a cute peacoat and hat! Thank you for your wonderful tutorials! I wore the square scarf earlier in the week and got MANY compliments on it. The best feeling in the world is having someone say "where did you get that?" and answering it with "I made it!" :)
I really love this pattern amd I am working on it now. But, could you tell me how i can make it a little wider ? I don't know if I can add any amount of stitches that I want like 10 or 20 stitches. Or, if there is a an exact grouping of stitches (i.e. 4+2) in order to make the pattern work in the manner you demonstrated. Thank you so much! Kathi
I absolutely LOVE your tutorials! I have been requested to make this scarf last year, but was unsuccessful. But I have just completed this scarf with no problem what so ever due to you! Thank you so much! I am so glad I have subscribed to you. Keep 'em coming I'm looking forward to making more projects with you!
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. Yes, some are correct about your stitch counting method being a little unique, but I was able to follow easily. Merry Christmas! I plan on wearing my new collar later this month on a trip to Israel!
great pattern! 72 chains wasn't long enough for mine either. i used a 6mm hook and worsted weight yarn. will try it again but go up a few more chains. Thanks for posting this lovely pattern.
Karen Record appreciate reading your reply. I was 9 rows done and realized how short it would be. Aaargh! took it all apart and will begin with 99. I, also, am using Red Hart Love but in Tan (Oatmeal to me :) ) and beginning anew. Do love the pattern but only have an I/9-5.5mm hook. Won't be as loose as the one in video but still beautiful.
I make these all the time using 72 chains and 9 or 10 rows. Once you get the gist of it, it comes easy. Since life is not made only of photos, I have decided to participate in the game called "a meeting between friends". the idea is to see who reads a post without photos. If no one reads this message on my wall, it will be a short experience, but if you read it, make a comment with a word about us. Just a word. For example, a place in common or that makes you think of me, an object, a moment, a song, a shared experience, a sport, a movie... then copy this message on your wall and then I'll leave you a comment. Please don't just leave the word if you don't have time to copy the text. That would ruin the game. 😊
Having to keep watching this great video because i am too busy looking at your gorgeous nails lol - love this video - am going to try to make this for a christmas pressie for my best friend, thank you
Raquel, I enjoy your scarf, but I don't know the second row of this scraf you increase two stitches, my scarf becomes a curve pattern. You can explain to me.
Happy New Year and thanks for explaining how to make this scarf. Is it possible that if you join the ends at the beginning that this could turn out to be a cowl scarf.
i am so glad you left this comment. don't know why i didn't think of making it into a cowl! i made it using 72 stitches and it's way too small to look as amazing as it does in the pic. Thanks 👍
Question... If I want to make this scarf about an inch or two shorter so that it's tighter to neck, how long should I make my base chain? Your instructions are for 72, but I don't know how to compute the numbers to make shorter so that it still looks right on the ends. Thank you so much! I LOVE your tutorials!!!!!! So easy to follow! (hugs)!
Thats a so beautyfull scarf, Sound Makel only beautyfull thinks. Thank you so mutch for this pattern. I will make on for me. Have a nice day. Lovely wishes
Thank you for sharing! I love it when you upload these crochet videos! I have the same white string that's been sitting in my basket for two years, and now I can make this exact scarf lol
How funny Sirenia, I have an orannge yarn in a basket too. Its been waiting around for me to think up an idea for it. Now I feel sad for it hehehehe. I'll have to think something up for it. Thank You So Much :)

@@itsmelaura1533 same😅
Even though the crochet terminology is way off, i am a veteran so I understood your version;) I love your video and I'm thankful for this tutorial. I made a scarf for my mom and mother in law and the LOVED it. Please keep them coming girlfriend.
Thank you for the video tutorial, the scarf turned out excellent, it's my first time making anything. I appreciate you.
Hi lovely Nails thankyou for your tutorial this is my first time crocheting anything and I learned very well from your tutorial.... thankyou sooo much
I love this project so I made 2 of this for me of different colors, but 72 is so small, will just give away to my petite friends. For my third one, I added 30 chains and just follow her video to avoid confusion. it turned out so nice for me. Thank you so much!
I would like to make a correction, it was only 10 stitches that I added not 30, so just total of 82 chains t o start.
Love this! Decided to make it. As a beginner I have found that it was incredibly easy to get to grips with. Thanks so much.
Great tutorial! Easy to follow. Thanks!! I've made 2 of these! Mom & step-mom each got one for Christmas and both love them!
Love your nails!!!
Thank you so much for this video tutorial and pattern! I just completed this and it's my first successful project :) I can't describe how pleased I am right now. I can't wait for fall to wear this, it's beautiful!! Thanks again!
I just love all the paterns I'm so excited to learn.
so so beautiful, iam on my way to making these for Christmas gifts, thanks for sharing your talent, hope to see more of your work.
I love this scarf tutorial vid. The scarf is absolutely beautiful!
THANK YOU!!!
You patiently give detailed instructions, thank you!
This has a lovely lacey sort of look.
This is a beautiful pattern and you explain it very well.
Thank you so much for sharing this!
Hola todas las cosas que tu hace son fácil de hacer y muy bonita, que Dios te bendiga.
Very pretty scarf neck warmer pattern. A well made tutorial, I look forward to making it.
Un abrigo súper encantador!!
Gracias por compartir. I made it with pretty gold buttons and it came out lovely and so classy. Thank you your skills with beginners like me :). Blessings!
I am very new to crocheting and you made this so easy to follow. Mine turned out amazing.
Raquel cres que quedaria bien esta puntada para un chal en hilo mas delgado? espero tu respuesta gracias.
Hi! I'm starting t crochet and I love this scarf. I know the video is old, but do you remember the measurements? How many inches long and wide?I have some yarn I would like to use but is not the same thickness as yours.Thank you in advance
This is very pretty and your instructions are so detailed and clear. Thanks for posting this :)
also from the Netherlands and what a great tutorial, planning to make this collar scraf for my daughter
I have a question. If you put your crochet hook in de previous row, do you take one thread or two? Because I can't get the lines as beautiful as you have at the end. Thanks from the Netherlands.
Absolutely beautiful. Makes a great gift. Thank you so much.
72 was no way near enough for me, she must have a tiny neck, haha....sad thing is I wasted all this yarm
wish I read your advice first as I made it too short using 72 chains
Super simple pattern!! Fantastic tutorial for beginners! thanks
Thank you for your tutorial. Even though some of the stitching was referred to in different terms than what I know, I was able to follow along through your tutorial demonstration. I created a thank you video (Crocheting RUclips Inspired) and I mentioned your channel. Thank you for sharing.
the scarf is wonderful plz tell me how broad it should be I shall be thankful
That's so amazing. Love the texture .....have to make one! Thank you so much for sharing your talent. Wonderful instruction.
Thank You So Much ~ Have A Great Week :)
I love the look of this scarf and am wondering if you have written instructions so I can take my project with me? I'm not always able to have a computer with me. Thank you.
That is such a beautiful scarf! You have such wonderful artistic talents as well as being so beautiful! Thank you for sharing your talents with us.
I like how zoomed in the camera is... makes it easier to follow!
Love your videos, very clear instructions and you have such a pleasant voice. Keep your videos coming and thank you.
Excellent tutorial!!!!.....I love the way You explain all so simple, I understand everything thanks a loooot
just finished this! absolutely loved making it.
Beautiful scarf - and so are you. Thanks
This is such a lovely scarf.
How do I put on more stitches so it won't be too small ?
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. Yes, some are correct about your stitch counting method being a little unique, but I was able to follow easily. Merry Christmas! I plan on wearing my new collar later this month on a trip to Israel!
Oh wow this is so beautiful scarf I love it. I am going to try it, look very easy.
Gracias, hice una bufanda abierta usando el mismo patrón y me quedo hermosa.
great pattern! 72 chains wasn't long enough for mine either. i used a 6mm hook and worsted weight yarn. will try it again but go up a few more chains. Thanks for posting this lovely pattern.
+darthhobbit69 I did it with the 72 chain and 19 rows not right now I am doing it over with a chain of 99 and 9 rows much better
I've never been much for crochet, but this scarf is beautiful! I think I'll give it a try. Great tutorial!
Having to keep watching this great video because i am too busy looking at your gorgeous nails lol - love this video - am going to try to make this for a christmas pressie for my best friend, thank you
Raquel you look fab as always and I love the scarf too looks very easy to do
I love this scarf! Thank you for the excellent instructions!:)
I really like the scarf and it was really easy following too.
Raquel, I enjoy your scarf, but I don't know the second row of this scraf you increase two stitches, my scarf becomes a curve pattern. You can explain to me.
just finished. I love it Thank you for the video.
Thanks 👍
your very welcome- what stitch is it that you've used. enjoy your new year 2016.
Always classy and elegant. Thank you for always sharing :) many blessings.
you are doing such a good job and your nail are beautiful but it confusing us
I love the way you work, congratulations!!! bless
Thank You Lore ~ Kisses
(hugs)!
Thank you for this pattern it is very lovely just finished as gift, now on to making mine, change the edging.
I love the scarf. It is so pretty.

Love the style and after a while I was able to follow how to do the stitch,by the way I love your nails very pretty, thanks for sharing ❤️❤️👍👍🙏
