I'd just like to point out that after Avast acquired AVG, the two antiviruses are nearly identical, besides extremely small and un-noticeable detection functions and some minor user interface differences. It does not only protect my data from leaks but also claim the data from third parties which got breached somehow without your concerns. Even Avast is always known for its low resource consumption of your PC, which gives you flawless performance. One more thing I would love to mention here it's game and big picture mode booster, which optimised automatically according to your uses. @@TheCyberLab In my Opnion:
      1. The security solutions is much more robust and complete. AV, AM, Password Management, include VPN (But still prefer using the ProtonVPN instead, haha)etc.
      2. The AdBlocker addons for browser, work like a charm.
      3. When any process/program is using your webcam, mic or anything else including kaspersky anti virus and any background process. They notify about it, it quite nice to know which app using my mic and camera.
      4. Their Anti-Virus and threat detect is much more better than any of the antivirus above. Have used Norton 360 on my Brother's laptop. On the monthly Full Scan. The Norton always let 4-5 virus pass the "gate". It think this viruse is more likely worm or trojan than new virus coming inside. But, still it means the Norton can't find or neutralize the source since Norton is the 1st program installed when I re-installed windows on the laptop. While My Working PC and Laptops that using Kaspersky have never seen virus since I use them. I use Kaspersky Total Security since it was named Kasperky PURE and using BitDefender before that.
      5. The Password Manager is helpful. Only by it, I know 3 out of 4 of my email and password has been compromised. :(
      6. The encrypted browser for payment is make me a bit secured. Also, the credit/debit card auto fill is helping.
      The 4-5 threats that detected on my brother's pc is automatically deleted prior being detected by kaspersky when I copy it to my laptop. The thread rating is pretty high, but it never spawned again in my laptop, but keep appearing on my brother's norton secured laptop .
      The main reason for my rank actually came from the Price vs Security Solutions Offered. The Price is really reasonable especially if you got trusted official Reseller, you might get it at almost 50% less price. Also, 3 Device for 3 Years for equivalent of $69.99 on my currency. It's totally a steal. With the performance I experienced, I think it's totally has it's own rank.
      Some might say like: "It's made by Russian Government. They're watching you!"
      Yes, and then?
      As long as my data is safe and not leaked or sold. I pretty much don't care if they're watching me, come and see my porn collection, you might find it intereseting ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). At least they told me and I know they have tied with the RU and watching me rather than some government that saying "We respect privacy" but in the back spying their own citizen.

    I'm surprised to see Norton as #1. While I agree that Norton and Bitdefender rank close in protection, I would be surprised to see that Norton has improved its performance over the years. The pricing model is only for the first year and there is no discount going forward in the subscription. It is a very expensive product compared to others. There is also no mention of its much higher percentage of false positives in detection. This can wreak havoc when the AV mistakenly deletes your app because it thinks it is operating suspiciously. There is definitely more to compare than what is covered here.

      @Turky Ashor Barbod Sophos doesn't appear in the independent lab tests we consider. Also it's advanced features are a bit complex for casual users. Many advanced features for home users aren't at par with mainstream products.

    I've had McAfee and I've had no problems (so I think). I also like the home network interface. In my ignorance of vulnerability, McAfee communicates to me in understandable and expected advisories. I also like the single package - I'm not sure what the others' Internet Packages mean.

      I had McAfee on my computer for years but recently when I got a virus on my computer, I could literally see it taking over my computer and McAfee did stop it but couldn't find the files or delete them. I ended up having to completely reinstall windows. Malwarebytes worked better for me in this scenario.

    I'd enjoyed your breakdown video and found it very informative.
    I'd love to hear your view on "Clean My Mac" working with security applications ...I see "Clean my Mac" (CMM) as a maintenance utility, but have friends swearing it's all you need because of its claim to also remove Malware.
    Would having CMM installed along with a premium security package compromise performance (my thinking)? What if the malware module on CMM were disabled, would it still impact the OS? performance?

    • @TheCyberLab
      @TheCyberLab  2 года назад +1

      @Adron Hunter We have not analyzed CleamMyMac so far so I can't say anything for certain. But here's my understanding:
      CleanMyMac is primarily an optimization tool that also claims to detect and hold off viruses and malware. The thing is it is the company's claim, Apple certainly doesn't endorse it. Does that mean it isn't effective? No, maybe it is. But is it as effective as MacPaw claims, we simply don't know at the moment. Sorry for not being able to give you a definite answer.

    I currently have Norton. The reason I'm watching this video is because I'm tired of the constant barrage of ads from Norton advising me of the online dangers I'm facing but against which they do not protect me. But they will for an additional fee. If I continue the protect they currently provide, it will cost me over $250 a year. I think I can do better elsewhere.

    Many things can be improved in this comparison. You should have added one more KPI which is customer support. You should also should have commented on additional features offered such as App Lock, VPN performance, lost device detection, shredder, Anti Theft Features.

    • @TheCyberLab
      @TheCyberLab  2 года назад

      @ABHIJIT SOMAN thanks for the suggestion. Here's why we add those:
      Customer Support: very subjective, users can have pretty varying experiences because of the human factor.
      App Lock, VPN performance, lost device detection, shredder, Anti Theft Features: pretty standard features now so we didn't focus on them.
