I’m using Woodland Crossings in HO scale (Wood and Metal) and Road Kits this week! Wish me luck. Thanks for the great instructional videos for both the road system and crossings! And thanks to my local hobby shop for stocking your great products!
You are so very welcome for the videos! We are happy you find them helpful. Happy modeling! :)
if you have any broken track you can use cut up sleepers as the wooden bits : )
Love these videos.
Followed the link here from the recent Twitter post. It's a realistic looking crossing adaptation.
I just got motivated to work on my layout this weekend!
Well then...have a fantastic weekend and Happy Modeling!
spare couple of wheel sets helps ensure inner spacing?
[thank, you for youre great helpful video]👍
A very nice and informative video. Two questions I have, though, are as follows: 1) What did you use for the white subroad material? and 2) Could I use this with sectional track such as Kato Unitrack?
Our apologies for the delayed response. The roadbed is made of an Incline/Decline Starter covered with Plaster Cloth. The Grade Crossings will work with Kato Unitrack.
@@ModelSceneryExpert Oh, OK. Thank you very much for your response and help.
What is the glue that you were using to glue down the shims and the crossings?
The instructions recommend cyanoacrylate adhesive (aka super glue/CA glue). We used the particular brand Zap-A-Gap Medium CA+ adhesive, however any brand of super glue/CA glue will work.
where are the crossing gates and signals? and I remember just using rerailers for grade crossings
Bruh. This is used for real layouts. And there's no crossing signals because they don't make any crossings.
whats the best tree type to build on or other material
Hello! Are you referring to the trees in this video, or trees in general?
I'm late as usual but will this work on Bachmann EZ Track? Advance in thanks ma lady friend!
Yes, our Grade Crossings will work with Bachmann EZ Track.
Fine
If you use this with MTH O scale RealTrax you will have to cut back the grades wood planks inside the rails due to the flanges of a MTH freight car will not clear the flange way! Use a Dremel sanding tool or sanding paper or sanding block to cut it back so your flanges will clear! You will have to cut back past the rail plates on the crossties to make enough room! Do this before gluing down and check it a couple of times and make sure the car is not riding up or picking it and cause a derailment! It takes about 10 minutes to do it with a Dremel tool! After it clears flanges then glue it down! It is a must do!
stop with the exclamation marks, it gets annoying.
+Collin Martin Stop posting reply's because your annoying!!!! More exclamation point for you!!!!! Have A Nice Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can a rerailer section of track work as a grade crossing
Grade Crossings are designed to represent real grade crossings. Rerailers are designed to put a derailed train back on its tracks and look much different than a real grade crossing. Some modelers choose to modify their rerailers to make them look like grade
crossings as a way to mask the rerailer’s presence on a layout. While this choice is entirely up to the modeler, we recommend using our Grade Crossings for the most realism.
Thanks! I was trying to figure out how to do that and you provided the answer! :-)
Will this work with Bachmann Ez track?
Yes, Grade Crossings work with Bachmann EZ Track.
thanks
Can these be used with atlas o scale 3 rail track
Yes. Grade Crossings can be used with O Scale 3-rail tracks and are compatible with Atlas track.
Should of used a wagon or piece of rolling stock to test the flange clearance
Can I use this with Marklin HO 3-rail track?
I'm sorry, but our Grade Crossings are not compatible with Marklin HO 3-rail track. This type of track has electrical pick-ups that run down the center of the track. Our Grade Crossings would cover the electrical pick-ups.

Is the white stuff plaster?
The under structure of the road is one of our Inclines covered in Plaster Cloth to meet the height of the track. Then the Smooth-It was applied over top of the Plaster Cloth to create a smooth road.
So what about corners????
wthwing Hello! Grade crossings only work on straightaways.
+Woodland Scenics when I get bachman train sets and I use my very detailed locomotives on the crossings the plows hit the plastic, so this video was very helpful for my problem.
Do they come curved?
Hello Luke...no, they are not available in a curved shape. We have had other modelers ask about making them curved. The problem is that there are too many different radii for track, that we could not possibly make them all. I will certainly send your question to our Product Development department for consideration. Thanks!
***** Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.
Blair Line makes curved grade crossings! I found them in Walthers catalog and on their website, and you can get them in the radius you need!
Congratulations on introducing this product; sorry I am nearly 3 years late in viewing. I also like the fact that the narrator has nicely manicured finger nails and clean hands. It is very unappealing to see dirty hands in a scale model video; I think it sends a negative messenger about attention to detail of the manufacturer/seller. Respectfully submitted.
Not keen on the fake nails
