I paid to watch it on Vimeo, I watched it and loved it! I won your contest and got a blu Ray sent to Ireland and watched it. I've shared it with my parents and friends and love the movie. When I got to America for the first time in June I purchased Siracha and loved it!

In the commentary, I mistakenly say I shot the film on my Panasonic GH4. It was actually my nearly identical (but not 4K) Panasonic GH3.

michal03966 NEX 5n/5r/a5000 with vintage lenses all the way best >$400 setup ever!

michal03966 That is true for some retail stores. If you browse on Ebay used for the EU however you can find some pretty good deals like this one:
      www.ebay.com/itm/Sony-alpha-NEX-5R-16-1-MP-Digital-Camera-Black-18-55mm-Lens-NEX-5RL-B-/171558694129?pt=Digital_Cameras&hash=item27f1b1ecf1
I have a large Ebay store and have made a business out of buying and selling vintage cameras and lenses so that's also where I buy a bunch of stuff. IMO the NEX 5r paired with some reasonable lenses is easily comparable to the GH3 and similar cameras and even beats them in some respects. I personally own 2 of them and they are great!
P.S. you can also use your Nikon lenses on them with a $12 adapter (a definite perk if you already own some lenses)
      www.ebay.com/itm/Nikon-AI-AF-S-G-Lens-To-Sony-NEX5-5C-5N-5R-NEX6-NEX7-A5000-A6000-E-Mount-Adapter-/220713892248?pt=US_Lens_Adapters_Mounts_Tubes&hash=item336392b998
Let me know with any questions I'll help you out if I can:)

michal03966 And on your D5100 it definitley isn't bad for video. Getting out and learning how to use it is the most important part. It's not the camera it's the videographer who makes a film great!

Hi Griffin I have a question, could you do a short tutorial about how you had set the Sriracha Documentary up in Premiere? In other words, how you organized it, please and thank you. (At the moment I am working on a Keenywood Documentary and wanted to see if your organization was cleaner than mine?)

I really like this commentary. I always like hearing what was going through a director's mind when shooting. Also, the shot of all the barrels, for some reason I immediately thought Tron, the shot revealing the endless cubicles in the office building. Anyways, great job!

Watching your videos helped me with my skills. Also watching your Sriracha from beginning to end motivated me to actually make it. Griffin, you're such an inspiration to me for my studies I am currently busy with, which is a Bachelor's in Film Arts. It's been such an incredible journey from the dawn of Indy Mogul and now, to this outstanding documentary, which I admire so much.
Your DIY tips from Indy Mogul has really helped me in my first year of studies this year and plan to use much more in my following two years.
It's so great to see exactly how much thought and time you put into this film, hopefully one day I'll making films just like this!
    Thanks for everything bud!

Well, as a thai, I'm glad that some people from far away really wants to know the real meaning of it. You cannot find the true meaning in translator because its a euphemistically word.
'Sri' means Glory/Goodness/Majesty/All that kind of positive things. 'Ra cha' means King. So its overall word is mean 'Majestic King' or 'Glory to king'. Something like that.

At my camp I like to do food challenges (I can eat a taco in four seconds). This past year they got sriracha. One morning we were having breakfast burritos and I decided to do another challenge. I filled my burrito with scrambled eggs and sriracha. That was not a good idea. This wasn't a speed challenge but a "can you finish it" challenge, I did not finish it, instead I threw up. That was not a good day for me and sriracha.

I like brown (old) Sriracha... I found an old bottle of sriracha in the back of a cluttered spice cupboard in a time of need (my fresh bottle was dry) and I bravely sampled the burgundy colored contents, and wow! Aged Sriracha is the "Cognac" to fresh Sriracha's "wine"... It goes great with Korean food of course, but it tastes nothing like gochujang... I highly recommend to all my fellow Srirachophiles that they try it aged (that is, opened and left at room temperature for at least one year) :-D

Hi Griffin, thanks for this. I think documentaries are my favourite genre, and despite the number I watch, its yours that I keep coming back to as I am about to embark on my own. I've recently purchased a GH4, and it's quite a major change from my Canon. I know it has new picture styles such as Cinelike D. The GH3 doesn't have it. I love the look of your film. What style did you use for your documentary? How much colour grading did you do? And did you light the interior (restaurant) shots?

I shot the whole thing with my GH3 and mostly on the Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 lens. I used the "Natural" color profile, which is kinda flat, giving me a decent amount of leeway in color correcting. But it also means I color corrected EVERY shot, mostly bumping up the contrast and color saturation. I only used a light on David and Adam's interviews-everywhere else was natural light.

Loved this film when it first came out! I brag about it all the time to friends and family! Keep up the good work, I've been watching you since Indy Mogul! Please don't stop making videos! And haha your pronunciation is pretty off when speaking Thai, but it's okay! :) (This is coming from someone who is Thai)

Thank you for the director's cut, it was informative and entertaining. Is working for Bloomberg News giving you ideas for another documentary, perhaps something political?

This video is sold for 3 dollars on demand on Vimeo. I'm just curious if anyobody dared to upload it to YoTube. PS Nice shooting! The machinery DOES look mesmerising.

Thanks! Yes, a couple people had uploaded it to RUclips and Vimeo-it's been taken down. I'm generally okay with people pirating my film, but not when someone else is earning ad revenue or views off of it, or passing it off as their own.

Good doc! One more international note: most of the workers who work in the factory and for the pepper farmer are Mexican immigrants

Wonderful. The back story was just as good as the film.
