I have just finished making this, and it turned out great. My problem with crochet has always been the sides, I could never get them straight, either adding extra stitches or leaving them out. Same problem with the first few inches, but then it clicked. I have now started the second one, and the sides are perfectly straight. Not to mention the pattern, which is wonderful. Waffle indeed. So thick and warm. I have tried to crochet properly since my school days I am in my 70's now,, couldn't even manage straight forward pot holders. I am so thrilled with the result of this cowl. The first one will keep my husband warm this winter. Feels like I have discovered youTube all over again. Thank you so much!

For a beginner and clueless of how to create, you are by far the best guru on here. Your video was not dragging. You were on point, clear, and showed exactly how it should be done! I was able to follow and create a beautiful cowl! Thank you from Sydney! ☃️

You've given us the length (28" ) and I wonder if you could let us know how wide your strip is. That will make it easier to judge when using a different weight of yarn. Thanks very much - a really lovely cowl.

This is really beautiful. This yarn looks lovely in this cowl. Your instructions are easy to follow. Especially appreciate the careful instructions at the end of the rows. If I mess up, it's always that last stitch of the row.

I just made this cowl. really easy design I made it with loin brand home spun colors light pink and grey not sure the exact name of the colors. I switched colors every other row carrying the yarn up the sides then once I hit 28 inches, I did a single crochet border around the cowl before single crocheting it together like in the video. It took me a few try’s to fold it the way you showed in the video but it’s super easy and super fun to do. I only put it down to get up to let my puppy outside. Super warm too. If I could I’d up load a picture but I can’t seem to do it on my phone

Made it with Lion Brand Homespun #5 bulky. I used 6mm hook. My end project is 8” wide & 35” long.
She says 28” but I found it not long enough to wrap around & sew it together. 🙂
