It really establishes that the main reason for Mark doing so poorly in Season 1 was the fact he was so reluctant to kill. Which makes his fight with Omni-Man even more horrifying.
What the comic did wasn’t terrible, at least. Mark still did well and kicked ass all the same but he lost while Nolan seemingly was almost defeated in the same way with how tired and bloody he got. If anything it showed how unprepared Mark truly was as a fighter and a superhero. He hadn’t pushed his limits really, either, being so naturally strong already.

Yes but as Viltramite get older they get stronger Mark is just a baby compared to them he could take out one hell maybe even two but he would die@@uxaskhan
It doesnt make sense to me that Mark was holding back considering how many times he straight up almost died.
