I love that even two years later, Darwin is still sort of a mascot to the channel.
I like the Darwin figure, for some reason. I only bought him so I could do the build a figure, but I actually kind of like it. I use it as the Morlock Caliban.

I have no nostalgia for the og show and I shed a tear during episode 5, the final episodes were jaw dropping. The show surpassed all my expectations
It was very solid and I came in with low expectations.

My local Walmart's distribution is very strange. They have 5 of this guy, one black suit Magneto, and 2 Storms. They haven't even got that Retro Spider-Man wave in.

Great review as always! But I gotta ask just a general question for you and the community as a whole. Do you think Hasbo is getting a little too obsessed with these "retro" style card backs? It's neat and all, but at this point they are just selling these for $25-$27 a piece with no BAF and basically all reused body molds. (Obviously this figure is an exception)
It seems like, per usual Hasbro style, they are ripping off collectors and no one is saying anything about it. I'd be happy to hear what anybody thinks about this.
It's definitely just a way for them to save money. I only like it when they're actually an homage to a retro figure
Most of these figures hardly have accessories either.
Disney has disappointed me so much with Marvel recently that i didnt expect much from the xmen cartoon. But it was amazing.

The cylinder on the end of the weapon is supposed to be there, though it looks a bit different in the show.
I grew up on these cartoons in the 90s and X-Men 97 blew me away even though I had very gaurded expectations. Absolutely loved what they did with it.
In Toronto, X-Cutioner can be found everywhere! It's honestly a well done action figure. It's a new mold, has great accessories, and it's very accurate to the "X-Men 97" series. You seriously NEED to watch it!
I am so happy to have him in my X-Men villains display. He was quite the villain you want to hate in episode 2 against Storm and Magneto. I'll let you see for yourself lol
I'm only a collector of retro X-Men heroes and villains. I'm also not a fan of cel shading or over-realistic action figures...so this figure is just right for me!
The clear piece is supposed to stay on the gun. It’s part of the design in the show but they should have used promo images with it like that.
I got all these from BBTS a few months ago but I have seen them at Targets around the state.
Bbts sold out of the "good" ones last i checked. No luck at my targets.
@@AnthonysCustoms Goblin queen is still on amiami ( last time i checked there were three left), albeit for $30 + shipping , nightcrawler and jean too ,all of them around the same price , still not that bad of a price compared to ebay,etc

X-cutioner sounded pretty goofy when I first heard it. ...but after saying it to myself a couple different ways, it oddly became kinda cool. I think it's how you anunciate the name that makes a different... what I'm trying to explain is extremely hard, via text. Lol! Sik

QotD 2: Hes suppose to Execute the X-men… X-cutioner……… tbh most of the OG Marvel/DC Hero and Villain names are either bland or incredibly bad. Par the course.
Question of the day 1: I really enjoyed the series, the art style had moments that weirded me out but it grew on me and it was fun tuning in weekly.
Question of the day 2: Yeah, it’s a silly or feels very 90’s-ish of a name.
I really wanna pick this guy up too, been hoping those clothes don’t limit his articulation. This figure really would’ve benefited by some cloth goods, or why not put hinges on the clothes for his scarf or the lower parts of his coat.

As of 6/1/24, Jean Grey and Night Crawler are on Hasbro Pulse for regular price. The Goblin Queen is at GameStop for regular price and Cyclops is hard to get. Entertainment Earth might get it back in stock in July. He’s going for too much everywhere else.
Loved the show. Maybe too much going on. It’s like they didn’t know if a second season would be green lit and smooshed 5 years of stuff into 8 episodes.
His name is so 90’s. It’s something I’d name my D&D characters when I was 13.
I get the vibe that they wanted to do a lot more, but either wanted to get him out fast or didn’t wanna make him a BAF. I do feel that they tried their best for a 25$ fig

Yes and yes to the questions of the day. I think X-Men '97 is getting a little overrated because I see a lot of "amazing" and such superlatives thrown its way, but it is indeed quite good. I think a lot of people had low expectations and it exceeded them. Some pacing issues and a few throwaway plots or plots that were underserved, but a damn good time and it's fun seeing a continuation rather than a reboot of the old show. This guy, unfortunately, only appears in one episode. I thought maybe he would be a villain throughout, but it wasn't to be. I always thought he looked pretty cool going back to the 90s comics, even if his name is stupid. I swear the writers and actors both looked at the name on paper and said "We're not calling him that," as they just went with "Executioner," which is fine. And since his rifle "kills" the X gene in mutants it's a fitting name. I didn't get the figure though, even though it and Magneto were the only two from the second wave that seemed to linger on pegs much, as I just don't need this character in plastic. It looks fine though.

I've been anticipating for xmen cartoon show for years! Yet I haven't seen it yet... The hype is kinda overwhelming me, I will eventually watch it though.
I'm waiting until it's over so i can see if it's worth the time investment
I'm holding out hope that Hasbro could still make a comic-style version of this characters sometime, I'd prefer that to the flat cartoon look

This is the only figure in the first two waves that I passed on so far. I just have no interest in the character. Maybe I will after watching the show all the way through.

I was very skeptical of 97 because i hate disney for reasons i wont go into on this channel but its honestly a great show.
Haven't watched it yet but honestly I'm still skeptic, mainly because I know of the garbage modern sensibilities disney like to push in all their media nowadays (And because I've seen some of it in the show. Don't care if it's a little bit it doesn't change that it's there.).
