    I really like the styling of the 5th Gen RX 350. However, I do NOT like the loss of the V6 engine. R.I.P. Lexus' buttery smooth V6 engine 😢. I also think Evie is cool.

    My wife and I test drove the RX350 (non-hybrid) a few weeks ago with the intention of buying or leasing depending on the numbers. The interior was amazing...seats, ergonomics, tech, etc. However, the engine and transmission felt rough and unrefined. Not what we expected in a 60K car. Also, the handling was awful. We expected it to be on the soft side, but it wallowed. The steering ratio is so slow that you have to be very fast with the wheel not to swing wide in sharp right hand turns. The prior gen RX350 had a silky smooth V6 which was the start of the show. After testing the Volvo XC60 B5 and B6, BMW X3, Mercedes GLC and Audi Q5 and SQ5, we ended up leasing an SQ5 for LESS than the RX350. Audi is supporting the Q5s with very high residuals in their leases. Since its a lease, long term reliability is not an issue. Its a bit smaller than the RX, but the powertrain and suspension are light years ahead of the RX. The Volvo XC60B6 was a VERY close second.

      There was only one thing I did not like about the Volvo…no wireless Apple CarPlay. Just need to use a cord. Was a coin toss decision to get the Audi. I wanted something on the sportier side and the engine in the sq5 is amazing. Volvo seats are the best. If I was choosing between the regular q5 and xc60 I would get the xc60. Xc60 is a better luxury car. Sq5 is better at the sport side if things.

    Yeah, what's the deal with these new gear selectors. For decades, they were all essentially the same. Whether on the column or in the console, you went down one detent for R, one more for N and one more for D. And, to put in in Park, you went all the way up. You could hop in any car, and it was the same. Now, it can get confusing. New technology for no reason.

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP Год назад

      Not dissimilar to controls for telephone, TV or probably many other technologies that have grown around us for decades. Being there is no longer a physical cable connecting lever to transmission, it enables freedoms not possible before.

  • @styner3

    I test drove the same trim but didn’t like the steering wheel controls but maybe I would get used to it. I prefer buttons.

    i don't like how the screen is tilted, it looks crooked from certain angles.
    i also don't like the shifter, that's going to be a learning curve for some people.

    I like the looks of the new RX. The new bronze/copper color is nice and unique. I'm so tired of both white and black on cars. Yes, I know most people like boring colors so that is why those colors are mainstays with all car colors.

    Im a 2017 Rx350 Fsport 3 series owner and many of the features showed on this video are lower par than my existing one. The only new features here are the hidden wireless charging(mine is visible), double sided arm rest opening, the door holders on mine actually fold out for more space in accessing items, and I like the new infotainment system. Mines boring and dated. I hate the 2017 Canadian infotainment one. I can't use the remote start(enform) in Canada and I cant get it unlocked even though my car has it built in. The rear seat fold downs are power(one touch) for me. My trunk looks bigger. Im going for MB next time. Sure my Rx350 v6 naturally aspirated engine, uses "regular" unleaded gas but the fuel economy is bad when I do that. Might aswell use medium or premium for better performance.

    Compared to my 2021 rx 350 v6 , got a loaner from the dealership ,The driving dynamics of the new rx is way better and more insulated ,seat comfort and steering wheel is nice and it basically drives like a car ,brakes are awesome too than my plushy rx ,BUT ....the base rx 350 engine 2.4L tURBO is what i am not impressed , too jumpy delayed response in gears , sure it goes fast but not as smooth .but i am sure the 500h delivers a better response since its direct engine ...price tag is what kills it 70k

    I test drove the Lexus and the Acura RDX. I found the Acura more engaging to drive and had a much nicer interior. The Lexus sits on the four year old Toyota RAV 4 platform while the Acura’s platform was specifically engineered for the RDX. The Acura felt more planted on the road and the engine was more responsive. The Acura was slightly discounted when I purchased it. Extremely happy with it.
