when we came to USA from Puerto Rico, my mom with 7 of us, in 1977, i was almoat 15 years old, the first program i started to watch in english was this one, didn't understood what ther were saying, but in less than a year, i would say, 5-6 or 7 months, i was able to start understanding english, i used to watch it every, day, a show so simple, but at the same time it says a lot! til now, i still watch it!☺👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is hilarious, how James, flirted with Willona! She was always the sexy best friend of Florida's! So glad that there was no episodes of drama between them and that they all remained friends! James, was always a good representative of a father and father figure to me! He held down that household! I just loved this show and I am so glad that I grew up watching it! 💞

I love Good Times. I'm watching it now. I have every season. I remember when I was little and it was around Christmastime, might've been around 5/6 years old back in the 90s. Anyway, it was around Christmastime I think, and they were having a Good Times marathon. And the show just caught my attention. I loved it every since. I didn't know then that the show was just reruns because I was younger, but when I got older I started doing my research on the show and the characters. And a few years ago I started buying every season of Good Times. I watch it every day, and I just love and adore this show. Certain episodes does get on my nerves, and it wasn't the same after James died, but this show will forever be one of the best in my books.
That's great. The show premiered when I was born. I grew up with it when we used to live in a smaller house. I could not sit still but when the show came on, I would drink my milk and eat mayonnaise. Then in my mid 20s I watched it again and could comprehend better on what they talked about and went through. It used to be a ghetto up the street from us and it would remind me of the intro. Clothing hanging up on the balcony, mini clotheslines, women sitting with their hair rollers. Glad you found the show and enjoy it. I still watch it whenever I get a chance.

He died in in Alaska (I think), but they never mentioned flying the body back to Chicago. You had me feeling like Florida Evans and Mama Payne all in one (Florida - Damn, Damn, DAMN), then after I realized you were talking about the character of James Evans and not John Amos (I was Mama Payne - Whew... child, done gone and got my pressure all up!).
I don't know either its a good question how they undo that. They should never have killed the character they should have just had James take the job in Alaska so it could have led to other storyline possibilities. But since they didn't all they could do is pretend his death never happened that's the only thing I see them doing or they try making up some excuse on how he never died or they sent the wrong body to Chicago and they only just learn of it. The only way that could work would be if James body wasn't recognizable so they assumed it was him. Well its far fetched but this was the 70's lol
