    3. How many days in advance you do your decoration?
    4. Thank you for posting where you get your Sweetex. Last week we went to PJP and got ours for the first time. We used to used the one that Cakebakes sell but they are no where to be found.
    5. I find it very hard to find a baking supply store in Philly. I know of 1 which is amazing but they don't always have everything we need. Of course, Amazon but if you need something right away that can be an issue.

      Are you asking if you can use Betty Crocker icing instead of my buttercream recipe? If so, you can. But the Betty Crocker icing is really soft and it seems like it melts pretty quickly. You can stir in a little meringue powder to stiffen it up if needed.

      I haven't had a problem with that. However, I only use homemade marshmallow fondant and make sure I add enough Tylose powder. If you use store bought fondant, it's notoriously soft and you may have issues.

    What do you do with the excess fondant that has all the gumtex in it? Whenever I ball it up and try and save it for another use, it ends up a hard ball in my bag and I end up throwing it away. Even when I try and microwave it for a few seconds, it becomes pliable for the most part, but has a weird feel to it. I use Wilton fondant, and not homemade marshmallow, so maybe it's different? I'm guessing you somehow try and salvage any extra you can, so just curious how I can too. Thanks!

    • @KarolynsKakes
      @KarolynsKakes  Год назад

      It could be different because you're using Wilton. I keep using the fondant until it is too hard like you said. After microwaving it too many times, it reaches a point of no return LOL So I reuse it as long as it's still a little soft before microwaving it!
