  • Mr. Emick discusses his own battle with addiction. He evaluates the effect it had on his family, specifically the relationship with his father. Mr. Emick speaks of how art therapy helped him to overcome his struggles, and why that led him to pursue counseling as well. Originally an architect, Joe Emick is now a counselor at Caron Pennsylvania. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.     I had a similar experience using art therapy on a rich family's child. I was able to help him ease his trauma that has been troubling for almost a year. Now they're considering him a child genius with his art. He'll have his next birthday real soon.
