Yeah, about two weeks ago, they made a memorial video. He was just so weak one day, they took him to the vet and passed away. I think his organs were shutting down, is what Paul said. I'm still heart broken, he was the cutest thing.

There is NOTHING cuter than a prairie dog. I drove across country specifically bc I wanted to see a prairie dog town in Red Cloud, Nebraska - a lifetime dream for me. One of my favorite lifetime experiences.

There is an awesome prairie dog habitat at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas. If you’re ever in that part of the country, you should check it out! You can see them up very close. They’re so cute. ❤

Interweb says they live 3-4 years in the wild but up to 8 in captivity, so he's getting up there for sure.

@tweetybeetweetybea9652 Someone correct me where I am wrong, but he had previous owners that weren't good. He ended up with a bad infection in his arm. It was obviously removed shortly before they got him I believe.

Our sweet little boy Paxton was Neglected by his past owners And Had to have A Amputation done But he's starting to feel much better And he's in the most loving home that he could ever possibly be in. I truly thank God for them Bc All of God's creations deserve to be unconditionally loved ❤
Okay, how many animals have you rescued? Prayers are nothing if you don't back them up with actions. At the very least, send a check to an organization of your choice.

Yep, all animals. Any pig, cow, rabbit or dog deserves this kindness. It's easy to stop actively supporting animal abuse by going vegan.

There are a lot of different animals that make a home where the vegetables for vegan food are farmed, so in turn they are considered pestsand proceed to get obliterated to produce your vegan food. Please don't. They are very high energy and do not make good pets at all. This is the opposite reaction you should have. They are prairie dogs! Meaning they love a lot of space digging is what they love and have huge family units. can you provide at least 10 acres of dirt for tunnels?

I live in South Dakota I always loved seeing them, fast forward to 2000, moved to Florida and a pet store had one not for sale but they let people hold him, sadly someone dropped him and he died, I was so saddened because until I found this site I hadn’t seen them anymore ❤️❤️❤️

He doesn't know he's lost it & he will mentally feel it's still there. Same with dogs, some can't use their rear legs so they have a pair of wheels & they just think it's normal. Only humans that realise their limbs have gone.
@@seltaeb3302 i don't think that last sentence is true at all. in a cases like Paxtons, where he dealt with a lot of pain in his limb before it was removed, i think he'd notice once it stops hurting, and once he can no longer lean on it while walking. no, he might not understand that it was infected and that it was removed for his safety or anything like that, but if he turns his head a little, he'll see nothing where it once was to help him do normal tasks. animals aren't as clueless as you think.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Animals are more resilient than people. I had a dog that was completely blind for the last 3 years of her life, it didn't change her a bit.
