Hi there, I would sand the benches, then paint them whatever color & put a stain protector from the weather on them. Put one by the library to sit & read or more plants on it! Or some flowers around the bottom of the library. I wouldn't paint it! Put the other on the porch & put plants on it. I don't think I would paint the cushions it makes it stiff to sit on! Clean the rug as best as you can or turn it around so it doesn't show! Finish your steps, walkway & around the porch trim. Then tackle the swing, the colors sounds very pretty! Don't get discourage. Just pace yourself. It'll all look beautiful when it's all done! I really love your swing. It's such a great memorial for your Mom! She would love it I'm sure! I can't wait to watch what you pick first! Thanks for sharing! ♥️☺️🫂🐾🐾🦋🪡🧵🧶🍄🦉🌹🦩✨️
I would keep the scalloped-edge bench(the more vintage-looking one)...would be perfect for displaying some potted flowers!! 🪻🌻🌷 And let the other bench go...less unique. You have grand plans for alot of projects...try not to put too much pressure on yourself!! I would finish the walkway which will give you a quicker sense of accomplishment & then move onto the swing which will have the greatest impact! Llama's library is great as is & can be done when/if you have extra time, energy, etc. Same with the cushions on the chairs...they are still usable & look nice even if not painted! Looks like mildew/moldy growth on the carpet not a spill...there are treatments specific for that. Please remember to pace yourself & not put too much on your plate!!! 🩷🤗🩷😉🩷
Keep the benches, they are precious! I would possibly refinish them with boat marine shellac that would protect the wood from the water, snow etc. if you leave the benches on the porch, you could add some plants, will be very cute!
Love all the projects, although I would leave that little library as is, my daughter sanded and spray painted a plastic pink car, green, and 2 years later, it is peeling, and painting plastic just does not work, as she also found out with a little tikes playhouse too. I would take the cushions and your rug to a patio or driveway, and pressure wash, but not hold the pressure washer more than 18 inches away, the cushions are pretty as, as, and again spray paint will just crack over time, and ruin them. That beautiful swing, again pressure wash, let dry, then power sand, and Blue would just be beautiful, if you are finished with the swing, we all would love to see it, and your Mom would be happy to know you cherish it and gave it a new life. I know she is proud of you, and looking down over you, and again Bless you for being a teacher
Finish the sidewalk and paint the porch first ! Most impact and then the do the swing . At the very least stain it and condition or waterproof the wood for longevity .
Perhaps you could make an L shaped corner using the two wooden benches in that same corner of the porch (the taller one up against the house and the other up against the side railing). Maybe painting them black and/or grey to match the house and porch spindle would help them to visually blend in more. I would not get rid of them. The swing is so cute there. And I agree that black would look great, even the chains black. Your home and neighbourhood are beautiful!❤👍😊
I love your benches, definitely keep. Could you put them on a slant at one end? So you could have reading or drink spot. A good sand down with a nice wax, although I like the black paint idea😃. It will be a very satisfying project. I have never heard of spray painting fabric, I would try fabric dye. Take care🤗♥️🇬🇧
I would power wash the swing first, to get to like fresh wood, is there maybe like a black stain with waterproofing in it. I think it would wear better than regular paint. We waterproof/stained our wood fence and pergola. The benches on your porch, do you have a place inside where you might sit to put your shoes on near one of your exterior doors where you could put a bench. If they get wet from rain blowing in on the porch, they might start to look dirty or messy, from being wet.
What about keeping the small benches and the porch for plants? I think plants on both ends would look nice. The swing in black or navy would be stunning. If you paint it navy I would do the chain in black. I wouldn't put stickers on the library if you are going to paint it. I think it will take away from the look you are trying to achieve. You could plants around the bottom that will tie into the hanging ones on the swing and potentially the front porch.
What beautiful tribute to your mom ❤ the book 📖 library very special ❤️. I can't wait to see what the end product of your benches and table & chairs are. I enjoy watching your channel I learn so much. Ty for sharing
If I were to list your projects I would start with painting the porch, finishing the sidewalk, the swing (put benches as is in yard w/ flowers or donate) library and finally the cushions. I love the swing and think it would make a great focal point in your yard or place to sit and think of your mom! I don’t think I would paint it black though as sitting on it could get warm.
I think the swing would look good with the frame painted black and the seat painted gray. Unless you need two benches, I would donate the heart and use your mom’s as a place for plants.
I've painted cushions before, but I did not like the 'crusty' feeling they had once dried. If I were you, I'd simply give those cushions a good steam cleaning and leave them be. Their coloring goes well with the wood color.
The little bench with the heart on it I would try to use. Do you have a space inside your door where you can use it for a bench to sit down and put your shoes on? The other I would donate it. I would tackle doing the swing first so you can enjoy it for the summer. Then finish painting the driveway. Good luck xoxo
You have a lot of projects to do this summer. I would tackle the swing first. Painting it black would coordinate with the spindles on the porch. The area around the table looks cramped with the bench there. Maybe donate that one and keep the heart one. It would be cute with plants on it. You could even make a fall display on it. The paint on the steps and edge of the porch could be done in a couple of hours and would give you a feeling of accomplishment. I’ve been doing some small projects my self this summer

I thought the same thing about this bench and potted flowers!
I love the benches and also your table and chair set. The swing and the little library are really great too!♥

I would keep your mom's benches. They are really cute. I would put potted plants on the scalloped one without the heart.

Make the benches from your mom's house to hold plants 🪴
Great idea❤
One of the benches could go under a tree to sit under or at the end of the walkway next to the porch
Please don't get rid of either of the benches. You will find something to do with them. You are so talented.

I would put one of the benches under a big tree out in the yard. With flowers around the tree. I think that would be so pretty.
Keep both of them👍🏻
Paint benches & swing same color, weather proof them and use them all in the yard.

Personally, your videos are very rewarding and inspirational for me as I love to rearrange my furniture all the time. ❤

Maybe you could use one or both of the benches in front of your fence but behind your moms wood swing/seat as a plant or yard decor shelf
I was thinking this too

Paint the benches black, put in corner perpendicular to each other and add cushions -Joanns has nice patterned outdoor fabric

I would donate them
That swing reminds me of my great grandma’s swing that she had

Great ideas! Does the heart bench have to stay outside? Might be nice at the foot of a bed.
I don't know what your entry way looks like my sister has one like your small one by the door to sit on and put on shoes
Donate the wood chairs
I would donate the 2 benches, it dates your decor, it doesn’t go with the table and chairs.
Hi
