I'm really liking the new RDX except for one thing. I like the A-spec look but I want the 360 degree camera and HUD. I don't understand the reason to reduce options on what is an aesthetics package like the A-spec.
I think it was really important for Acura to keep this car under 50k sticker price. For the Advance with ASPEC and SHAWD they would have pushed it past.
I've driven cars with HUD and own one with surround view now. I wouldn't call them deal killers. I rarely use the surround view, and I park in a tight condo garage at times. And if your car has a digital speed readout (this does) the HUD is almost superfluous. You see it and it's nice to have but you don't use it a lot.
That’s my dilemma. I want all those options on the A-Spec! I’m thinking of just getting the Advanced and changing the wheels and blacking out the chrome.
Test drove 2018 BMW X3 XDrive 30i (4 cylinder turbo), 2019 Volvo XC 60 T5 Inscription and 2019 Acura RDX. Acura beats both BMW and Volvo in luxury, technology and overall performance. It is absolutely no-brainer which one to buy in the category of compact luxury SUVs under $50K. Acura delivers on torque, on smoothness of delivery of torque and power, in cornering and overall maneuverability, it has the best steering wheel out of all three vehicles, with the right amount of heaviness, heft and road feedback. It has the best road noise isolation, and the best seats and leather upholstery, beating even the newly redesigned Volvo... The only place where Acura falls short is fuel economy--it has pretty thirsty engine, but it can run on regular gasoline unlike the other two (I know, I am leasing 2019 RDX Tech package)... Sure, one can buy more powerful engine, like turbocharged 3.0 V6 in BMW and both turbo-charged and supercharged T6 in Volvo, or even the 400 hp T8 hybrid system in Volvo, but the actual fun factor of driving the vehicle is not going to change much in my opinion, with Volvo's power delivery being very lumpy (turbo-lag), its steering being very light, and with BMW's long hood and aggressively bolstered, hard bucket seats... Also, price and cost of ownership, including the maintenance and long-term reliability, is always a factor, where Acura, again, delivers big...
"Sure, one can buy more powerful engine, like turbocharged 3.0 V6 in BMW ..." which doesn't exist. But not being anywhere near a "car guy," you would not know that. Truly a fantastic vehicle. My father and I kinda went in halfsies with this vehicle. We bought the RDX with Tech Package for about 42K and I can't even describe how much I love this SUV. We almost bought a new Audi Q5, very glad we didn't.

The acceleration in Q5 with dual clutch beats the crap out of this one. Audi is much more fun to drive but this is the car to keep. Lease V buy difference
+CAM AUTO well I guess the Accord and Odyssey both were designed on a Monday morning too cause they don't have LED turning indicators in the tail lights & they were both redesigned after the CR-V & are more expensive lol

Long time subscriber of yours. Love the work you do. I did find it interesting that you have measured 0-60 at 5.7s and 5.9s with your equipment. Have you had it calibrated? The reason I ask the question is because Car and Driver reported 6.6s and Motortrend reported 6.4s. Similarly you can find threads on acurazine were owners reported noticeably slower 0-60 times vs previous generation. The observed fuel economy as well as acceleration numbers are significantly worse than previous generation of RDX despite what published numbers may suggest. Previous generation RDX did extremely well with ability to shut down 3 cylinders. The real world numbers have shown it is more fuel efficient on freeway than even CR-V! www.motortrend.com/news/rdx-vs-cr-v-5-reasons-splurge-acura-5-go-honda/ Though overall I really like the interior of new RDX. I think I am crazy as I like it more than X5m. I don't recall how the materials felt when I was inside at the auto show (was really impressed by volvo upper trim) but judging by the looks it is very appealing.
You have to understand something: Norm T. is world renowned for his behavior. He talks about Buicks like this on every thread known to man on the internet. Obviously some behavioral issues going on there. I say that not to persecute but just to let you know that what you're seeing is NOT normal, average Joe advice. Don't believe me? Go look and see. Why just in this thread alone, how many times do you see it?
Actually, I looked at a review of the Envision---I didn't know it was a Buick. I would never buy or even look at a Buick. In my opinion GM makes unreliable products. Moreover, when the AUW took over control (@ GM bankruptcy) I essentially scratched off that company from the list of possible carmakers I would ever look at.
@@10tenman10 the Envision has always been recommended by Consumer Reports where this new RDX never was. The Envision 2.0T is a much better handling cuv in CR testing that RDX.

I recently traded in my 2021 Acura RDX (SH-AWD + Technology) after 3 months of ownership. The reason being the shallow hatch height of 30”, which prevented me from putting in a full-size dog crate that’s 31” tall, and could not fit even my medium-sized mountain bike within the hatch area. These are just regular use cases and Acura’s design team need to be fired for not considering these. The 2022 MDX, a much larger vehicle, also has the same 30” hatch height problem. For comparison, the Honda CRV’s hatch is 36” tall (a sheer marvel in packaging) and the Honda Pilot and Honda Passport have 33-34” of hatch height. I now own a 2021 Honda Passport Touring, which meets all of my utility vehicle needs……can easily fit the dog crate, can easily swallow up the mountain bike. Having said that, Acura is not the only culprit here…….the Subaru Ascent, the Subaru Forester, the Subaru Crosstrek, the Toyota RAV4 are all in the unusably shallow hatch height category and it is a shame to call these utility vehicles, if they cannot cater to such mundane use cases.
I own an RDX Advance pckg with SH-AWD, and even though everybody reviewing it says that is a smooth shifting auto trans, mine shifts quite jerky into second and third gears, almost always unless at very slow acceleration. Acura dealership says this is normal shifting in AWD. Someone has the same experience???
Excellent video, Alex. You are a rarefied automotive reviewer. I may not always agree with your perspective but I can't disagree with your method. Plus I really like this RDX!
Id still take the RWD based x40i M over this. No replacement for the real longitudinally mounted engined vehicles with 100% of power to the rear whelels all the time. Dislike that they keep making this bigger and bigger. Shiney black plastics inside look horrid. Defiantly better than the QX50 and NX
Acura RDX 2019 When it comes to living in the lap of luxury, many discerning shoppers turn to the 2019 Acura RDX when looking for a midsize crossover SUV to own. After all, the automaker claims this model provides “Polished Power at Every Turn.” Yet, current drivers argue that the engine, electrical system, powertrain, vehicle speed control and service brakes make this vehicle a lemon www.lemberglaw.com/2019-acura-rdx-problems-complaints-lemon/
This was the best and most helpful auto journalism ever!! You helped me narrow down my focus to the two top choices. Now all I need to do is crunch numbers.
I currently have a Mercedes GLC. I am interested in switching to this, however, based on your comments in the section on the Volvo competitor, it seems I cannot get both the advanced safety features and the upgraded stereo in the same package. Is that correct?
Theres two upgraded sound packages. Tech gets an ELS package and then Advanced gets an upgraded 3D ELS package. 90% of the safety features are standard, blind spot monitoring is avaliable at the Tech package.
Has the 2020 RDX for a week. Great car. Smooth, good power, great balance between handling and comfort. The only thing I did not like was the infotainment is almost impossible to switch back and forth between apple car play to Spotify, XM radio etc. I had a front passenger so the control. So weirdthey couldn'tget it right. Our old X3, so much easier.. Other than that, I like the RDX.
Alex, this is one of the best reviews you've done. Really liked the last section where you compared and contrasted how you can equip other options and how they compare. Excellent detail!
I'm a guy who rarely comments! This guy knows his stuff. This is the kind of explanation I was looking for. Subscribed & will definitely recommend this channel to others as well. Keep up the great work 👍
Nice review and nice car. Just MHO, for all the quality and performance, the dash and controls are really for a 20-something. Not tasteful, too much trim, too noisy, too plastic-y looking. That gaping slot all for a knob to control the driving dynamics is a little much taking up 1/3 of what could be useful space. Volvo does it in a far better way for a wide range of age-drivers with the XC40. BMW, MB and Audi also do that annoying design that looks like someone melted an iPad into the dash. Doesn't look integrated, looks like an afterthought. Nice vehicle, but not a place I want to sit.
The 2019 RDX cannot be a Luxury Crossover without folding side mirrors and no lights illuminating the handles. This Vehicle uses 93 octane and you still have to push in the side mirrors. SMH!!
I started with Honda as a consultant 5 weeks ago, so for the first time have been looking at how they package their vehicles. It seems that Honda like to keep things simple for the buyer. Three grades of trim/equipment and two engines choices for the petrols. Outside the three grades, there aren't too many options to pick because each grade has very intelligent equipment bundling at that price point. What you want at that price point is there already.
Honda has almost always been simple when it comes to combinations offered. Their worst offense in the past was limiting interior/exterior color combinations to a ridiculous degree. Back when I shopped an Accord several years ago if you wanted a silver car you got a black interior, period. This vehicle is similar, but at least offers two options or more per exterior color.
Bruno Ta Ta. Single choice of interior colour is ridiculous. Esspecially at the mid-range and above, people want to be able to customise their cars, and nothing customises more than colour because it's everywhere.
There are diff ways to measure cargo capacity. Acura uses a more volume friendly measurement than many others. So I'm not sure you're correct about it holding more than the X3 and Lexus RX. I've driven and looked at the new RDX and it's toward the top of my list for next vehicles but the hatch didn't seem as big as our RX despite the "cu ft" quoted numbers.
Looking to buy one of these used pretty soon. I like to pick up just out of lease models in cars so that's 2021 of course not 2019, but still, generally seems like the same car :) Thanks for the review!
Great review, Alex! You didn't mention what mode you were driving in. Since the Advanced has adaptive suspension, wondering if the ride would be smoother in Comfort mode - if you weren't driving in that,
I like my 2020 rdx. Fun to drive, turbo is thirsty tho.Take high test gas which does not help. Lots if buttons to push, getting sick of idle stop button. Brakes are awsome! ; And I'm an d volvo guy.
I absolutely love the car and your review Alex. But how is it that you are showing us an Advance model with black wheels? Must be the $2000 optional 19 inch wheels?
That is correct. With cars like this they are often still working on option packages up to the end. So Acura was deciding between making the black wheels a factory option vs a dealer option and ended up with the latter but had already made cars for the press fleet.
Buyer beware. JULY 11, 2019 - An Acura RDX infotainment lawsuit alleges the systems suffer from problems with the radios, backup cameras and the audio and navigation systems. The 2019-2020 RDX SUVs are allegedly a danger to drive because of the distractions caused by the infotainment problems. According to the plaintiffs named in the lawsuit, the infotainment systems were a big reason they purchased the RDX vehicles, and now they wish they wouldn't have purchased the SUVs. One plaintiff claims the RDX infotainment system started causing him problems within days of buying the vehicle. The system allegedly would take up to a minute for the audio to start playing, so he called the dealership and was told everything was normal. The plaintiff also claims voice commands are frequently unavailable and the infotainment system freezes and shuts off while he is driving. According to the plaintiff, the promise of Android Auto was important to him but it's been 10 months since he purchased the RDX and still no software update has been released containing Android Auto. The lawsuit says Acura's previous dual-screen infotainment system was a combination of direct touch, buttons and a dial. But when the third generation Acura RDX was released in 2018, it was equipped with a new single high definition 10.2-inch display controlled by a touchpad. According to the proposed class action lawsuit, Acura knew the systems were defective before any of the RDX SUVs were sold. In addition, the plaintiffs say since the vehicles were sold, drivers have constantly complained about the problems. "This has happened to me multiple times (10 or more). I'm happily cruising along with my CarPlay running waze, Pandora and my radio will just stop working and the display stops showing CarPlay information. Another variation is I'm on the phone connected to CarPlay and I can place and receive calls but half the time no one can hear me speak (I can hear them)." "My vehicle is hardly 6 months old and the infotainment stop working 3 times with 6000+ miles. The dealer mechanic doesn't bother bring the vehicle into the shop, they come out, disconnect the battery for a minute or two then reconnect the battery and the system is back on. Next time that happens, I would ask the service manager to document it." Infotainment systems are known as severe distractions to drivers even when the systems work as intended, but the RDX lawsuit alleges a system that continually malfunctions takes the distractions to a whole new level. Acura has allegedly failed to inform the public about the alleged infotainment systems problems and continues to manufacture, market and sell the SUVs with the defective systems. Furthermore, Honda/Acura has allegedly been unable to find solutions to fix the infotainment systems and dealerships typically tell customers to wait for software updates. In some cases, technicians will replace allegedly defective parts with the same defective parts which leaves drivers in an endless cycle of problems and repairs. According to the lawsuit, Honda and Acura dealers routinely tell RDX customers to refrain from bringing the SUVs to the dealerships because there is no way to repair the infotainment systems. The proposed nationwide class action lawsuit alleges at least 100,000 model year 2019-2020 Acura RDX SUVs are affected by the infotainment systems. The Acura RDX infotainment lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division - Banh, et al., v. American Honda Motor Co. The plaintiffs are represented by Hagens Berman, Goldenberg Schneider, and Niekamp, Weisensell, Mutersbaugh & Mastrantonio. CarComplaints.com has owner-reported complaints about Acura RDX SUVs and many other Acura vehicles.
@@Fadic4 not completely new like I have been repeating for almost 3-years now. Stop drinking Honda Koolaid! Acura says the same for the RDX, but it also revealed that its crossover “is based on a common platform that underpins other vehicles, including the CR-V.” This “common platform” is modified for use in the RDX and “is engineered much differently to fulfill the unique performance requirements set for RDX and the Acura brand.” Additionally, Acura noted that while many of its cars are on different platforms, “there are some similar construction materials and methods (high strength steel, high-performance adhesive, roller hemming for the panoramic roof, etc.)” that it uses across its lineup. @Norm T Clueless norm, don’t reply back without answering these 5 questions. is the suspension the same? Is the engine the same? Is the awd system the same? Is the transmission the same? Is the interior the same? You pretty much destroy your own arguments with your own comments. “Is engineered much differently” Thanks for clarifying the major difference between them. LOL. Honda koolaid? Says the guy trying to get people to buy a 45k sedan based on a Camaro platform with GM parts bin interior. LOL. Go apply for a job at a Mercedes dealership, maybe you’ll actually have some vehicles you can compare to the japanese. I also love how you replied to a 2 year old comment, are you getting destroyed by other people too much in the other videos because of how clueless you are? You have to come to an inactive comment section just so people don’t call you out for being such a clown. LOL. Try harder BOY.
Tully3674 because only Lexus and Acura are allowed to rebadge a RAV4 or CRV and call it luxury. As soon as Lincoln does it with the Escape (which gets stellar reviews) it is a problem. I’m not saying Alex does this (his reviews are usually really good) but most other magazines/reviews take money from mfg. Hence, Germans get all the kudos despite not making the best products.
Excellent description and analysis as usual. You almost convinced me I need to buy although I loathe SUV in general for their driving experience. Twin Turbo V6 seems like it would be a little too nose heavy though. But I am the type of guy that would probably succumb to an X3 M4.0i in this segment.
Acura always gives more standard features than the others and in order to get the same or better in the other competitors they will go over 50k pushing 60k
Norm T I still think that it beats all the overpriced competitors that u pay for the brand name and you have to pay many features that should be standard So overall the RDX is the best

Another informative & organized review Alex, I think you need to review some of weird and prestige cars to add more attraction and diversity to your channel. Wish you more success.
Why does nobody that reviews the RDX ever talk about the CLUNK that happens when the auto stop/start starts the engine again? I drove the 2020 RDX w/Advance package and actually thought someone had bumped into the car while at a traffic light. I know you can turn that crap off, but dang, it sucked IMO. I'm only commenting on this 2019 review since it's pretty close to the 2020 and there aren't too many 2020 reviews yet. Also, when you slide the armrest forward, you had better hope only ONE of you want to use the cup holder since the armrest in the forward position actually blocks the rear-most cup holder. Not a big problem unless you prefer it be like MOST other vehicles that do not do that.
I have 21 awd tech package. Great size and practical , handles great and good motor - wish it had audi 7 speed though. My biggest complaint is city fuel economy around 18-19 mpg- well below stated and below my MDX awd with v6.
The interior is nice, exterior not at all. it looks like any other car, it's luxury so it supposed to stand out. THAT'S WHY I GOT THE INFINITI QX50. BETTER LOOKING CAR.
I had looked at the 2018 and 2019 RDX at the dealer, and bought a 2018 AWD. I liked the look of the 2019 outside but I hated the black carps all over on the A-Spec. I chose the 2018 because it still had functional easy to use knobs, dials, (no confusing screen) and a real drive shifter. The V-6 and the 6 speed was smooth and fast. The only thing missing was the SH-AWD on the 2018. Acura should have retained the V-6 and the 6 speed.
I agree 100%. We just bought a 2018 over a 2020 for the V6 and 6 speed. Acura's RDX had a real advantage over the competition and now is just another turbo 4 banger.
just bought Acura RDX 2019 in three weeks it gave me the transmission issue! I had to tow it to dealer and they had to replace the shifter assembly!! So much for Acura Reliability after spending $50k on the car!!
Yes, yes, because Honda never builds a car with a flaw. Every one must be perfect. I get it, it sucks, but to try to say the cars aren't generally reliable because you had a problem is silly. Which manufacturer makes 100% problem free cars?
Quick question - why you mentioned GM 9 speed? I thought Acura used ZF 9 speeds in other models like TLX and Pilot No commonality is for worse - spare parts will be more expensive
RB Zee...and 2019 Buick Envision 2.0T with 295 lb-ft of torque. Car & Driver just tested the 2019 RDX 2.0T and it was almost a half second slower to 60 mph than the 2018 RDX V6.
That's not the base Envision. Alex says the 2019 RDX is faster than the 2018 and only .4 sec slower than the Stelvio. I've been watching AOA for years and trust him.
RB Zee Car & Driver has the faster adjusted time to 60 mph at 6.6s. Consumer Reports got 7.0s. In the C&D test the 60-100 mph time is similar to 2017 Buick Envision 2.0T with less power. So when the 2019 Envision 2.0T get 35 more lb-ft of torque and three more speeds in the transmission Acura may be the slowest again.
Why do some manufacturers (typically the Japanese ones) insist on a 60-40 split second row and a 40-20-40 splits is so much more useful, especially when you want to carry skis and 4 passengers ? It's such a shame as it's a deal breaker.
v6 twin turbo would be sweet. if they went with an inline 6 electric supercharger, i would be the fist one at the dealership even with that hideous interior.

I would just like to be able to buy an up-level suv without a frelling sunroof/moonroof. Higher initial cost, reduced head room, and after a few years moonroofs become a cleaning and maintenance headache. And, oh yes, there is also the exploding sunroof issue (according to Consumer Reports).

X3 is cheap than RDX if you know how to buy.
Lol my mom was thinking of buying a Lexus NX but Acura RDX ain’t even comparing with Lexus it’s being compared with BMW, Audi and Mercedes.
Agree with the Lexus NX diagnosis. Cramped and overpriced for what it is
10tenman10 A Envision 2.0T can be had for $12,000 less than NX. Still under the new RDX.
Norm T
Thanks. I'll look it up. Not familiar with the Envision.
The Engine Output Chart comparison is definitely gold. You are on the damn right way doing this!
wait 2-3 years and get a certified preowned for $25,000.

THANK YOU for showing the SH-AWD display I have been waiting for someone to do that!

The reason why an Aspec is an Aspec is because its the most sportiest, and the highest performance model they have.. I don't think those reviewers got that, and trust me I've already watched that channel a lot.
@@Jjj-jl4pc Aspec is an appearance package only. It offers no performance or handling upgrade. I guess the wider 255 tires offer slightly better handling, but that's about it.
You can verify this information easily here www.acura.com/rdx/pricing-and-specs
Under both powertrain and chassis, all RDX are identical. The Aspec simply gets blacked out accents and trim pieces, as well as red interior option and red ambient lighting. I think they look great, but those things don't really improve performance or handling, do they?
I think you have an error on the Advance trims tires, they should also be 235/55R19 Continentals. Only the A-SPEC has the 255/45R20 tires.
The A-Spec looks SO good in silver. Not that I love silver, but this car looks amazing in silver with the A-Spec.
Acura RDX 2019
When it comes to living in the lap of luxury, many discerning shoppers turn to the 2019 Acura RDX when looking for a midsize crossover SUV to own. After all, the automaker claims this model provides “Polished Power at Every Turn.” Yet, current drivers argue that the engine, electrical system, powertrain, vehicle speed control and service brakes make this vehicle a lemon
www.lemberglaw.com/2019-acura-rdx-problems-complaints-lemon/
If I want a Acura?? This is my choice Alex.
This was the best and most helpful auto journalism ever!! You helped me narrow down my focus to the two top choices. Now all I need to do is crunch numbers.
I like this style of answering some viewer questions in the review since you covered the major stuff in the first part.
Firm ride is good in this segment. As long as it isn't harsh. You can go buy a RAV4 if you want cushy soft (and sloppy).
Bruno TaTa Consumer Reports said drivers and passe gers complained about the firm ride.
Would you go for the 2019 RDX or the 2019 Countryman S All4 ? I'm considering both but hard to decide!
Never heard you say something sucked until this video, nice!
I currently have a Mercedes GLC. I am interested in switching to this, however, based on your comments in the section on the Volvo competitor, it seems I cannot get both the advanced safety features and the upgraded stereo in the same package. Is that correct?
JazzFan74 keep the Mercedes in my opinion
Jazzfan the advanced safety features are standard on all models. The 3D sound system is available on the A-spec and Advanced trim levels
Farhad Raof The Buick Envision Premium 2.0T will have the best ride quality and offer best handling in testing.
Great review. I was hoping for comparison of the new 10 speed to the famous 8 speed ZF that is in a lot of Germans. Could you please comment on that?
Alex, this is one of the best reviews you've done. Really liked the last section where you compared and contrasted how you can equip other options and how they compare. Excellent detail!
He has been doing this type of comparison for a long time!
I must say, the comparison scene in this video was exceptioanally valuable and well researched. Quite impressive, only this quality content from Alex!
I'm a guy who rarely comments! This guy knows his stuff. This is the kind of explanation I was looking for. Subscribed & will definitely recommend this channel to others as well. Keep up the great work 👍
Big mistake giving up the v6
Hi Alex, great review. 👍
Quick question do you feel the Mazda CX-5 has the more compliant ride?
Thank you.
Ew, I hate how Japanese brands always re-use parts from older models, those mirrors are ripped off an older honda product.
10:35. Rebecca St. James 😂 oh my gosh. I’m dead. Bringing me back to church in the late 90’s.
The 2019 RDX cannot be a Luxury Crossover without folding side mirrors and no lights illuminating the handles. This Vehicle uses 93 octane and you still have to push in the side mirrors. SMH!!
A much improved RDX but well-equipped it's tipping towards $50K. A fine long term purchase, but nothing special if you trade every 3-4 years or lease.
Alex which model of the rdx is your pick/best buy?
Man LISTEN you have one of the most HONEST , COMPREHENSIVE, INFORMATIVE COMPARISON ON YOU TUBE, I GLAD IM A SUBIE
Karl P Acura is near luxury just like Envision 2.0T, just missing features and for 2019 295 lb-ft of torque.
Everyone wants that certain toy and on a Honda that toy is always on the Touring edition.
The part I can’t get past on the Buick before I ever go and check one out is the looks. I wouldn’t drive a slightly fatter looking Encore.
Alex when you going to get a chance to compare this to the turbo charged Mazda cx 5. Thanks
The information you give in all your videos is amazing. It’s is very satisfactory to see your reviews. Keep it going !
I like that you compare cars
Leave it to Acura to screw up the RDX. No shifter, no 6 cylinder, and ugly GMC tail lights. Prefer the 1st and the second generation.
Dropping the V6 was a huge mistake.
I think the new Rdx is by far the most best.
Alex on Autos Do you like it with the black wheels? What about the 20 inch option? Good or bad?
The hidden compartment tells me that this model will have the hybrid version later. The space will be used for holding the batteries.
Another variation is I'm on the phone connected to CarPlay and I can place and receive calls but half the time no one can hear me speak (I can hear them)."
"My vehicle is hardly 6 months old and the infotainment stop working 3 times with 6000+ miles. The dealer mechanic doesn't bother bring the vehicle into the shop, they come out, disconnect the battery for a minute or two then reconnect the battery and the system is back on. Next time that happens, I would ask the service manager to document it."
Infotainment systems are known as severe distractions to drivers even when the systems work as intended, but the RDX lawsuit alleges a system that continually malfunctions takes the distractions to a whole new level.
Is this for real? Never heard from buyers. I'd like to buy this SUV but now I need to reconsider.
狗妈贴贴 Yes. It’s for real.
@@noahboy6349 2019 model or 2020 model? I wonder if Acura has fixed those issues or not.

Acura says the same for the RDX, but it also revealed that its crossover “is based on a common platform that underpins other vehicles, including the CR-V.” This “common platform” is modified for use in the RDX and “is engineered much differently to fulfill the unique performance requirements set for RDX and the Acura brand.”
Additionally, Acura noted that while many of its cars are on different platforms, “there are some similar construction materials and methods (high strength steel, high-performance adhesive, roller hemming for the panoramic roof, etc.)” that it uses across its lineup. Autoblog

How would you consider this to a ford explorer xlt?
Safety features should be standard like they are on Acura and Lexus. Who spend that much on luxury vehicle and skip on safety?
Peizxcv The Toyota safety systems don't always work.
I hate acura
Why, explain..
It's too damn noisy. I test drove one and it's not the MDX. Very noisy. I'm old. I need peace and quiet not sone kids raving up an engine
Look at a low mileage 2018 RDX. last year of the smooth and quiet V6.
The ratio spread on that 10-speed is a pretty amazing 10 (5.25 to 0.52). Most 8-speeds have a spread of 7.5 or so.
Yippee it’s a beige interior! I like that console too.
I have 21 awd tech package. Great size and practical , handles great and good motor - wish it had audi 7 speed though. My biggest complaint is city fuel economy around 18-19 mpg- well below stated and below my MDX awd with v6.
Rdx very nice SUV but mpg sucks
The black wheels are hideous.

@@ThePdxster 2018 RDX is simply outdated
just bought Acura RDX 2019 in three weeks it gave me the transmission issue! I had to tow it to dealer and they had to replace the shifter assembly!! So much for Acura Reliability after spending $50k on the car!!
How's it holding up now?
Yes, yes, because Honda never builds a car with a flaw. Every one must be perfect. I get it, it sucks, but to try to say the cars aren't generally reliable because you had a problem is silly. Which manufacturer makes 100% problem free cars?
Quick question - why you mentioned GM 9 speed? I thought Acura used ZF 9 speeds in other models like TLX and Pilot
No commonality is for worse - spare parts will be more expensive
Well equipped x3 under 50k
The Stelvio is the only base CUV with more power than the '19 RDX.
