Very few here are rich. A lot are poor. Our social benefits often put people far below the poverty limit. We're not as rich as some Norwegians that never have had financial problems seem to think. But nobody should be starving either, so if the standard is "not starving", I guess we are rich.

Actually, "sick leave" in Norwegian is "sykefravær". Sykemelding (translates to sick note or medical certificate) is the document issued by your doctor that certifies your inability to work and the duration of the sick leave.

Norwegian news tend to be anti america and extremely fear mongering. But america is an entire continent. America has some of the greatest places in western society. For instance, in states like Georgia, Tennessee and Florida, you'll find the most down-to-earth people living in very peaceful towns with sheriff and deputies. You'd think you ended up in the old days almost. But then there are the dirty trash parts of America such as New York and California. Personal option: But that's what Norwegians think when America is brought up in conversation.
