    My husband saw the men's cowl and asked if he could have one made so he could use it tomorrow it's going to be 28 degrees here in Texas and it's awful cold for him to be outside in the weather so I whipped 1 up tonight and I made it with bulky 6. 13 in Long 6 in high and he tried it on he said perfect

    This was really fun to crochet. What a great pattern. Thank you! Love the cabled look. I couldn't find the Ferris Wheel yarn so I used Red Heart Gemstone in Amitrine and it came out beautiful. Because it's a thicker yarn (5) I chained 60 instead of 76 and the size is perfect. I researched and found info that for this style of cowl a circumference of 18-1/2 inches is a good size so that's what I did.

I know they will love these, as they are always so grateful

    I made this out if Medium weight wool for my friend who lives in Alaska. I made it smaller than 76 stitches because that was not holding the shape or heat in as well. I made a matching bun beanie to go with it. She said she’s used it a bunch already! Thanks so much!

    • @mathiniv
      @mathiniv 6 месяцев назад

      Hi! Do you recall how many chains you made to start? I am using wool as well.

    • @whateverislovely8654
      @whateverislovely8654 6 месяцев назад +1

      I used a 4 weight wool yarn and I believe I did 60 or 64 stitches to fit over my face and neck. But it’s really whatever best fits nicely around your neck.

    • @mathiniv
      @mathiniv 6 месяцев назад

      @whateverislovely8654 thank you for responding! I picked up medium weight (4) wool as well. I'll do as you suggested and reduce the stitches but also check the fit as I go.

    I started this cowl with a different yarn, and the front post double crochets were too short between the regular double crochets, so the fabric was curling up. I started over using front post double crochets with regular half double crochets, problem solved! It's turning out quite nicely, thank you for the pattern!

    Thank you for a great video that I actually learned from. I never knew exactly where to go when doing the fpdc. I was confused whether it was above the vertical bar or below it and you showed me exactly where it should be placed and now I know! I had gone through a lot of videos that never showed it close enough. I did do a foundation dc to start so hopefully it should still fit. Great pattern and I like a lot of followers bought the yarn to make several of them. Again thank you for all u do. Very much appreciated!
