  • Phonak, a perennial leader in the world of hearing aid technology, created another exceptional product in the Paradise P90RL. Most importantly, the P90s deliver on sound quality. Our patients say that the Paradise sounds clear and crisp, while maintaining a natural quality. In addition, it has essentially all the other features you would want in a hearing aid: a rechargeable battery that lasts all day, a comfortable and discreet fit, Bluetooth streaming for phone calls and music/media, an app for volume adjustments, the option for a telecoil, waterproofing, and an array of accessories. It is reliable and sturdy, rarely needing to be repaired. It typically comes with a 3 year warranty for repair and loss.
    At most clinics the programming, fine-tuning, and all audiology services associated with the hearing aids will be included in the price, for at least the length of the warranty. You get the benefit of in-person care, including Real Ear Measures which any quality audiologist should perform. This verifies that the output of the hearing aids is personalized to your hearing, and that you can get the best performance out of these great Paradise P90RLs. If money was no object, this would be the hearing aid we recommend, because in our opinion it is the best hearing aid of 2022.

    I suffered severe hearing loss and tinnitus due to noise exposure in the military in the 1970s. I've worn hearing aids off and on over the years, but was never happy with them. Two months ago, the Veterans Administration provided me with new hearing aids. I was surprised they were the Phonak P90 model. OMG, they are amazing. I can hear better now than I have in 45 years. I look forward to putting them in in the morning as soon as I get up, and taking them out is the last thing I do before I retire.
    As for the tap control. You do not have to tap on the hearing aid itself. You simply tap on the outside of your ear twice to answer a phone call.
    Phone calls are crystal clear for both transmitting and receiving. I also paired my P90s to my laptop so I can hear the audio much better. And streaming music is now very enjoyable. I'm thrilled with my P90s, and enjoying much improved hearing.
    Now, if they could just make a better app. The new version with health info like step counts really clutters up the screen.

      Janice - I had a zoom meeting yesterday and it was so nice to have crystal clear audio. And I used the hearing aids as the microphone too. I'm still very happy with them.

    I get my hearing aids through the Veterans Administration. I recently git Phonak P90's, the highest technology level. The VA did use real ear procedures for fitting. However, that is the extent of the training. There is no information given regarding the Phonak app. That is left up to the user.
    The VA will offer exams and hearing aids to anyone in the VA medical system. However, they will not offer high aid hearing aids unless you ask for them. There is no follow up re testing or service for 5 years. The replacement cycle is 5 years. Repairs are done in Denver CO, and your hearing aids may be returned to you un programmed. This means a long wait for the VA audiology clinic. There is no rental or loaner program. You are on your own.
    Summation. The VA is great for obtaining hearing aids. However, you need the services of a local Audiologist for follw up training, exams and adjustments.

    Great info
    Hoping you will do a video review on the Lyric invisible hearing aid
    There’s a lot of chatter online that it’s the best of the best especially for tinnitus because of how close the actual aid is placed to your ear drum.
    And the fact it’s a 24/7 wearable aid I think a review for this particular One especially for the tinnitus sufferers that often have tinnitus 24/7 and these can be worn at night sleeping when most tinnitus suffers seem to experience the worst sounds
    Love your channels
    Hopeful LYRIC is on your list for 2022

    I’ve bought the almost identical SONOVA (P90) HA from COSTCO 6months ago where it is known as the KS.10 RT (Rechargeable+Telecoil). It is a fine instrument and Costco Audiologists perform a REM to ensure a good hearing fitting. A pair in 🇺🇸 $1399, in the UK 🇬🇧 £1150.

    Hello Ben,
    I have been following your channel for a while now. I have developed tinnitus in my left ear in April 2021 and am working through the long process of working out what caused it (we think my moderate hearing loss) and how to manage it. The P90 and P70 have been recommended for me but you are right, the price is high. Are you able to do a comparison between to two?
    Kindly,
    Tarryn

    I had Unitron with the intermediary device for Bluetooth. I could be on a conference call on the computer and a text message on the phone would still beep in the hearing aid. I bought Phonak Paradise about 3 months ago. Phonak claims I can have two active Bluetooth connections, but that is not true. I do not get notification from one, when I am using the other. If I hang up from one, I have to stop and restart Bluetooth on the other to make it switch. Having Bluetooth direct to the hearing aid is very nice, but the Udirect intermediary device worked much better.
    With that said, I can hear much better in many situations with my Phonak Paradise hearing aids than I could with seven year old technology. Meeting rooms where I work do not have good acoustics. The auto compensation for the rooms reverb is a GREAT help for me. I had to buy the top of the line to get that feature, but it is well worth it.

    Thx for vid, good sir. My mom thought she was gonna have to pay like $4800 or 3800ish, forgot, but the post office insurance paid 100% of cost and she's retired. So that was huge. Pretty basic. They're like expensive premium earbuds. Literally. And now with Bluetooth technology in last few yrs, these are too cool.

    I’m looking at getting some paradise p90-r or even rt, but my main concern is the battery. All lithium batteries have a useful lifetime, and I will certainly outlive the battery, so I’m looking for one that allows you to replace the lithium battery when the time comes; do these have any way to replace that lithium button-cell or are these made in a way that getting to it is a destructive process?

    unfortunately I just recently lost hearing in my left ear and have almost perfect hearing in my right ear. I don’t like the fact that the cros system with the Phonak doesn’t work with the app. I am trying out the Premium and they are not working well for me at all. It does not seem to block the background noise at all. The sound quality is awful. my cheap earbud for music had 1,000% better sound quality. It even seems like the mic direction is off. I pick up sounds from the other room but can’t hear someone right in front of me or next to me (on my left side).

    Hello Ben ,
    I started having tinnitus and was diagnosed in July 2021. I have used many different head phones, AirPods, etc to do sound therapy. The sound therapy works but the AirPods are uncomfortable and inconvenience to wear all day. I also have a slight hearing loss in my right hear with the tinnitus. Which option would be good for me ? I feel like after watching the hearing aid would be better than the masker since I like to stream my own sounds. Also would I just do it for my one ear ?

      I wear hearing aids, glasses, and a mask. Yes, it is a little tricky, and bulky as well. But not bad enough to give up any of those. I would, however, suggest a mask with thinner loops, and put your glasses on last when possible.

    Does an audiologist need a prescription or can you go in and get tested and leave with an adjusted hearing aid?

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  2 года назад

      An audiologist needs a current hearing test to determine your hearing prescription. Yes, an audiologist can test your hearing thresholds and adjust your hearing aid(s) during the same visit. Be sure to request this to ensure appropriate appointment types/length of time.

    Can hissing be eliminated from the Paradise HAs?

    • @treblehealth
      @treblehealth  8 месяцев назад

      The Paradise hearing aids have a tinnitus sound generator that is accessible through the programming software. Your hearing healthcare provider would have to activate it. Remember, when using sound therapy, we don't want to mask the tinnitus, rather set the sound therapy below the volume of the tinnitus.
