I unfortunately experienced that problem with the phonak virto black where but notifications would kick me out of programs. For me that was important so I returned the hearing aids and phonak lost a sale. They really should fix that. I’ve had my Paradise 50’s for about 2 weeks now. My first hearing aids. I found the custom settings in the app seemed to hold when the phone locks but as soon as it wakes the app reverts to Autosense or Bluetooth Stream. Is there a huge difference in sound quality from the 50 to the 90’s? I do find sometimes it is difficult to separate out the sounds when watching TV and other ambient noise. Great video. Thanks for posting. One other problem I have is the speaker keeps working its way out from the canal. I am currently trying the anchors for a couple of days but they don’t seem to be helping. My audiologist seems to think maybe shortening the tube will help. Any thoughts?

Hi Emma, thanks for this video. My dad has been using the Naida P90 PR for a couple of months, and he is troubled with a few things. One of them is, I believe, due to the dynamic noise cancellation: when something makes a loud noise, e.g. crushing nuts, he feels like his hearing gets way worse for a few seconds during which he struggles to follow a conversation (that is seconds after the noise disappeared). Moreover, on several occasions, after such events, he feels the need to pop his ears, just like when he is on an airplane, which is a pain that worries him. Do you think these behaviours are to be expected and perfectly normal with these hearing aids? Thanks a lot.

Nice video, will there be a Paradise model that replaces the Marvel Black, that is, completely in ear? And black too!
I currently use NHS (UK) over the ear type hearing aids which are fine for hearing, but want to move to an in-ear model for purely practical reasons, eg riding bikes, wearing hats, general outdoor stuff, etc. I also would really like BT connectivity so I can listen to podcasts privately, and switch to hearing aid mode easily. Currently I use Apple’s own earbuds which are great, but it’s a hassle to take them out and put my hearing aids in to converse properly.

Have been trialing the Paradise for a week and have put them through the various environments that I did with the Resound Ones. Both brands did well overall, however I felt the Paradise had a more natural sound. I don’t notice the Autosense 4.0 switching between settings as I go from one environment to another, a positive for Autosense. Also the Paradise’s ability to sync to two devices(iPhone and iPad) simultaneously is a big plus. Double tap is an additional plus with the 90R, which by the way is my first rechargeable HAs after five previous HAs with batteries.
As you might guess I have chosen the Paradise over the Ones, for me, however we are all different and the Ones could work better for them.

I realize you can't compare every make and model of the previous generation of devices against every make and model of the current generation, but I wonder if you have any thoughts on Oticon OPN One hearing aids vs the Phonak Paradise? I got my OPN hearing aids five years ago and love them. That said, they were my first pair of hearing aids, and I didn't try anything else. I'm a geek, and the gadgetry available at the time appealed to me (the whole concept of hearing aids being Bluetooth enabled, and thus could function as both a phone hands-free device and a headset for listening to streaming audio just blew me away!) Obviously, Oticon then came out with the OPN S, and just released the next generation after that. I'm due for my next set of hearing aids in about a month and I like what I'm hearing about the current Oticon offering, but also everything I've heard about the Paradise devices. The "Bluetooth just works!", which I've heard from multiple sources, especially caught my attention. That and the tap control are very compelling features for me, but I don't know how these devices compare in their primary function: improving my hearing and speech clarity.

Another great video Emma. Dual BlueTooth is brilliant, but I’m in the Paradise group that finds touch control a bit wacky. More than once I’ve touched my ear and hung up on my phone call 😤. That’s something I have to learn not to do. But what is puzzling is the way tap control follows up in a sequence of taps. For example, while watching your video I tapped my ear and the video immediately stopped. I tapped again, and Siri answered. I said “Siri, play” and instead of continuing your video, I got some random song. What I find frustrating about this is the apparent lack of detailed instruction about how to use tap control. I’ve searched the Phonak site and found nothing worthwhile; certainly nothing that lists priority order of actions, which presumably does exist somewhere in the Phonak-Apple domain. Maybe material for another video?

    • @ValueHearing
      @ValueHearing  3 года назад +3

Hi Ian, thank you so much, that is definitely good material for another video. So, with your situation, one ear should be set to pause streaming and one ear to wake up siri. If you go into the myphonak app, go to "my hearing aids" and scroll down to tap control you should be able to check and actually adjust these settings. Let us know if you need more help with that :)

Hi, The P90 is Paradise. Audéo is simply the naming of the RIC style for Phonak. So Paradise also comes in an Audéo variant. Paradise does actually have a remote control that you could purchase if you aren't happy using the tap control or the free phone app for adjustments. You can opt to turn the tap control on or off using the app as some people like it and others, not so much.

Phonak Audeo Paradise P90 Update review. Jan 15, 2021
    Happy New Year everyone !
My Audiologist did a great test and programmed my new HAs to fit my hearing loss and do have a followup visit next month.
The only thing I think I need get her to adjust is the startup volumn may be a bit too loud for me. WHAT you say! Too Loud?
Never thought I would ever say that but I have to manually turn volumn down to -1 manually by the swtich or by the App.
It may be also I haven't hear loud things in so many years my brain doesn't know its normal sound. Just my guess.
    Now for some good stuff......................
After owning and wearing for almost a month I'm still astonished on their performance and daily longevity.
I have profound hearing lost in both ears and after 30 plus years of hearting aids I can honestly say these are OUTSTANDING for me.
Since I got them Dec 20, 2020 I have been really putting them thru their paces by using them on average 17 hours a day.
Bluetooth to phone, PC and TV and streaming at least 4 to 5 hours a day on RUclips and other locations ont he web.
I presently have my metal detector bluetooth paired with my HAs. No more head phones while searching for gold in Arizona.
At about 11PM I head to bed and the batteries are down to 10 to 15% charge left but no loss in sound quailty.
They will let me know if they fall below 10% which happened one long long day.
Just for information if you want a break during the day and put the HAs int he charger for an hour they will get back up to 100% quickly
After a month they still charge up fast and lets hope the batteries last the 3 to 4 years as Phonak says they will.
Sound Quality and clarity for me is the best I have ever had with previous HAs and I usually get a new set every 3 to 3 1/2 years.
Not having to install, buy, store or carry extra batteries with me is a bonus.
Back to sound quality and clarity....
I hear things now that I haven't heard since my early 20's and I'm now 71 years old.
Some of the things I know hear. Some good and some funny.
The sound a zipper makes when pulled up. (Important)
The sound the refrigerator makes when making ice and automaatically dumping into the tray storage.
When outside I actually look towards sounds like birds chirping as well a vehicle sound passing by.
I actually hear the TV clearly without and other device and at the sound level my wife set it at for her.
Speaking of wife who is a very soft talker I hear her very well so the voice sound enhaancer this has does its job.
While driving my car I now hear the turn signal sound when left on. LOL
Tap control works 99% of the time but the 1% is me tapping my ear wrong or scrating my ear when on the phone which hangs that person up. LOL
Did that a few time but with everything practice makes perfect.
My life has been enhanced with a better quality of life for me.
Hopefully this will give you a better feeling about getting a new set of HAs.
    Any questions ask away.

I liked the hearing aid while trialing it, but I really found the TV Connector was very noisy, like a static sound. They replaced it with a demo while mine was sent out, and the demo was just as bad. They ended up replacing it and it improved slightly but not enough to make it acceptable. She lowered the gain in the 4 to 8 Khz range and that helped with the noise but made understanding much worse. I so had another problem with the TV Connector when adjusting the volume it also adjusted the balance from TV to Surrounding, even with a volume remote. This was verified when looking at the app, volume didn't change on app but balance did. And the audiologist could get it to work right. Other than that I really liked the hearing aid. As you noticed sometimes the tap feature is sensitive, especially when putting on my reading glasses. Old age sucks.

I am currently demoing the Unitron DX Moxi Jump I think it's called it probably is equivalent to the Phonak Marvel, I have noticed on their TV Connector, that even though it looks identical in absolutely every way, it works so much better. It is amazing how much better it works noise it reduces to a almost nonexistent state (really really close) and sound is better too, be it TV shows, rock music, R&B, Classical, it just sounds so much better because of the lack of static. Unfortunately, Phonak Paradise don't have this system (yet - we're hopeful that it will be available in the future). If you're fit with only 1 Phonak Paradise aid, the features that you miss out on are all the "Binaural VoiceStream Technology" features - namely Speech in Loud Noise, Speech in 360, and DuoPhone.

I just bought M90 this week. Manual programs created by me (e.g., by decreasing the volume or noise reduction, etc.) and saved in the myPhonak app jump back to Automatic (AutoSense OS) when I receive a message (lately turned off all the messages) on my phone or when my phone goes to sleep after 1 to 2 min or walk away from the phone. It is highly unstable. The phone has to be constantly active in order to keep the manual program active. No way I could get my manual program 'active' for more than 5 min. Any solution for this? Thanks.

As of 19Feb21, Phonak support confirmed the notification issue exists, they know about it, and a coming firmware update will correct this. ETA? "Later this year"... Not very precise, and, frankly, not very helpful. Turning off haptic, and the beeps and boops, particularly haptic feedback, is a near non-starter. Pretty much how I selected Marvel M's in the first place and explains the multiple returns to Value Hearing and the return for service twice in the first twelve months.
Take2, the whole Paradise demonstration video is about subjective non measurable results. Paraphrase: 'Bluetooth on prior models was a not Phonak's fault, but the Bluetooth was improved in the new model'. Interesting misstatement as the Marvel was released with BT 1.x, outdated standard and technology when the device was released, so BT non-functionality was a Marvel Product design fault inclusion. Tap on new product, result is unpredictable. Overall Audiologists measure voice in noise as a measure, and it would be very simple to add a metric if there is not already one by the audiologist marking the result. That it is not there reflects on the sum null information in this video. As a user of the Marvel M R hearing aids, this just cemented that Phonak is still experimenting.
Works with most leading brands..... Subjective. So Apple and Android maybe, but no confirmation of any brand or model imitation. This is an easily confirmed metric from testing/reporting..
Closing comment 'Undeniably Positive' totally ignores the improvements only being able to subjectively (non validatable, non-measurable, non-warrantable) and even then to totally devalue only attributed to 'other persons'.
Sorry keeping what I have until Phonak can measure the improvement in some way, as I don't want to be the first person banned from Value Hearing for product not functioning to brochure claims..

    • @ValueHearing
      @ValueHearing  3 года назад +5

Hi Robert, thank you for the feedback. This video was a general comparison and essentially just feedback on what our clients and our audiologists have been experiencing so far. Everything you have mentioned was in fact covered in detail by the Paradise launch video released last month, it covers the more technical details and exact SNR improvements that have been indicated by the research. Of course this is Phonak research, we are still gathering our own statistics on exact signal to noise ratio improvements but this will take a lot more time. In regards to the phone compatibility, there is a wonderful guide on the Phonak website that lists every phone model, what is compatible, what is not and any reported issues. Let us know if you would like the link. In regards to the out of date bluetooth, when it comes to new hearing aids in the future you would be better looking at another brand such as resound, who have made plans to stay up to date with the new bluetooth versions being released in the future. This is not such a priority for Phonak. We hope that is helpful and thanks for watching! :)

It's a vestige left over from "valley-girl talk". It adds a layer of uncertainly and takes dilutes your speech.
