    Excellent video! I played an OTB tournament recently and I nearly got crushed in this opening. Had I known how to reply there is a good chance I would have done much better and not spent the first 25+ moves defending. LOL

    I liked it.The best defense is to evaluate the best possibilities of how to find a move to improve the position with advantage like in this video.Passive defense is not advisable.

    What about 3.Bd3 and 4.Bc2, exploiting the a4 - e8 diagonal? I did that in Marshalls and got a draw (PS - I'm only around 1400)

  • @elihancock4683

    3:18 you could also play queen a 5, so that when they push the d pawn to d 4, black can capture the pawn since the c3 pawn is pinned

      Thanks for the extra counter attacking.

    • @augustgreig9420
      @augustgreig9420 3 года назад

      I'm pretty sure that bad for black. At first glance white can still play 3.e5 cxe5 4.Bd2 exc3 5.Nxc3 and white is ahead in development with ideas like Bc4, Nd5, Ne2, O-O, f4, with black behind in development. And as I said, that's just at a glance, white probably has better, maybe with just Nf3, Be2/Bc4 then O-O.

    • @bigl5343
      @bigl5343 2 года назад

      @@augustgreig9420 Agreed, early queen attacks lead to poor development of minor pieces and loss of time. When facing an overzealous early, unbacked queen attack, ignore it and develop one's pieces. The opposing side queen will be forced to retreat, losing time, king unable to castle, and lack any development of pawns or minor pieces.

    When people do your anti silician agaisnt me I push my other mid pawn forcing them to trade then once we swap pieces in mid I am able to bring out my queen and with a back to back check I am able to capture their e4 pawn then take their right side rook and usually they surrender after that so I think your anti silician is a very bad move

    • @bigl5343
      @bigl5343 2 года назад

      I agree. This video's counter moves leave a lot of vulnerability. I am no chess expert or grandmaster, but I found that using the bishop's opening as white is a good counter to the Siciian defense. Black cannot mirror with their bishop as c5 is occupied. Moving Queen's pawn to threaten the bishop falls flat as is results in a free pawn capture.

    I look for this video because I am working with the early black fianchetto of the Accelerated Dragon. I think I need to review some of the french advance variations as well. This video presents some interesting similarities of some variations between the advance French and the Alapin Sicilian.

    Brothers and Sisters, God loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus Christ for us to save us from our sins, and he bled and died on a cross for us to redeem us from death, to gain life everlasting, for those who put their trust in him. And what's more, he has risen, and is willing to call you to repentance (correction) and as his witness, by his grace indeed. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith". Jesus loves you, God cares for you!
