Happy new year mate
Any update about the commonwealth recruitment
Happy New Year Dylan. Nothing mate unfortunately, I am thinking it could be a while 😕
I’m joining catterick on the 9th Jan. do they weigh you again when I get to basic?
No mate I don’t believe so 👍🏻
Am starting on 9th Jan as well
Hi Kyle, I'm starting basic on 9th of Jan at Catterick but have developed sore shins, again. I've had them a few times over the past year. They're not excruciating at the minute but I notice they are uncomfortable all day and sore to press the area. Do you have any advice or recommendation as to what to do?
Hi mate, tough one really the best you can do is rest and ice them. Try not to do any impact activities at all.
You don’t have much time really so If this pain is shin splints or some other injury it’s probably not going to be 100% for January 9th.
You can either pull out of training and try to push you start date back ( you will need a very good excuse for this and if I’m honest I wouldn’t use the injury as you may get knocked back for a year+) or…… you could go there and hope you recover in time before you start doing PT.
What kind of questions do you get asked in the interview / like do you get asked about the regiment you want to join example royal artillery
What the army core values are, why you want to join the military and where you will do your basic training.
They may also ask about the royal artillery, like where will you do your phase two teaming (Larkhill).
im joining up on 6th feb, how do i like relax myself because im a bit nervous
Everyone that is starting training with you is going to be feeling nervous mate, it’s part of the journey. Just embrace it and get stuck into what ever is asked of you. It’s natural to have nervs throughout training, it’s because you care and you want to succeed 👍🏻
The nerves will soon disappear and in years to come you will look back with nothing but a sense of achievement and such great memories 👌
How can you help join the army from commonwealth Ghana
Hi mate, what is the best muscle groups to focus on when preparing for the assessment centre?
I would say legs if you are talking about strength training? Also running should probably be your primary focus.
@@KyleSmithFIT cheers mate
Hi Kyle, what advice would you give to someone who just turned 34 that is considering P Company ?
Same as everyone else mate, get out running and tabbing at a quick pace and also get some slow high mileage runs/tabs.
Definitely take recovery seriously there are loads of people from all age ranges and ranks who attempt the course and are fit enough but, don’t pass due to injury.
If you are doing all arms P-Coy it’s likely to be around 9 weeks of constant PT so it’s tough on the body.
Hope this helps and good luck 👍🏻
Kyle Smith it’s going to be my final attempt to get accepted as I tried just before my daughter was born in 2015 but they rejected me on an attempted suicide in 09/10 fingers crossed 🤞 thanks Kyle
@@lukethompson8807 oh ok, you are not currently serving then ?
Kyle Smith... sadly not looked through the MOD site again today to find I’ve only got 18 months left luckily I’ve been training hard for 5 months and packed on from 66kg to 74kg with lower fat so I’m on a good stead (or so I think).
@@lukethompson8807 sounds good man, get the ball rolling as soon as possible 👍🏻
Good luck mate let me know how you get on.
When are there going to recruit for the Commonwealth
Not sure at the moment mate, with Covid and there not being much of a need for numbers it could be a while, I am thinking late 2022 but this is just a guess.
