What they do in banks are giving loans to people buying homes. Most banks where I live are not even open AT ALL unless you call and make an appointment.
This is one thing I'm intrigued about the US. In my country, it operates in the same way as many European countries, so it is normal for these places to be closed 'early'
I think the biggest thing to remember about the US is it’s a large place and there are many different “normals” for people living there. Personally I haven’t stepped foot in a physical bank in the US in over 20 years. What he said about “9am-5pm” operation is fairly accurate for most of the US although it slowly seems to be changing. The US is many years behind Europe with silly things like chipped credit cards, etc. Yes the technology existed here for many years but only very recently were merchants forced to adapt to using them by law.
Since a lot things are digitalized in Norway, we have to spend a lot resources on developing and maintaining digital platforms and services. Less cashier but more IT resources
So perhaps you should change your video@@Robdoesitall or pull it down, since it is pure BS what you are spewing, there is no need for them to be open, and IF they are open for 5 hours, then they ARE OPEN!! Now what job do you have?!?!? since you are walking around making fun of the employes in the banking sector?!?!?
You want to try Germany! When we were there on holiday we went in to get some service, ha!!! There were a number of computer stations but no front line staff. There was an old lady, almost in tears by the look of it, trying to do a transaction. She finally had to press an emergency help button before a witch came fluttering through on her broom and addressed the lady in a barking aggressive manner. So bloody rude!
Yeah, we don't have banks anymore. Not with money. It's not exactly a new concept. It's been like this for 15 years now. You shoulda looked this up before moving. I think there is 1 or 2 banks I know of that handles ANY kind of cash.

The banks are there if you want to talk face-to-face with someone about your economy. They're there to provide customer service.
In some towns and cities here there are banks that don't even open for more than 5 hours one day per week unless you have an appointment.

Thats funny, the banks down south in Norway, do all of those things you said. Maybe go inside next time;)
It was closed!! 😂😂😂
Most of them won't let you deposit or withdraw cash. But some of them may have ATM's witch lets you do that.

You haven't answered his question though, what are people doing in there for 5 hours a day?
@@christophlindinger2267 Other than dealing with loans there is sometimes a vault people can put valuables in.
