@@marymaryquitecontrary and for that matter any laptop or computer, not just iPhone and iPad. A Made for iPhone HA which is most Hearing Aids not Unitron or Phonak will do this. They won't however connect to any Bluetooth device such as a laptop and definitely don't do hands free phone calls. The Phonak Paradise does. I find the tap feature is great. Occasionally Siri won't respond but overall 9/10. I use it for music, getting the news. The hearing aid themselves work amazingly well. There are very few situations where I can't hear and I have moderately severe ski slope hearing loss down to 60db. It has exceeded my expectations.

I got the Phonak Paradise over a week ago now. I think hands free phone calls work incredibly well and people can hear me well even in a reasonable amount of noise including a pub 2/3 full. I think Phonak have tweaked this feature considerably since release but currently the Bluetooth is close to perfect. I stream from my MacBook Air as well and it is fine. These are incredible pieces of technology and it will improve my life over my previous Unitron HA which did not have Bluetooth. I find also that these give substantially better hearing in just about any situation.

Thanks for a thorough review. I have an appointment coming up since my healthcare provider does cover Phonak Paradise. More than a decade ago, I had aids that I absolutely hated (and still do). The adjustability, bluetooth, and environmental programs are all new to me, and I might be able to actually hear people now. As it is, I am basically a hermit and avoid any situations where understanding the other person is nearly impossible (not to mention taking them on and off, feedback squeals, no music, etc.) BUT (that's a big but--haha), it will come down to cost. Thousands is outta my range.

I am a new hearing aid user in the process of shopping/trialing different brands. Great review. I only need one (left). I have mild upper frequency loss, was recommended Widex Moment 440, since I like music. I was told by (another audiologist that Phonak was best, did not like Widex). I am after the best chance to hear the higher frequency, not interested in blue tooth other than to program on my phone. In your opinion, is the sound actually better on the Phonak Audeo P70 vs Widex Moment 440?

    • @HearingTracker
      @HearingTracker  2 года назад +3

Hey Mark. That's a great question and without seeing your audiogram and having a detailed chat its hard to answer. Both hearing aids process music in different ways and there are features on both that work well with music, yet at the same time things that can sometimes work against them working well. I've had some great success with the Moment's and music, however one has to be a little more careful of feedback with the Widex hearing aids over Phonak. In my opinion another viable option would be to look at Starkey. Thanks for watching.

Hey Thomas, Thank you so much!! That's a great question and I've held fire with Widex due to the age of the tech and the possibility that there may be something on the horizon (I say this solely based on the length of time since they released 'Moment'). My last Phonak aids were the H2O top of range. I moved to a different supplier/audiologist after 3 years and now wear Signia NX, which I have never been truly happy with. I shall move to an independent audiologist next, so your help with keeping updated in HA technologies is fantastic.
I do like the look of these aids.
One question, with the recharging box, is there a multi charge option? I am planning a trip soon where I may not get a chance to plug the recharging box into the mains electricity, so to be able to recharge the HA several times would be great. Thanks again, and keep up the great work.

In my second week wearing Phonak Life as my first pair of hearing aids. They are very comfortable and amazing sound. I wonder how the Oticon More compares in sound and hearing quality.
One problem with the Phonak Go Induction Charger - when I put the hearing aids into the Charger they turnoff and begin charging - as designed. However, sometime during the night they “wake up” and connect to my iPhone in the adjacent room and lose charge. I wake up to 60% charge. I have SSD and have tried CROS solutions from both Phonak Paradise and Oticon More. The Phonak has better bluetooth controls, but when its bluetooth is on you don't get any CROS signal. The Oticon supports simultaneous bluetooth and CROS, but it doesn't offer any on-ear bluetooth control. Neither of them is engineered for single-sided deafness, and neither of them gives you more than a fraction of the specialized hearing compensation that the condition demands, in my opinion.

    At approximately 12 minutes in…..
we don’t care how technically adept you are…even if you are an electronics technician or an audio engineer…. We will not provide the software so that YOU…. can adjust your hearing aids…. You will always be tethered to a doctor….
Much like how the auto dealer makes most of its money with service and repairs….. even a very technically able person will not be granted access to the full software suite of adjustments and corrections….
So…….. these devices are marked up between 5x and 10x ( much like prescription eye wear/ glasses)
And……. You are not allowed to make truly fine adjustments to the HARDWARE YOU BOUGHT…as the industry keeps itself wrapped in a protective non complete blanket claiming that these are a “ medical prescription”
Hearing loss is wide spread… but the monopoly on the devices and the software…. Is criminal ( should be a crime)

I often need to reboot the hearing aid to get it to connect to the second device, when both my phone AND PC should be active together. There is one important thing that is not mentioned, blue tooth creating a problem. No matter phonak or Oticon, blue tooth transmits into your ear frequences that may cause infectionous symptomes as I have experienced. A hearing aid has of course an asset when you are able to get voices directly in your ear from your phone. But if a hearing aid functions as it should, you should be able to hear it ring, as well as hear people talking to you also through the phone as normal hearing persons do.
Be aware of blue tooth transmissions can harm you.

I HATE the CeruSheild wax guards...have had them dislodge and it took an audiologist WITH the proper tools over 10 minutes to get that sucker out so they could put in a new one. Stupid design.
Have the Marvel and like them EXCEPT they cannot be used with both the android phone(use as a phone and for podcasts or youtube) and the iPad Mini or iPad (which I use for online edu programs bcs of their bigger screens)...so I have to use standard headphones with the iPads and use only the phone with the Phonak Marvel aids. Being able to use hearing aids with all bluetooth devices without the hassle of unpairing my phone (which causes all its settings disappear and then have to be reset by the audiologist) would be ideal.
Like the waterproof Life idea, except have always preferred replaceable batteries to rechargeable. My hearing aids go in at 6am and stay in until Midnight, with an average of 4hs total bluetooth streaming, plus the bluetooth phone connection is active the entire time they are worn. Currently, when the batteries die, in a few seconds fresh batteries are in. Don't have time to spend 30min recharging them for another six hrs use.
