that stradi guitar is basically listed at or slightly above the cost of a new one, so i guess it's not totally ridiculous, though I'd say the only reason to buy the reverb one would be to skip the wait time of having one built for you.
Agathis wood is evergreen wood not plywood, and isn't bad it is used for a lot of affordable guitars but there are some good manufacturers for certain models.
@@CBoxStudios what do you mean by it’s terrible, it’s just a normal hardwood. The reason it’s found in cheaper guitars is because it’s abundant and cheap in Asia where most guitars are made nowadays, it’s no different to the use of Alder in Solidbody electric guitars, Alder was used because it was more abundant and cheaper than Ash, not because it had some superior “tonal” qualities or whatever nonsense guitar manufacturers try to sell you.
@@Dell-ol6hb Tonal qualities? No no no. It's about the looks. It's a terrible looking wood. Very cheap. Now the Ash that you mentioned? Beautiful. Because when it comes to guitar material it's all about strength, weight and looks.
When I saw that George Harrison Fender all I could think was "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die." I'd offer $100 for it just for that. Those "Swarovski Crystals" are in fact essentially glass. From a company that apparently made a name for themselves back in the day with legit stuff, but now mainly just pedals overpriced quartz glass to famous people. In all reality that hello kitty guitar was devalued but covering it with all the BS. Would have likely held a higher value in the long run to a collector without the rocks glued to it. Basically it's trash.
One can still order MX in ESP Custom Shop, the legal hoop is that you have to file the order via Japan Post, pay with yen and pick it up from Japan (because the lawsuit doesn't selling them in Japan)... and it would cost way less than $12K for 2 trips to Japan and would come with the hard case.
My wife does beading. Swarovski crystals are at the higher end of quality. It probably cost a few hundred dollars for enough to cover the guitar. Throw in some cash for the time and effort. However, that still doesn't get you to $17.5K! However, it is a cool looking guitar!
The Stradi baritone listing isn't ridiculous. They are a custom shop in Poland that uses top end stuff and also make basses. All inspired by classical violins, cellos etc. SamuraiGuitarist has a fretless baritone by them. Maybe has limited appeal, but the stuff they make is beautiful!
In one of the episodes of this series you said that there will be an episode where you are gonna buy one of these ridiculous guitars. We're waiting. Many great options passed already.
"Swarovski crystals are a type of man-made glass that are heavier and reflect light more than standard glass crystals. They are more expensive than regular glass due to their fine materials and complicated manufacturing process." The cost seems to be more about the labor involved than anything
The guy on the Tele represents, I think, the kind of picture of a strangely non-aramaic Jesus that hung in your aunt's kitchen.... The Stradi is spectacular.....next time I have $6000 laying around I'll ponder it closely. What a lovely thingamabob! Have a great day all y'all!
Beans stable ? I'm assuming you're in CA. A local band had one.Just traveling to the gig in winter made it not usable until the second set, after it warmed up.
Diamonds are also not from the earth my dude. We've been making them for years. Sure, we do still mine them but the vast quantity are made industrially.
Nothing ridiculous about the Stradi, that's a reasonable price, and they're hand built to order so even if it was a little high it would be worth it because you're paying a premium to not have to wait over two years to get yours.
wasnt the bigg muff from 70s like military green color, if you have a working one they are worth shitloads of money, but that red one i would not pay a dollar for
Swarovski is a very high end crystal company. Michael Jackson was supposed covered himself in then for his “This is It” tour. Is it worth 17,000 to me? Fuck no. But it definitely can be worth it to the right buyer.
Someone could totally rescue/rehouse that BMP pedal but I don't know if there are any vintage muff fanatics that can abide by that price. Still LOLing at the "Jack White maybe???" line in the description.🥸
That rosewood Tele is sick despite the pickguard
Looks like Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride on the Fender. "I am Inigo Montoya and you killed my Fender Tele"
Exactly what I thought ! lol
I would tell people it is Burt Reynolds.
I thought it was William Murderface from Dethklok.
Dude put Yanni on his rosewood Tele 😂
I said the SAME thing😂😂😂😊
Yes! I couldn't place it, but I knew it was familiar (and not George).
Not nose beer just Booger sugar😂😂 Gibson needs to make a new shirt that says: Gibson ( hey we’re gonna sue you )
The Swarovski 'Hello Kitty' looks perfect for your channel. Namastè.
agathis is not plywood. n24-nuno from washburn for example has an agathis body. it is just a local wood from asia
Yes
Just bought the Hello Kitty guitar, was looking ages for one with crystals. Thanks for the heads up.
That Primus impersonation was too accurate 😂🤘

Millimetric Guitars?
@@CBoxStudios Most guitars are painted mate, alder, basswood are also boring, or can be boring to look at....
9:55 You'd have to pick George's nose while playing. 😆
That Hello Kitty guitar popped up on one of the local gear pages I run, and the comments just went wild

I love this segment . Thanks Fluff. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Mark Johnson (MJ) Engineering was the guitar Kevin Cadogan played

The tele painted face looks like Burt Reynolds more than George Harrison 😂
My first thought was, "Why did they put Burt Reynolds on the guitar???"
I thought it was Yanni.
The guitar brand is Mirage that the dude from 3EB played.
Love that STP shirt!
Reverb actually shoved that Stradi Baritone listing in my Facebook feed a few weeks ago. Super sick. Want it. Costs as much as my car lol.
I like the Burt Reynolds Telecaster.
"Throw this thing away. Or lower your price." Fluff
Been blasting STP every day for the last few weeks. So good. 🔥🔥🔥
That Tele pickguard looks like Gino Vanelli back in the 70's.
that Hello Kitty is just bedazzled

"it was always snowing in the office" lmaooooo
Ram's Head 1973-1977 (Silver?) I think that was it's life span. And HTF do you snap a circuit board through a metal housing?
That big muff listing is just absolutely mind boggling. Strangest sunken cost example I’ve ever come across
Listing #5, the guy on the pick guard looks like Burt Reynolds. That is definitely ridiculous!
Now, if it only had David Hasselhoff's mug on that Tele...
That face on the Tele looks more like Wolfgang Petry. He's a German Schlager music artist. Sported a mullet well into the 2000s. Catchy music, though!
I submitted the Travis Bean and said the same thing when I saw it!
Stradi's are killer instruments.
The Helanbach Edition Ram's Head was amazing.
How is agathis plywood? Yes it’s a cheaper wood but it’s still solid wood, not plywood.
On Craigslist in my area there’s a vintage 1960’s violin bass strap $250.00.
In one of the episodes of this series you said that there will be an episode where you are gonna buy one of these ridiculous guitars. We're waiting. Many great options passed already.
When Floyd Rose was making guitars in the early to mid 2000s they had hollow headstocks too.
The string nut is so narrow on those Squire Hello Kitty guitars
The new Gibson 80s Reissue Explorers are amazing. Just buy those.
Oh man! I got the Harison and the Brown guitars mixed up.
The Stradi kind of looks like something Framus would put out 🤔 Endorsed by "Heavy Devy" $50,000 🤣🤣
The Ron Jeremy Tele 😆😆😆
Happy Birthday Fluff!
11:02 Looks like Inigo Montoya 🤣🤣🤣
Steady headstock is reminiscent of NS Designs headstock.
Buck Dharma on the pick guard
Samurai Guitarist has one of those Stradi Baritones.
The guy on that tele pick guard looks like Matthew McChonaughey’s character from True Detective season one
"Swarovski crystals are a type of man-made glass that are heavier and reflect light more than standard glass crystals. They are more expensive than regular glass due to their fine materials and complicated manufacturing process."
The cost seems to be more about the labor involved than anything
Wandre guitars from Italy had aluminium necks, those are from the very early sixties.
Nice Gram Parsons telecaster there
Looks like Christian Bale with a mustache on the Tele LOL
"nose beer habits" 😂
Pretty sure I wasn't the only person to submit that Big Muff abomination but I'd like to think I did my part. GO TEAM!
The dude on the Tele looks a lot like 1970s Buck Dharma from Blue Oyster Cult.
Kevin Cadogan played a MJ Mirage. I played bass for him for a couple years. And we share a last name…Cheers.
10:59 "my name is Inigo Mon-tele-ioga!"
I was just looking for teles on reverb and saw the dudes face pickguard one 😂 never bothered to click on it though
That Yanni Telecaster is... a thing...
Beans stable ? I'm assuming you're in CA. A local band had one.Just traveling to the gig in winter made it not usable until the second set, after it warmed up.
To the Big Muff seller, get to know your bill collector. You're about to be on a first name basis with them.
A quick google says that Kevin Cadogan played MJ Mirage guitars and they have that style headstock
That stradi bass is the same company that made Samurai Guitarist a baritone guitar that was awesome. Check it out
(8:39) are you thinking about the Floyd Rose guitars? They had a similar style cut out head stock :)
Edit: timestamp updated
Nose beer....that doesn't even make sense
….What is the new iic+ like? 😎👍💯💯💯
Give me a Bedazzler, a couple of joints, and a free afternoon, and I'll happily make you a sparkly Hello Kitty strat for $500.
Cutting off the bouts on the Travis Been Guitar would just make it neck heavy. They were already heavy as it is.
it looks like Weird Al on that pickguard :D
Looks like Inigo Montoya from the Princess Bride lol
2:51 it’s Hello Kittys 50th anniversary or something this year….
I think Joakim Broden of Sabaton wants that Hello Kitty guitar
No! Not the Travis Bean!
Agathis is not plywood, it’s a hardwood with similar hardness to mahogany, that is native to Southeast Asia and Australia
Jerry Garcia was a fan of the TB.
George Harrison??? I thought that was Frank Zappa!
5:30 I´m waiting for Gibson to sue Epiphone, it´s going to happen any day now.
You realize they own epiphone right?
If someone is into Swarovski guitars take a look at Jens Ritter Guitars' 25th Anniversary build. Thats like 80k :D
Looks more like Yanni or Ron Jeremy on that Teli
I just seen a used rr24 used up for double what I paid new earlier this year.
There’s never been a hello kitty guitar worth more the $17
No, crystals are not glass, they're actual stones.
Those crystals are man-made, silica sand.
Jerry Garcia made the T.B. guitars famous way back when
Diamonds are also not from the earth my dude. We've been making them for years. Sure, we do still mine them but the vast quantity are made industrially.

Swarovski crystal IS glass. Up until 2012 (or so) it was lead crystal, but we all know where that went.
Listing 4 is fucking gorgeous!
I thought that was Yanni on that tele pickguard
The Stradi isn’t that bad. A handmade for $5k.
Crystal is glass with lead oxide
Yes i agree, we have been wonderful and you definitely are fluff
wasnt the bigg muff from 70s like military green color, if you have a working one they are worth shitloads of money, but that red one i would not pay a dollar for
Looks more like Vlad the Impaler than George Harrison . Undecided whether that is cooler or not.
Swarovski is a very high end crystal company. Michael Jackson was supposed covered himself in then for his “This is It” tour. Is it worth 17,000 to me? Fuck no. But it definitely can be worth it to the right buyer.
Fender should sue Gibson over the Kramer super Strat
Someone could totally rescue/rehouse that BMP pedal but I don't know if there are any vintage muff fanatics that can abide by that price. Still LOLing at the "Jack White maybe???" line in the description.🥸
