Hi guys! Thanks for tuning in... This week I put together a video of the time I had on my motorcycle adventure with Agents 8771 and 533 last week! I purchased a 1968 Yamaha over the phone and had some troubleshooting to do before we could get on the road and see if it would stay together for a 200-mile loop through the mountains... The "RockyMountain MotoGiro" is an annual event in the tradition of the Italian motorcycle road races of the early 20th century... Lots of fun and great people! Anyone interested can contact Jim at rockymountainmotogiro@gmail.com Thanks so much to everyone who ordered a 1937 Chevy T-shirt, they are all shipped now, so watch the mail! Hope you enjoyed the 8mm clips! I am filming more on the 8mm camera and I'll include the footage as soon as I get it developed... Special thanks to Steve Dean and Niagara Film Labs in Toronto. Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments!

Brilliant! I love these Yamaha 2stroke twins, just ran in my RD350LC over the Summer. It's flying. A lot of the parts are still available for these bikes.
Fantastic episode!!! No one here is complaining about seeing a last minute resto of a 68' Yami tested on a 200-mile rally through the Canadian Rockies with it all in one episode. What other maniac does that with just as crazy helpers!? Life while riding a bike on the edge of death. That's the art of living.
I've heard of a lot of backyard fixes, but I've never, ever heard of making homemade piston rings out of a pipe. Absolute genius! 😂 Epic video this week!
Appreciated HB's ]comment about "He's not gotten out of the house for a while" pointing to Scott's need for a little road experience which equates to time well spent. I attribute it to an exercise in "Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance."
A "Burt Munro-esque" adventure Scott! I'm pretty impressed with your ring building results. In the book "The Diesel Odyssey of Clessie Cummins", there's a long-ish section about Clessie's struggle to get proper diesel rings made. He pretty quickly found out it didn't work well enough to carve off a slice of round cast tube, because the resulting ring needed to be compressed into the cylinder to have sufficient side tension, making it out of round and resulting in a poor sealing fit. His solution was to carve some slices of pipe, then compress a small stack of such rings to their desired tension and end gap in a fixture, then turn the fixtured rings to the desired finished diameter. He was assisted in this development by his friend Ralph Teetor, whose family would incorporate what they learned with Clessie and found the The Indiana Piston Ring Company in 1919, later known as Perfect Circle.
I'd be more concerned with the rider. Combine great friends and amazing scenery and you get one fantastic ride. Thanks for taking the time to capture the adventure, Scott. That was one spectacular ride! Cheers!
The thumbnail with the beard flying back around Scott's neck is hilarious. I'm imagining it was pretty tangled by the time the ride was over. Nursing an old scoot home with pistons slapping in the bores, one missing point contact, and improvised home-made rings is right on-brand for CWM.
I think I've seen it all now. Piston rings cut from pipe hours before a fantastic looking event. The chainsaw rings thought was very clever too. It never gets boring. Congratulations
Very interesting episode. Love the cool old bikes. Scott should have been given the Burt Monroe award for ingenuity for the emergency piston ring. Nice jam at the beginning of the show---- reminded me of a "Captain Beyond" riff.🍄🍄🍄😀
Considering the homebrewed rings and down to the wire deadline the Yahama did a great job,if you want to call the '60 Pontiac a Fire Chief paint the roof red and put a red blinker on it 😂
According to the CWM calendar, I watched this video on Frankers birthday (Sept 15). Happy birthday Frankers, and in dog years you don't look like a day over 4.
Wow! I wasn’t sure I’d find your rally interesting but watched out of loyalty. Boy, was I wrong! I thoroughly enjoyed this video, especially the last minute piston ring manufacturing. What a wonderful, engaging show this week! Thanks ever so much. Peace, DrRick
Cheers for another great video. It's a testament to the bikes' engineering and CWM's ability to come through in a pinch. Glad everyone had such a fun time on the ride through the mountains.
Cool old scooter Scott. Loving all the variety in the recent week's. Always enjoy all the stuff You & the Agents get into & done. Keep up the top notch content. Cheer's
Oh, man! You brought me back with those motorcycle to the time I had an Italian Garelli moped. Beautiful dark blue and white paint job! Single speed with an auto clutch - some weird Italian bullshit made from rubber that slipped like mad. With my fat derriere on top, I had to pedal like a bicycle to get it going because otherwise it wouldn't. But once it was rolling, it would happily reach 70 km/h, screaming and fumigating for mosquitoes, and with me leaning down over the handlebars. Good times.
Brings back memories of the old 'Curcuito Del Mendip' runs back in the nineties, 'Run what Ya Brung', starting at Nunney Catch Cafe and finishing at the same place, plenty of tea and lardy cake! All The Best from Somerset, England.
Wow!!! What a great ride a long!! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Such beautiful scenery. Looking forward to the new calendars. have a great week and we' ll see you on Thursday!
Excellent show as always! I've never heard of anyone making their own piston rings for an engine, let alone managing to put 200 miles on it without issue. Very Epic!
Loved this week's video! Only Scott could pull it off, you never cease to amaze me. Now you got the perfect bike to ride with Honey Bunny! Miles of Smiles ,Scott, enjoy the beautiful weather while it lasts!
Scott, that was a freaking awesome video. Such a great ride, beautiful scenery, and that little Yamaha did great. I'm so glad you were able to make the trip. Glad you had fun ! Cheers from Wisconsin
Great engineering on the rings Scott. All those cool bikes made me drool... Beautiful machines! I remember those Sabre's back in the day.. They where crap your pants fast! Thanks for taking us along! Cheers from Lubbock.
My favorite Saturday thing to do watch coldwarmotors thanks to you Scott and everyone i enjoy it so much thanks for sharing the trip love seeing all the motorcycles.🍺😊👍✌❤
What a fantastic trip and amount of fun. Glad the home-made rings made it through the weekend. Lots of cool bikes everywhere, thanks for the video and taking us for a ride!
I am totally impressed by making your own piston rings, that was just amazing. The event looked totally cool - neat bikes, breathtaking scenery, and lovely weather, what more could you ask for.
I don't even like motorcycles and found this episode so interesting! Love how you solve problems. The shot of your beard flowing behind you is a classic image! That was fantastic!
It looked like a blast riding the bikes in the mountains. I miss the sound of the 2 stroke engines. You could always film the piston ring replacement for the Yamaha, and how it runs after you've finished.
I can’t express to you how much I enjoyed this episode. That Yamaha is a twin to my first bike. The color, and the sound took me back to being a carefree eleven year old. Now that I’m 60 I’m thinking maybe my parents had a life insurance policy on me. 120 pound body weight on that bike was a little reckless. Bahaha! I look forward to your videos every week. Great video. Great people. Good time. Beautiful scenery! Great group of some very beautiful vintage motorcycles! "Supernaturally Awesome"! The phrase of a lifetime! Thank you!
Great 'side show' Scott. We grew up riding some of these little treats. 175 Hondas were my intro way back. I have 5 photos framed in my shop from last year's CWM calendar, and I have received a lot of positive remarks on them. The 2 Furys, Kaiser, 37 Chev and the "T". Dan's new Caddy is nothing other than a once in a blue moon find. He may doubt it once he digs in but it will be worth it cause it deserves it. Cheers all. 🇨🇦
Slowe rides more time to see what's around you. A little less stressful on a proven bike, but fun nun the less. Amazing homemade ring necessity the invention of ingenuity. Good job all, thank you
Videos like this has me missing my old BSA Lightning, it was perfect for those types of rides. Sold it years ago after having corrective back surgery. Glad you had a good time.
Simply Amazing to cut and harden a set of rings for this Moto. Also love the roadside repairs and the breaker points fix. Any Road trip Adventure is good for the Soul and judging by the other bikes you were right in place!

Fantastic video! The homemade piston rings blew me away, never have seen something like that. Kudos to your determination and getting it to happen Scott.
Obviously been said already but this was great. Making your own rings, man... that's cool stuff. Way to go. (Lot of good camera work on great scenery, too. 👍🏻)
Totally enjoyed the episode.. good to see Dylan again..Andy's bike experience was awesome..good teamwork to make it all happen..thx so much for taking us along..always the best YT by far..see you next week
Love the Yamaha 2 strokes. I hope to attend this rally again next year. I am inspired to get my own little tiddler. There is a real nice 180 near to me. I should just buy it! Great episode and thanks!
Nice change of pace and it's nice to see you getting away from the yard for some much needed R&R. Beautiful country with great views I must say that I'm a little jealous.. great video once again thank you for sharing Scott. cheers
"Well, it's a motorcycle episode, darn!" ... Then I watched it all. Great show. Your buddy's "Orange Whip" shirt - That would be a good name for the bike. (At least it looked orange.)
An enjoyable departure from the normal CWM format and beautiful scenery to go with the beautiful vintage bikes. Thanks Scott for the home made piston rings segment! Human ingenuity at its best and it obviously worked well. Like Mike Rowe said in an old Ford commercial a few years ago, it's great when a plan comes together. And I'll add tongue in cheekly, especially if the plan wasn't planned but adlibbed! And it turned out enjoyable and entertaining for us, too. Onward, all...

Making rings for this bike is just cool Scott. 👍👍
Scott and his "hunched over style" for better aerodynamics is always a win in my book. Fantastic..
Haha! I was really trying to keep the load on the engine as light as possible! Cheers...

Was just thinking of incorporating this book into a comment. Well played!
Making your own piston rings is the ultimate in back yard ingenuity and determination.
...hi Shaun and Scott......thanks Scott, for bringing us along.....

A terrific episode Scott! What a beautiful part of the world to ride through! Thank you for taking us along.
No wonder Scott calls her Honey Bunny, she plays rhythm guitar AND hones cylinders! Still hoping for a proper introduction to the young lady, though.
Wasn't a transmission rebuild master class mentioned in a recent show too? I think there was a name check this week if you caught it.
faster, faster! See big brothers (assuming Andy is older) are good for something.... Wow, looks like a sasquatch on a tiny bike! Love it!
EXCELLENT opening! Truly, one of your best videos, was fascinating watching the motorcycle adventure from start to finish !
