The big banks could not care less about their customers. All that is important to them is reducing their costs and therefore increasing their profits. They hate "The three Cs". Cash. Coins. Customers. Branches cost money to run, therefore they must be closed. Never mind the customers, they are just an inconvenience, and stand in the way of profit. I have just left Barclays after nearly fifty years and gone to the Nationwide. The reason? Every single Barclays branch closed in every town anywhere near my home. When I asked why, I was told that "Very few people use branches any more". Funny that every time that I visited my local branch, ( which was at least once a week) there was a queue all the way to the door. I must have imagined all those queuing customers. I have no doubt that the Nationwide will also close branches in the future, but, in the meantime, I still have a local bank.

I don’t want to be cashless, I want to be able to choose. The cash I have in my wallet is mine … and no one knows what I do with it. No one. What I spend my money on is my business. I went to Istanbul in January … everything was cash because the economy was so poor. I loved it! Talking to people via an app is not good enough! No money for buskers, no money for charity boxes, no simple fundraisers for any charities such as churches, schools etc, no “Bob a job” for scouts…and it’s increasingly hard to teach children about money because they don’t handle money any more. This feels increasingly like control … the bank knows what I’ve spent, when I spent it, what I spent it on. I like my anonymity…I value my privacy.
It’s a disgrace…there’s no ATM’s either…Tesco took one ATM machine away and the other never works….I have to travel over 15 min to try and get cash out …

Nationwide isn't closing as many branches as banks. It's up to the public to use cash and switch to banks and building societies who aren't in any hurry to close branches.
just change from any bank to a building society ,that is currently the best option for everyone , make the banks realise you are not falling into line . i also recommend the nationwide for those that are willing to make the change .take your money out the banks before it is too late.
One of the reasons they're closing branches is to stop people taking out large amounts in cash, because they have hardly any physical cash at the branches anymore!

Hello. My mum went through the same, just lost our dad. It really put as stress on her, and before she was ok with the computer. Now she is lost. The local bank just closed. I've been helping but she got scammed for 100k just after dad passed away. The good news, is that we managed to get the money back. I recommend, and this is a hard conversation, but you need power over her money to help her. These scammers tricked me too, took me a while to work out who was a scammed or genuine. Our scammers were English too well spoken. Just be safe and monitor here letters and emails, you don't want to go through what we did.

Youngsters won't understand the implication. Its all about centralised banking and lending digital currency to corporations for the purchase of assets only. Mortgages are also only for banks, not people. Government wont get the benefit of seigniorage so the tax hole will be filled by taking more tax from you to compensate...
most young people understand that the fiat money system is broken, and it is in debt forever.. so no matter if it is digital fiat or cash is is worth less and less. and other digital values like bitcoin or other crypto coins are better for the future just like it also make sense for companys to use tokens and not shares on the stock marked, because the system we have is not always about supporting the small. the stockmarked often lives from shorting stocks and killing companys for gain look what went on with gamestop at new york stock exchange a couple of times, this time they sold 40% more stocks then avalible to people shorting them (they sold 140%) only bacause the small man could rally against it, it did not go as bad as it could have for gamestop
In my town there are a lot of elderly people. We still have a Santander, Halifax, Nat West and a Yorkshire building society. These are always busy. People need banks.
What happened to all the profits made by closing branches, selling the property, and sacking the staff? we, the customer, don't see any benefits... At least Nationwide are keeping their branches. Sugest we move our money there.
I like using cash. Its easier to manage and not overspend. I withdraw my money every Monday and I know what I can spend so no getting into debt. I am also concerned with the growing number of thefts from stealing your phone when you are talking on it to snatching your purse or handbag. If someone has your card then they can use it as it is now contactless. Uf someone has your phone they can aquire all your sensitive information. This new technology may be convenient but it is just too darn dangerous and invasive imo
I mentioned this to someone here in South Africa, but the lady didn't believe me. It seems like if they can't kill everyone on earth with viruses, now they are killing the poor and homeless as well. Since we won't be able to give them pocket change. It's really sad. We have a lot of homeless people with dogs....
We don't have a democracy , just because you choose what colour someones tie is doesn't make a democracy , you have no choice but to live under capitalism ,there is no other options ,If you truly want democracy then the people need to stand together and move these capitalist money grabbing ******* out of power and get a new system one that works for the people , alas though we are too far gone for that choice because ''we have never had a democracy''

I regard banks as a utility like housing, energy and food. I'm computer and internet literate but I still use cash. A local chain store has no cashiers, only machines, and when shopping there recently I paid with my debit card. But it gave me the creeps when I saw my own face on the screen. Machinery was watching me. I often see people paying for their goods with a swipe card and they look so satisfied about it. That worries me a lot. I saked my bank to takr the swipe facility off my debit card and they obliged. I must say I feel much happier having to use a PIN. I use cash whenever I can anyway.
Even my local Lloyds branch is useless. Each time you go in, they ask you to go online or use the app. No customer service at all. It's insane - Banking, shopping, healthcare, parking etc, everyone is forced to go online or cashless. It will soon become impossible to keep up with as you constantly have to remember or change passwords, update version of app, download another app, create another account, log on here and there........ no wonder people are so stressed and depression is on the rise. I still insist on cash!!!
Cash will be replaced with something, be it gold, or some other thing maybe a labour exchange for goods. Either way a cashless society will create a bigger black market, and less honesty on earned income so less tax, and more ways to barter for goods free of banks and Gov. All my opinion of course, but pushed people become resourceful.
The Government/WEF will eventually outlaw cash, making it illegal tender. They've thought of everything, don't kid yourself. They want nothing less than total control.
In January this year i changed banks and my new bank was trying their hardest for me to switch to on-line banking, they eventually gave up when i kept saying no. I just want a "normal" bank account and they didn't understand why.
The Gov states we are not going too stop the use of cash, Banks follow this up by literally take away the ability too use cash. So who's in control again???
If banks close more branch's then the govt ie US THE PUBLIC CASH should ask the banks to repay the remaining money that they received during 2008 or forfeit there banking licence.
Some times we need to call in the bank and speak to a human. I hate the internet and am computer savvy, but what about all those old people that can’t use the internet? They used to say that the internet and computers would make things better, but for whom? We old people want to use cash! We have been bullied into using bank cards. The only people that benefits are the companies and governments.
The strategy of most businesses is to cut the workforce and push the work onto the consumer. You become the unpaid worker for the business. Electronic scams are booming , thieves love this situation. The elderly will struggle big time.

Now this is one of the issues that the government should really do something about.
They won’t because they and the banks themselves are controlled by a man called Schwab…
the government should really do something about?????? No they will not do anything about its, All part of the plan.
They will. They will remove ALL access to cash and cash is the last anonymous transaction.
It's the bloody Government/WEF that's behind it all !
government does not rule banks...
Got relatives. With no internet,no cell phone. Locally no bank or bus transport . They do not drive. Are now helpless. Neighbours are helping . Stage coach dropped the route to the area. Only a unaffordable taxi available. What a mess. UK has gone backwards.
Totally agree the UK is going backwards it was easier 20/30 years ago to do transactions
What will happen when say the online banking goes down for a few days, there will be mayhem!
And you do know they will make that happen all the time... So we don't spend or go out it will be their way of locking us down without vaccines... Digital is down, shops closed, resteraunts banks etc the kit hairdressers, cinemas everything so they know it will make us stay in....think about it
They don't care! Nothing nowadays is done for the benefit of the public. NOTHING!
i use my bitcoins then.
why even keep your values in something that is hit by inflation forever, like fiat money
Yeah, and we said we don't want to be pub-less and shop-less, !!!!!! But look what they've done!
It’s a disgrace…there’s no ATM’s either…Tesco took one ATM machine away and the other never works….I have to travel over 15 min to try and get cash out …
Ur lucky I had four days were u couldn't and.half the places as well that gave cashback have stopped from the pandemic it's a joke worst is u could be at till like i.was the other week no warning nothing and card said declined even though there was money in ended up.stystwm was down three days before it wAs sorted out happens on regular basis
tesco = WEF
It’s the same in Australia, Totally orchestrated across the world.
Well I’m back to cash and now I realize what I’m spending I’m saving a lot
I'm 20 and will never stop using cash i always pay out money i never use a card. Without cash there is no freedom
Good lad!! 👍
If everyone drew their money out leaving as little as possible for a few months you’d soon see branches pop back up to entice you in.
One of the reasons they're closing branches is to stop people taking out large amounts in cash, because they have hardly any physical cash at the branches anymore!
We got plenty were not buying it say no and strike cash is king were not given it up more people i know are using it demand it
Why do they always say only older people use cash people of all ages use cash
Agreed A lot of young people also use cash. So the argument is here that all people use cash, including the young.
Because old people can't learn how to use the internet and they will worry them self to death sad
I'm 60 and I never carry cash.
@@StudentDad-mc3pu More fool you do you want CBDC
@@georgecurtis5371 Cash will never completely disappear. I used some today in the local shop. But generally it's far more convenient to just have my phone on me.
The last bank to stay open will gain the most customers
Even the last branches in towns are closing, so that no longer applies.
Nationwide are staying open
Nationwide don't deal with business accounts.
the banks are only there to keep a eye on you these days anyway..
they have no service left
Agreed and I think the banks are realising that. The person who used to go to his local Barclays to deposit cash had a Barclaycard, Barclays loan and probably a Barclays Mortgage. That brand loyalty has gone with closing all the branches.
I have always kept 2k stuffed somewhere safe incase digital banking goes down. Use cash as much as possible. Card payments are plain lazy.
The same ppl who say this got the jab ,and swipe their cards and do self check outs at walmart lol
Good idea
People in some area,s have an olderr population that still need to use the banks, but they still bloody shut, in bexhill most of the banks are GONE
These selfish banks will learn their lesson
They won’t.
Not sure how!
They will. They are a business If it's not economical do a certain thing, they won't.
Not before we learn ours first.
A guy by the name of Kevin Trudeau a billionaire try to tell people years ago about the banksters he said they are not your friends. I think we know the wider narrative.
You don't need a degree in theology and eschatology to figure it out.
Let's see if this email is wiped out.
Cashless means your money stays in their banks making them money. All for the benefits of the banks. We need cash as the technology does break as it did recently in our town and no one can buy anything..
If you can't walk into a bank to withdraw money, you're penniless.
Especially if the banks go down.
Boycott them , I seen them in Whitby and I looked at my dad‘s receipt and it said they take a tip without asking, I said we are not coming here again
Should’ve asked for it back, we never tip on the bill and get it removed if it comes with it on.
I’m not against tipping but I tip who and how much I want for the service that we receive
@@witlesswonderthe2nd883 I should but on the receipt it said we normally get tipped so we have took the liberty or something to take so much percent , I thought you cheeky bastards, I will never go back to any Business that does not accept Cash 💵
I had a weird experience in the coffee shop in London, not in the centre tho...me, buying a coffee with cash...about 80 year old lady said with wonder: "Oh...coins, real money..I have not seen those for a very long time"...while she prepared her virtual card on the phone to pay with...so me...youngster to compare to that lady..I was explaining how important is to keep the cash...👀 She said...ohhh, you got a point, I have to tell my friend....I was feeling like I'm the older one in this situation.... 👀🤷♀️
Well, look at how many old people took the injections and still wear masks. Overall, I'm not sure they're renowned for being deep thinkers these days - they often do what the telly tells them to do.
My 81yr old mum who lost dad in the last six months is terrified of it all and having to go to the centre of town to sort the estate out was a pain especially when we got there we were told to ting a telephone number in the middle of shop floor

Total control of what you spend .
Youngsters won't understand the implication. Its all about centralised banking and lending digital currency to corporations for the purchase of assets only. Mortgages are also only for banks, not people. Government wont get the benefit of seigniorage so the tax hole will be filled by taking more tax from you to compensate...
most young people understand that the fiat money system is broken, and it is in debt forever..
so no matter if it is digital fiat or cash is is worth less and less.
and other digital values like bitcoin or other crypto coins are better for the future
just like it also make sense for companys to use tokens and not shares on the stock marked, because the system we have is not always about supporting the small.
the stockmarked often lives from shorting stocks and killing companys for gain
look what went on with gamestop at new york stock exchange a couple of times, this time they sold 40% more stocks then avalible to people shorting them (they sold 140%)
only bacause the small man could rally against it, it did not go as bad as it could have for gamestop
I hate banking online
And what do we use when the power and energy grid is down? Tap and go only when the system is up and running.
In my town there are a lot of elderly people. We still have a Santander, Halifax, Nat West and a Yorkshire building society. These are always busy. People need banks.
Going to digital ID's and CBDC's.
Stop praising it, it's fucking worrying.
Cash is still extremely popular in Germany and banks are too. No online banking for me no way.
Does anyone remember Giro Bank.
If I don’t watch TV ( BBC) , Why am I still pay TV license??
Just wait until they have a power 🔋 cut or the internet goes down...no one will be able to buy food or anything
that is part of the plan
What happened to all the profits made by closing branches, selling the property, and sacking the staff? we, the customer, don't see any benefits...
At least Nationwide are keeping their branches. Sugest we move our money there.
Only until 2026 I think
Matters as a democratic society...we have right to choose!
We stopped being a democratic society a long time ago. It's an illusion!
We're screwed when CBDC's come in

they made everyone pay for there own chips with buying there ''smart'' devices, why would they need to ''chip in hand '' when it is already there ? (and cost the government nothing )
What better way to control your spending and let them keep an eye on your movements and they way you live
The devil has arrived.
There is a great opportunity here for any entrepreneur, open a bank that deals in cash, you'll succeed believe me.
The Government/WEF will eventually outlaw cash, making it illegal tender. They've thought of everything, don't kid yourself. They want nothing less than total control.
Try getting a banking licence! It's easier to book a flight to the moon.

We need a people's bank a nations bank that isn't privately controlled
In January this year i changed banks and my new bank was trying their hardest for me to switch to on-line banking, they eventually gave up when i kept saying no. I just want a "normal" bank account and they didn't understand why.

There is no banks in the town i live in, the government is going to make us go cashless
It will fail people will find other ways leaving the banks no choice ,all this talk is trying to get us to accept it.
Shops and businesses not accepting cash as well.
The govt is in on it! They are all WEFers! Part of the Agenda 2030! We have to stop it!

Cash is still 'King' over here in sunny Cyprus. I see wads of cash being drawn out in banks ! 😎😀
Cashless means they have full control over your money. Disapprove of the government will eventually lead into no access of your cash
Totally wrong , no more cash mean no more things bought or paid for with cash.
That way you will be tracked and taxed on everything you buy or sell in the future.
At least the post office is filling the void left by bank branch closures
