Thank you so much for uploading this to RUclips Peter Sissons is one of the best presenters who used to present national programmes such as the network bulletins and Question Time.
This was 8 days before the BBC launched their new look to BBC News, a look which in one way has remained ever since. In fact, Studio N2, where Peter was reading the news here, had the new set all built into the studio, and was quite a squeeze, having old and new sets side by side.
@@aliwright1016 thanks for your reply. maybe it was a blessing that they passed on when they did, particularly in Ollie's case. I don't think he would have liked the way the world has become, he wouldn't have got today's culture.
That Celtic v Rangers game sounded absolute mayhem! 3 red cards, the referees bleeding on the floor, one blokes stretched off for falling from the stands, multiple arrests and then a stabbing to finish it off! Unbelievable 🙈
What a classy man. I wouldnt have wanted to head into the 21st century either if I had known anything back then haha. Cant even have a drink at the bar, let alone afford it, what's the point?

Thank you for uploading this. Also Oliver Reed was a great hell-raiser (1938-1999)
Back before social media ruined the world
Peter Sissons was a great reader on all channels. ITN was probably the best for him

Back when the news wasn't depressing as hell.
yeah, just a cheerful nail-bombing spree as the first story lol
"Colourful escapades".....that is putting it mildly.
Wow- I cant believe I'd ever say this but... I actually kind of miss Sissons!
I miss all those presenters like Michael Buerk, Martyn Lewis, Nick Witchell, Sue Lawley, Andrew Harvey. They had what you might call a quiet gravitas.
I love watching these old bulletins
RIP Ollie Reed & also more recently, Peter Sissons 1942 - 2019.
RIP to both legends in our time xx

A terrible change in my opinion. It had gravitas until May 1999. Afterwards it was more child-like and un-serious.

The Celtic and Rangers fans are animals. Even long before the this match in 1999 through to the current day.
