I am a widow, live in a small house, on a small lot, in a small (God help me) town. So, watching you on that beautiful estate with all it offers plantwise, in your spacious home, with the added bonus cottage is quite a treat. Throw in Bertie (my old fellow companion passed last year) for good measure and it’s all so special. Girl, you really add to my Sunday, so thanks for the viewing of your lovely veranda. Happy week

I can totally relate. I'm in SE Georgia and as my husband says, "you can chew the air"! The veranda is absolutely breathtaking, but throws, blankets, and magazines are a no go here from at least May through the end of October if not longer.
A little tip for the porch swing pushing the large screw thru from the inside of the swing with a washer and bolt on the side with the chain will prevent you from scraping your leg on the edge that was poking in like you have it ;-) you've got amazing style. I just love, love, love your videos. The way you repurpose things and use nature instead of wasting money on buying trendy stuff that will only end up in the already packed landfills is so inspiring. A lot of the things that you purchased in thrift stores and charity shops for next to nothing is completely the opposite here on the states. You wouldn’t be able to afford a lot of it. Please keep the videos coming.

This has to be one of my favorite videos! I love it all...the colors, the style, the bargains, the florals, the greenery, the fabrics and so much more! What a blessing a newly curated space is. I hope you get hours and hours of relaxation, peace and calmness (once Bertie settles down😂) in this newly renovated, lovely space! I live on a lake in Ohio. I have a second level deck area surrounded by huge trees and overlooking the lake. It has been recently refreshed with a tropical theme...High and low tables topped with grass umbrellas and palm leaf table clothes. Colors are mostly teal and shades of green. Loads of plants, mostly varieties of ferns bring much life to the space.I even have a fake monkey named Marseille hanging from a rope and holding a banana. There is nothing better than a huge dog that loves their mama! If I could give an Oscar for "Best Decorating the Porch for Summer" video-this wins it hands down. It has all my favorite things-Annie Sloan paint, beautiful flowers and ferns, an antique bathtub, baskets, beautiful old furniture repurposed into something else, old mirrors, natural colored wicker or rattan, a lively host that has a great sense of humor, rocking chair and last but certainly not least, a beautiful dog. WOW. I have a feeling this is going to be on repeat in the background while I'm at work Thursday and Friday. We're burning up already here in Louisiana, US. The fact you put out throws for the cool nights makes me really wistful for mild weather. We only get that about two months out of the year. So, thank you for a lovely video and inviting us to your beautiful home!

BTW, you asked about the weather….it is hot, but very humid. I, myself lived in England. My late husband was a Barrister out of London. I came over in 1997 to marry him. I first lived in Taunton, West Somerset. After we married we moved to Bristol. 1998 we came back to Tennessee, in the states & he took the bar exam & was successful. He set up his law practice & unfortunately was diagnosed with Stage 4B cancer. Sadly assed away in 2011. After 4 years I sold our home & moved to the beach. Your videos very relaxing. I look forward to the next one. ❤

Tracey I love the beautiful freshness of the green, with pops of red. Makes a nice change from white/neutrals - but pleeez pleeez keep the lovly floral vase/bowl as is. Cracked or bot, its soo pretty. I think there can be too much stone effect items, the imperfections are what make them so characterful.
A wonderful way to spend Sunday after church - watching you decorate. The treasures you find amaze me. Here in the States, thrift shops have antique store prices. They usually have only items that should have been thrown away to begin with. I love what you did with the cottage porch and green is my favorite color. As for your sewing skills, I've been sewing for over 65 years and can safely say your pillows came out lovely (and complemented your dress nicely). Well done!

Our temps in North Carolina are currently in the mid to upper 80s. I think I now know where my need to recycle, repurpose and reuse comes from ... must be my English ancestors. 😃 My gram had a huge stash of everything from ball jars to old tea boxes and a snip of everything in between! Tracey I love the beautiful freshness of the green, with pops of red. Makes a nice change from white/neutrals - but pleeez pleeez keep the lovly floral vase/bowl as is. Cracked or bot, its soo pretty. I think there can be too much stone effect items, the imperfections are what make them so characterful.

A wonderful way to spend Sunday after church - watching you decorate. The treasures you find amaze me. Here in the States, thrift shops have antique store prices. They usually have only items that should have been thrown away to begin with. I love what you did with the cottage porch and green is my favorite color. As for your sewing skills, I've been sewing for over 65 years and can safely say your pillows came out lovely (and complemented your dress nicely). Well done!

Our temps in North Carolina are currently in the mid to upper 80s. I think I now know where my need to recycle, repurpose and reuse comes from ... must be my English ancestors. 😃 My gram had a huge stash of everything from ball jars to old tea boxes and a snip of everything in between! Beautiful job on the veranda! You truly have a wonderful sense of style!
