Ok, so they were ready to offer 770k, but decided that 775k is too much, so they stayed in their rental, paying rent. I wonder how many months 5k will cover. Either they are not ready to move at all and looking for excuses or they are searching for unicorns... Happy for the other couple, smart choice! Although I would have gone for the first flat, but again based on video only. In person it is all so very different.
I knew that they were not going to end up buying anything the moment the husband told Chris that they were keen on trying to make an offer on house number 2. It was such a lukewarm statement with no enthusiasm, excitement or stress (other than the wife saying it was stressful once with no emotion). Usually, if you really want a house, one is nervous and excited about getting it, and the couple displayed no feelings. Even if the seller had accepted their offer of 760K or 770K, this couple would have pulled out later as they are full of self doubts and second guessing everything due to wife's over analysis and the husband not able to make a firm decision or is just used to wife making decisions for them. Phil pointed out in the very begining the over analysis type struggle when it comes to buying property. Now they are going to waste so many hours for months or longer checking properties online and then spend many many weekends going to view properties. They would waste more time in property search which if converted to money would far exceed the 5K that they refused to pay. Not to mention the longer they rent that 5K and more would be consumed by rent.
I think the lady is insecure and afraid to trust her instincts and feelngs. If one mentally analyzes a property, over and over, they will all come up short.
I can’t believe Phillip had to warn the couple with the daughter about the “show house”! That should be a positive, not a negative - it was just neat and clean, way easier to look at without any clutter or distractions.
To be fair, show houses do look like no one lives in them. So, imo, it's hard to imagine yourself living in them. Even the houses of the rich and famous, in "Better Homes and Gardens" are staged. I'm not saying I wanna see pants on the floor, but seeing 10 years of someone's touristy items on the fridge beats a perfectly placed pot of chrysanthemums.
Wow, Kirsty actually asked the 35 year old man-child if the last living room was too grown up for him… And his response was in so many words yes. Alright then.😂 And the foolish woman that stays with him anyway.
A man his age who is absolutely adamant that he does not want children is letting you know that he wants 'you' but not your fertility, because accepting the entire woman, with her fertility, means he will have to give up being an adolescent. Can't count how many women I know who accepted that in their 20s and then found themselves in menopause, still 'living with their boyfriend' and facing the fact that he was NEVER going to commit to marriage and family.
I totally picked up the same. He flat out told his gf - no dogs or kids. She had to ask permission for a cat. And she looked disappointed at it all. Also, he didn't comfort her when she was crying. He knocked her arm an d then just stood there.

Like I told my partner when buying a flat, need to have min 2 bathrooms incase two having bad stomach and not advisable if there is only one bathroom :)

@@heatherfruin5050 in the older days was normal to have one toilet for a big family but in this modern day, 2 toilets are a minimum unless the person is single.
Why is it that people cannot overlook the decor in a "show home" ? Just imagine your furniture and your mess in it instead - the showy furniture is not going to convey .
Wow, one lady will never find a "home" as she's too particular (husband deserves an award for incredible patience), and the other couple, well, I hope to heaven they stop gambling or their future will be well literally up in the air - 'nuf said by this grumpy grandma
I have NEVER seen either Pip or Kirstles ever "do a runner" (is that the right term?), out the back to avoid another estate agent coming in the front. That was so cute! Also 5000 BP is over $9000 CA, just from a quick search, so I don't blame a couple for holding off that close to their top budget.
I love Phil, but this episode is a classic example of the bias against intelligent women. I mean, come on!!!! She is far less complaining than so many of the other women on this series, yet every sentence from Phil is a jibe at Joanna. It's like men can't stand clever women.
I feel the same about the first house, it's beautiful, I want to like it, but I just can't. Narrow dimensions, feels like a tall corridor. At that price, I'd rather take a detached in Winterbourne or Iron Acton, and drive just 20min to the city when needed.
It's a lot of money for a flat or attached property. I'm starting to wonder if the Economist who saud don't buy anything for atleast 3 years was wise. It's just giving already rich people a huge windfall and leaving poverty for homebuyers with huge debt. Wondering if families and parents moving in together in a bigger house is better option.
I adore Phil and Kirstie, but they can be a bit old-school sometimes. Would Phil have lectured a particle physics Ph.D. about having feelings if that person had been male? OK, I know, it makes for good entertainment.
@@AFAskygoddess Don't be ridiculous. There have been many people on this show who could never come to a decision because they were too critical, analyzing every house to atoms. @@JuliaHopewell Polish familes tend to be much closer than "western" families.
