People don't get to choose how they look, whatever their DNA is, is what it is. I wonder when people make the comments like this, do they ever stop to think that the person whom they are speaking of, has not looked at themselves(especially ones who are insecure) & said that they know that they are not attractive or as attractive as so & so? Any one of us could be God forbid, in an accident in which we could become disfigured & someone could say the same about us, I don't think that would feel too good.

Anyway, it was around Christmastime I think, and they were having a Good Times marathon. And the show just caught my attention. I loved it every since. I didn't know then that the show was just reruns because I was younger, but when I got older I started doing my research on the show and the characters. And a few years ago I started buying every season of Good Times. I watch it every day, and I just love and adore this show. Certain episodes does get on my nerves, and it wasn't the same after James died, but this show will forever be one of the best in my books.

I could not sit still but when the show came on, I would drink my milk and eat mayonnaise. Then in my mid 20s I watched it again and could comprehend better on what they talked about and went through. It used to be a ghetto up the street from us and it would remind me of the intro. Clothing hanging up on the balcony, mini clotheslines, women sitting with their hair rollers. Glad you found the show and enjoy it. I still watch it whenever I get a chance.

You had me feeling like Florida Evans and Mama Payne all in one (Florida - Damn, Damn, DAMN), then after I realized you were talking about the character of James Evans and not John Amos (I was Mama Payne - Whew... child, done gone and got my pressure all up!).

I don't know either its a good question how they undo that. They should never have killed the character they should have just had James take the job in Alaska so it could have led to other storyline possibilities. But since they didn't all they could do is pretend his death never happened that's the only thing I see them doing or they try making up some excuse on how he never died or they sent the wrong body to Chicago and they only just learn of it. The only way that could work would be if James body wasn't recognizable so they assumed it was him. Well its far fetched but this was the 70's lol

OMG, just listening to the beautiful rendition of the "Good Times" opeming theme song at the start of this clip, had me in tears. The family and friends I grew up watching "Good Times " with , many like Ester Rolle , have passed on. I was so touched , I am sure many who grew up in the 1970s will agree with me.

One of my top 2 TV shows ever along with Sanford and Son I never missed an episode and I still watch the reruns. Now I have a question? What are they going to do pull off a Daytime Soap deal where James Evans spent 40 years in a coma and finally wake up and join the family? I mean that's the only way they can pull this off because when they killed off James that really F'd Up every fan everywhere and they can't bypass that. So I really wish they can pull this off because man, when James was living he was the best TV dad ever and the show was one of the best ever.
