Congratulations to Detective January and the slick work and efforts of the Private detective who nailed the book. Many cops are rightfully maligned. These ones are rare gems.
That PI who mentioned how the ledger "fell into his lap and got photocopied" was very clearly informing the officers present that he did not obtain it legally and it was in their best interests to not know that nor ask any further questions. And it does seem like they acknowledged that and moved on.
This case made me really sad because all Gary wanted to be was a good dad to hid daughter and he, unfortunately, got involved with a psychopathic family who would eventually take his life and leave his daughter without her father! Im so glad that the "mother" lost all custody even though she wasn't charged for Gary's murder, but I'm sure she knew that her dad was planning it. I'm also glad that Garys parents got to raise his daughter who would be a young woman now and, if I calculated right, Gary would be a man set to turn 63 this year if he hadn't been robbed of his future. He may have even been a grandfather, but I think of these things when I listen to crime channels because I like to think of all the enjoyment and time these murder victims lose when someone chooses to end theirs early. Casefiles, you do SUCH a good job with the research and narrating of these cases. I appreciate the effort that you and the team put into each episode! Thank you from country NSW Australia.
That PI who mentioned having the ledger "fall into his lap" made me chuckle. Man absolutely got it illegally, and was telling the officers that they need to stop asking questions on how he got it before they started slamming into admissibility issues. That's a man who knows what he's doing and knows the law
So Sad that Gary nor his parents knew what his ex-father in-law was capable of. i have come to know that decent human beings with morals and a conscience cannot fathom how Predators think and operate, it Truely sucks 😢
Just because he loved his daughter and was obviously the best parent here, he suffered a torturous death. Urich should've gotten death; Young, life and Lisa 30 years. We're so sick of this kind of Evil....they're soulless.
This episode is missing a LOT of information. I have personally emailed the show to talk about this with them. Lisa was an incredible mother and Pat was an abusive monster who put her into the hospital more than once. The police did not protect her and they did not protect her daughter. Sammy, while I obviously don't agree with murder, did what he did to protect his granddaughter. If anyone her is "soulless" it's Pat and the police that did not protect Lisa and Crystal from Pat because he was a "good guy." If you don't know the truth about this case, then kindly, don't speak on it.
Is that common in the US that some guy offers you a job like that, doesn't want your workplace to know about it, makes you fly somewhere for some sort of interview, idk, sounds shady.
And if he didn't and still went to trial he might have got the death penalty or life without parole. When your crimes are heinous enough, 20 years is a bargain.

Right I loath these leftist cop hating sloths, either shut up or go join a police force and deal with garbage like u
And too many are wrongfully maligned.

Big mouth.
Can you imagine how much more effective they could be if they weren't pissing all over jurisdiction? Excellent. Thank you. 🌺
My heart dropped at the ending.
Would you please cover Canada's "Highway of Tears"? Thank you for the upload.

Do people from these missing person cases ever survive? I am hoping with each episode :-(
Lol The Casefiles logo has a bloody knife hidden in the A... that should say it all
None of these cases are missing person cases. They are all murder cases.
Rarely if ever. Thank the cops’ “wait 48 hours” crap
@@FireRising86they cut that shit out a few decades ago at this point.
Yeah quite frequently but uh... Casefiles covers murder cases. So no, they don't survive most of the time.
Case starts at 2.45
I can see where this is going.
Court: You're a bad mom and can't have custody.
Most people: Well I'll get my sht together.
This chic: I'll kill the dad!
Excellent story mate.
Thanks for the podcast. Do you have links to any documentaries on this?
You're not going to get anything more thorough than this
@@thecatatemyhomework I agree 💯
Geez, this one's brutal. Some ppl...are they even human?
I feel for that poor child. I can't imagine what she must be going through knowing her mother and grandfather were responsible for her father's death.

True
4:32 misuse of word, ‘habitat’. It means the environment where something lives, not the things themselves.
It's not incorrect. The habitat is harsh. The things within it struggle to survive. It's 2 sentences about 2 different things 🤷
Wtf...got a grammar teacher up in here?!
Only in Texas do we have the fascinating stories of organized crimes .
Ted told them everything and still got 20 years
Not exactly a sweet innocent. No one would hide in the boonies of Honduras if he wasn't running from something really bad. Opinion, only.
