Yes yes and yes. We all have to live to adopt to our circumstances. I find I am energized living alone being in nature, listening to the sights and sounds of the trees, the wind, the leaves rustling, the stream in my back yard. I find I can only tolerate being in the city for a short while and I yearn for my alone time. I am really at peace with that.
I've been single for 26 years and I am happy Soul. It's unintentionally become a way of life for me. It really gives one time to focus on their dreams and desires. I sit often on my front porch steps, coffee in hand gazing into the sky, to watch majestic Hawks circling above me under the rays of a golden sun. I quietly give all that's around me small bits of my individual attention, not saying a word, just listening and watching. I watch the Seasons change from that one small spot on my porch. I understand the peaceful feeling from sitting quietly in the woods, listening to all of the critters, nature sounds, taking in all of Gods beauty. So peaceful and calming. It is beautiful there in your garden. Every this is so tidy and perfect. I myself collect stones, agates, fossils. Not a normal collector. I just find pretty stones, mostly along Lake Michigan shore. One of the great Lakes in Michigan. USA shore northern lower Michigan. I bring them home. Clean them and put them in my flower/rock gardens. You have a wonderful variety of trees. Shrubs and flowers. Indeed, I too enjoy Collette's soothing voice with the beautious pathways. My acreage here in the Ozark Mts of Arkansas gives me a similar beauty, but with one big plus, I didn't have to plant all the trees, they were here 31 years ago when I moved from Houston, Tx area & had to actually clear a space to have sunlight for a garden and similarly there is a spring brook running through the yard and supplies my little cottage. I feel we're experiencing a similar lifesyle and sisterhood, but always want to see, hear Collette's accomplishments, ideas and words of wisdom. Peace and blessings to all :)

My husband recently had a health scare and I had to think on what it would be like on my own. I’ve never had to do that. It’s really inspiring to see brave women like yourself and some of these young women on RUclips doing projects on their own. The Goddess truly is rising in our world.

I've had my moments of heightened caution, due to this beautiful area being used by squatters and people running from law enforcement. But the cleansing by Mother Earth with the wonders of the old magnificent trees, the streams, and the wonderful breezes cleansing this area shows me that all is well. I'm the caretaker and enjoy the benefits of this sacred space.
Colette, I think your feelings resonate with many of us, and we are in danger of losing any sense of well being we might have. There is, sadly, very little we can do to change much of what is happening, but we can make an effort to take control of our own well being in the way we think works best for us. All our lives are special, we have been gifted them, so I am so thankful for mine. I enjoy living on my own, but as I do not go out (apart from walking Madge, my rescue greyhound) I can go some days without seeing or speaking to another human being, which can be a bit lonely at times. But I am truly thankful for what I have. I love the nature that is around me, and like you, thank Mother Earth for all her abundance, and try to live a good life loving our natural world. I enjoy being on my own. Well, only the cat and me. I collected nuts from the Turkish hazel tree. It grows fast and tall. A friends sows them for a forest combination and I got four in a pot to raise them.
Some folks just can't grasp that being alone does not equate to being lonely. My little corner of the Universe is all of 50 by 140 feet with an old beat up mobile home in the middle. But I'm sitting here beside my kitchen window watching as the cardinals feed their latest young, house finches at the other feeder, chickadees, gray tufted titmice, some unidentified warblers (they fly too fast for me to check markings! Hahaha), lots of other bird species and the occasional squirrel family. The Firebush is covered in bees of all sorts, butterflies galore and the hummingbirds will be arriving in about an hour. The black racer snakes are cruising through the flower bed. (They are longtime residents here) Loads of lizards, toads, frogs and geckos. Let's not forget the yard cats and the odd stray that needs fresh water and some kibble. Come evening the possums and raccoons drop by as they make their rounds of the neighborhood. Didn't mean to ramble on so.... but my point is this... How could I ever be LONELY with all this LIFE surrounding and interacting with me?!! Blessing to you!
I too have been living on my own for over 20 years and love it, I have to manage all things myself which has enhanced my skill set immensely. I learned to be more spiritual and now I only have to be accountable for myself where as previously I was the one who took responsibility for others. No I act like the old sage ha ha ... 😊
Garden is looking fabulous, the blue of the cottage pops 💙 and the blue seat . I love the carved Owl in the rustic garden 😍 🦉. Our Silver Birch in the garden is shedding her leaves now , I enjoy watching the changes on her during the year.🍂

I’m fascinated by the spring well. The idea that one can dig out a cavity and have it bubble up water continuously and create a little stream that you can take water from and it will sustain your water needs is amazing. Does the earth from which the spring well comes up need to be a particular kind of soil? I ask because the water is so pure and clean, not at all muddy or dirty.🤔

I’ve been a single mom for most of my adult life which isn’t quite being alone but naturally I don’t share or expose most of my adult thinking & thoughts with my children when they are young. My daughter is 39 and now a mother of 2 and my son is 14 and is medically fragile and I really protect him
We are having a lovely teas here in coastal Virginia, as the temperatures drop into the 50s at night. The black and green ash trees are beginning to turn as are the tulip poplars. but next week summer comes back with a vengeance. I so enjoyed our walk this morning. Thank you, Colette.
I needed to get my cholesterol down so started with shakes, as well, for lunch that includes 6 cubes of ice, almond milk, nonfat Greek yogurt, chia seeds, ground flax, kale, blueberries & a banana. Big shakes & so good. Sometimes I use oats instead of the ground flax. Then I have a good supper. I’ll let you know if these shakes are helping. Lol
I came home from work and felt the house empty, remembering my late partner, my son is away a lot for work, I have a casual relationship with someone and felt terribly lonely, but I felt so, so much better after listening to this. Thank you 🙏🍂

"Time Began In The Garden". I just recently discovered and subscribed to your channel. I have "binge" watched some today. There are so many things I admire you for on so many levels. Our beliefs may differ somewhat, however we are in agreement in many other ways. It is unfortunate the "useless" people in charge are attempting to create multiple reasons for us to become upset with one another. It is tragic the attempted destruction of kindness and compassion among other things. We reside in very different countries but we have much in common. Too many people have forgotten to agree to disagree and yet find a common ground of respect for one another. Thank you for sharing your journey.

I don't understand why people are so curious about other people's lifestyles. I think what you are doing "on your own" is very acceptable. I also think the older soul you are the more appealing it is to be on your own and live a retrospective life. There's a lot to be said about doing what you want to do when you want to do it. I'm happier that way myself. You gotta love peace and quiet. If you don't, then go be around a lot of people. That's easy to do in this over crowded, noisy world. Amen.

You are at true peace with yourself, in your wonderful wood and cottage that you are so busy working, and living in, and enjoying your special life. All our lives are special, we have been gifted them, so I am so thankful for mine. I enjoy living on my own, but as I do not go out (apart from walking Madge, my rescue greyhound) I can go some days without seeing or speaking to another human being, which can be a bit lonely at times. But I am truly thankful for what I have. I love the nature that is around me, and like you, thank Mother Earth for all her abundance, and try to live a good life loving our natural world. I think we have to be content and happy with our own company to have a truly satisfying life. You seem to be very indepedently confident, I literally hadn't ever questioned whether you'd be afraid of living alone. To me you're in a sanctuary of peace and you're not alone, you're amongst so much life and energy

I collected nuts from the Turkish hazel tree. It grows fast and tall. A friends sows them for a forest combination and I got four in a pot to raise them.

Some folks just can't grasp that being alone does not equate to being lonely.
My little corner of the Universe is all of 50 by 140 feet with an old beat up mobile home in the middle. But I'm sitting here beside my kitchen window watching as the cardinals feed their latest young, house finches at the other feeder, chickadees, gray tufted titmice, some unidentified warblers (they fly too fast for me to check markings! Hahaha), lots of other bird species and the occasional squirrel family. The Firebush is covered in bees of all sorts, butterflies galore and the hummingbirds will be arriving in about an hour. The black racer snakes are cruising through the flower bed. (They are longtime residents here) Loads of lizards, toads, frogs and geckos. Let's not forget the yard cats and the odd stray that needs fresh water and some kibble. Come evening the possums and raccoons drop by as they make their rounds of the neighborhood. Didn't mean to ramble on so.... but my point is this...
How could I ever be LONELY with all this LIFE surrounding and interacting with me?!!

I too have been living on my own for over 20 years and love it, I have to manage all things myself which has enhanced my skill set immensely. I learned to be more spiritual and now I only have to be accountable for myself where as previously I was the one who took responsibility for others. No I act like the old sage ha ha ... 😊
Garden is looking fabulous, the blue of the cottage pops 💙 and the blue seat . I love the carved Owl in the rustic garden 😍 🦉. Our Silver Birch in the garden is shedding her leaves now , I enjoy watching the changes on her during the year.🍂

I’m fascinated by the spring well. The idea that one can dig out a cavity and have it bubble up water continuously and create a little stream that you can take water from and it will sustain your water needs is amazing. Does the earth from which the spring well comes up need to be a particular kind of soil? I ask because the water is so pure and clean, not at all muddy or dirty.🤔
Artesian wells are a sight to see. I don't know if this is one but I've been fortunate to have seen the life giving beauty of one.

I’ve been a single mom for most of my adult life which isn’t quite being alone but naturally I don’t share or expose most of my adult thinking & thoughts with my children when they are young. My daughter is 39 and now a mother of 2 and my son is 14 and is medically fragile and I really protect him
We are having a lovely teas here in coastal Virginia, as the temperatures drop into the 50s at night. The black and green ash trees are beginning to turn as are the tulip poplars. but next week summer comes back with a vengeance. I so enjoyed our walk this morning. Thank you, Colette.

Life is too short to be scared.
I needed to get my cholesterol down so started with shakes, as well, for lunch that includes 6 cubes of ice, almond milk, nonfat Greek yogurt, chia seeds, ground flax, kale, blueberries & a banana. Big shakes & so good. Sometimes I use oats instead of the ground flax. Then I have a good supper. I’ll let you know if these shakes are helping. Lol

I came home from work and felt the house empty, remembering my late partner, my son is away a lot for work, I have a casual relationship with someone and felt terribly lonely, but I felt so, so much better after listening to this. Thank you 🙏🍂

"Time Began In The Garden". I just recently discovered and subscribed to your channel. I have "binge" watched some today. There are so many things I admire you for on so many levels. Our beliefs may differ somewhat, however we are in agreement in many other ways. It is unfortunate the "useless" people in charge are attempting to create multiple reasons for us to become upset with one another. It is tragic the attempted destruction of kindness and compassion among other things. We reside in very different countries but we have much in common. Too many people have forgotten to agree to disagree and yet find a common ground of respect for one another. Thank you for sharing your journey.

I don't understand why people are so curious about other people's lifestyles. I think what you are doing "on your own" is very acceptable. I also think the older soul you are the more appealing it is to be on your own and live a retrospective life. There's a lot to be said about doing what you want to do when you want to do it. I'm happier that way myself. You gotta love peace and quiet. If you don't, then go be around a lot of people. That's easy to do in this over crowded, noisy world. Amen.
