Hi everyone! This week it's time for a new episode of "My Classic Tire", featuring the "OK Starmiler", and our 1941 Plymouth! Then, a round of "The Compression is Right!", because I was wondering how bad the Frazer engine really is, so it might as well become a game? A short episode of "Lite Hits" follows, and then another big piece goes together for the 1960 Fury! . Thanks also to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments! If you would like to help keep our channel going, you can get a sticker, hat or a coffee mug at: www.coldwarmotors.com Or, please feel free to check out our Patreon page at : www.Patreon.com/coldwarmotors where we have extra videos and pictures and a bunch of people hanging out and bs-ing about cars!
Lords of the clunker, chieftains of rust. We'll make it run or for goddamn sure bust. The points are past totaled, the plugs ain't no better. But rough as they are, they don't beat my sweater. The Unknown Poet, JPL Editor's note: Well, The Poet ain't one to comment on wardrobe. And the little rat bastard ain't bathed since he was hatched.
Sooo much work goes into that stainless. But for cars from about '58 to '64 it's all about stainless. The fury will look fantastic the way you're going. It would really show if you weren't doing what you do. Thanks for sharing
With a clatter of tappets, a cloud of oil smoke, and a hearty "Hi-Ho Frazier!" Can Scott save the day before the engine mounts fail completely? Tune in and see!
This video features both of my favourites of Scott's cars: The Frazer and the '60 Fury. That Frazer engine was built using the best metallurgy knowledge of the time, I think. The old rings still hold compression. That trim piece placement on the Fury was a tough one. It made me wonder how hard it must have been to do that on a moving assembly line. The Fury is a work of art. Scott is an artist for sure.
The sound of pushing that trim onto the quarter panel with brand new paint just sends chills up my back. The sound itself doesn't bother me, it's the thought of wrecking that new paint that gets me
The Plymouth is beautiful. I'm probably going to make MOPAR fans mad, BUT I remember those cars when they were new. Great styling, wonderful mechanics, and shoddy assembly. The door handles came off in your hand, the windows never closed completely and there was always a whistle from the weatherstripping where it had been put on incorrectly. SO this car you have built from the ground up is a "Newstead' original. What a great job. It takes a lot to put me in awe, but you fellows have done it. Can't wait to see the upholstery!
Hey Scott been watching for about 7 years. Saw everything from the 59 impala coming to the yard to picking up that rusted out citroen. You were a big reason I jumped into the classic car world! Just picked up a 65 imperial crown it's a driver and started going to the cruise nights here in Alberta. I just wanted to thank you for being an inspiration and making the work you do seem fun even tho it isn't when working 8 hours on a single piece of stainless. Keep the videos coming especially on the fury. Not that long ago that car was sitting in a corral stuck in poop. If I'm ever up north would like to stop by some day and check out the yard.
WOW The Fury sure is a puzzle. Your patience to get things just right is impressive and pays off in results. The old girl didn’t look that good when new. See ya next week.
The quintessential booze in my morning weekend coffee, cig in my grubby fingers top notch automotive show to view hungover. Don't EVER change the format, truly one of a kind.
I was wondering when the video was going to drop. I actually had to talk to my wife this afternoon...c'mon man, dont leave me in that position again next week.
The Frazier is another wonderment in the yard. I like the "Old Girl". Compression is excellent but she still knocks. I wonder if you could drop the pan and put in a new Rod bearing on the bad cylinder. The Fury chrome is a thing of beauty.
Lords of the clunker, chieftains of rust. We'll make it run or for goddamn sure bust. The points are past totaled, the plugs ain't no better. But rough as they are, they don't beat my sweater. My favorite CWM character is Agent 024 Justin. I think he's a real stand up guy. He's always around in the pinch. Seems like a really cool dude and someone I'd definitely be friends with. But like I said, he always seems to be around when shit needs to get done, even if its camera work or holding a pressure gage. Cheers Justin!
This is getting to be a nasty habit, waiting all day for the dulcet tones of my favourite Canadian mechanical engineer and the agents ensemble Keep up the great work and this epic adventure Charge and chips - I’m learnin the lingo
The yellow Mercury Capri and Agent 4261's 1965 impala introduced me to your channel, which was when I was in 9th grade. Back then I think he had cragars on it. It's nice to see that he still has it.
Oh gosh how fabulous that sweeping traverse of the full length stainless trim😁😎 love the colour, like Bowie's electric blue suit in Modern Love ,glass spider tour
I have been watching your videos for quite some time and having worked both in the Oshawa truck and car facilities of G.M. you are hands down the finest body, paint and trim man I have ever seen. I look forward to not only the completion of your Plymouth but many more excellent videos. Thank you for your time,Trevor Calhoun.
I must be ready for intervention, I hit pause twice so I wouldn’t miss any part of Scott changing a tire. It isn’t Saturday without my hit of CWM. I never dreamed that the fury would come out looking like this when I was watching two cars so different being spliced together. How does this channel not have 50 K subscribers? 🤪☮️
What I can't figure out is how the heck the assembly line people put all the trim on while the car is moving down the line. The clips alone are an engineering master piece. Wonder what the cost of production for that car is today just as it's built not a plastic replica? About the cost of a Lamborghini ?
The fit and finish on that chrome is amazing. Nerve wracking to watch with all the clips an bolts going through the body. Definitely not the beater you had planned and I am glad to see you go the extra mile. It is totally worth it to resurrect this forward look piece of art.
It is amazing how much chrome is on that Plymouth. It had to take many man-hours at the factory just to install chrome! They don’t make ‘me like that anymore!
Yeah, that tire is a bit sketchy, to say the least.... I never realized how much trim is on the '60 Plymouth Fury..... I STILL considerate the '60 Fury a show car.......You've done a TON more then a tidy, (as you say) on that car! I get the impression, Franker's might have lost interest in the Fury??
The way the stainless trim turned out on the Ply Mouth .. is simply Amazing.. It just makes that paint Jump.. Oh.. By the way... The agent working the camera when you were doing the trim on the Plymouth ? must be related to you .. Because he sounds just like you Scott... Anyway.. Carry on guys..
I’ll be looking forward to video showing the Fury’s maiden voyage. It needs to be a big event with cool music and special effects. Am I expecting too much?
So cool to see the Fury slowly coming back to it's former glory. Love those '40's sedans! Art-deco design on wheels. I love all cars, but the '30's and '40's will always be my favorite.
Wowser, better tires, better than believably compression, and better than new restored stainless. What a great video again. Thanks all you loveable Canadians and even to those not so loveable. LOL
Scott - I don't know what the Canadian version of this term would be but as far as the chrome & stainless work is coming on the Fury, you are "crushing" it! It's really looking nice - it accentuates the beauty of this car's curves & overall length. The Frazier is a lot stronger for her age than a lot of these modern cars that aren't even 1/3 her age. Then there's the "OK Starmiler" - I know that tube's older than I am, but w/some of these quarantine days I think I need a patch or two :) and Ms. Francine (the diva is a little reserved this week, hm?). Always time well spent watching #coldwarmotors.
Wooo I'm early if youre reading this scott, you have the best classic car videos on youtube or TV. You're the only channel I've supported on patreon and I hope the money helps these classics. Sending love from boston
I think the Frazer Is Just happy being driven daily for the essential "Chip Run" keeps the old girl alive and ticking over and will most likely run for many more years I'm sure.
Especially nice episode this Saturday. I needed this escape into automobile mania to escape the wild and crazy events of the day. Thanks to you Scott and the agents... oh and a special hug to Ms Frankers, she is such a sweet thang
@@coldwarmotors that was a fantastic video. I really liked the Frazier compression test. I wasn't surprised as the exhaust note sounds even. Hello CWM :) New week and new episode of the show. I look forward to it as do a lotta subscribers, every week. That Fury has become my weekly "looking forward to" YT event and I'm happy to be able to say that, even as we get closer and closer to the finish line. I could imagine that being a TV commercial back in the day for the car! Hi-Ho Frazer!
Spending almost a hour watching nothing but absolute greatness
Hard to believe the Plymouth is 60 yrs old , the brightwork looks brand new . Great work Scott , as always .
I can’t believe how excited I get when I see a new CWM!
Each piece of trim installed brings out the unique style of the Fury. The outro Jam music has a really cool vibe.
Frankers, Frasier, Fury.... Forget your troubles with another Freakin episode of Cold War Motors.
Scott says, "Little Rich, he just died"........(crickets), that's ok, I about spit out my coffee.
Yeh that was pretty sharp for what appeared to be a midd;e of the night session too !😂
O.K. Rubber Welders Inc. file for trademark on STARMILER in 1962. Expired in 1987, so if you want to make your own STARMILERs, go for it.

The tire reminds me of the movie “A Christmas Story”. Ralphie’s father’s car tire “had once been made of rubber”. “Dad gumitt a blowout “
I was just going to comment that. It's the first thing I thought of. The only real difference in this scenario is the car is not an Oldsmobile.

The Samurai Master polishes his katana before sheathing it on the side of the Fury.
adjust the poor Frazier's valves. she's earned it!
Drop the pan do some rod bearings. In frazer. Fury very rewarding build.
A weekend quickie Frazier motor rebuild. Backyard valve job, polish the crank, new bearings. Maybe hone and rings. Done.
I can't wait to see when you do the interior on the Fury!

I really wonder how they managed to put all that trim on at the factory so quickly...
The 60 Fury segments are my favourite. Such a classic deserves to be returned to her former glory
Love seeing the Frazer getting some attention. Also watching the progress on the Fury is the work of a magician.

Casually makes some clips that work perfectly, no big deal. Coming together nicely.

That was a beautiful 65 Impala. I owned a 65 Belair here in Australia. Awesome cars the 65 .
Another awesome video to brighten my day!!!
The trim is one big nightmare to fix and to get it fitting right on the Fury. But it looks amazing Scott, keep it up you are nearly done.

Oh man.... Plymouth is so close... so far.... amazing Scott and the boys
Wow! What a fantastic job with the chrome on the Plymouth! Absolutely perfection! Impressive as hell!!
Hey CWM!! Awesome episode. Love how the Fury is coming together. Can't wait to see the interior come together.
Beautiful work on the Fury trim!!
To see that trim fit so well, knowing how much body work went on before, was just miraculous! The Fury is a masterpiece !

One wonders if those sort of "pie crust flutings" each side of the tread serve any functional purpose - maybe snow/mud traction?
