“That’s 53 Banks Closing A Month” | Banks Increasingly Shut Down As UK Goes Cashless

- More than 6,000 bank branches have closed across the UK in the last nine years, according to Which?.
The consumer group stated that the significant number of closures underscores the impact of this "avalanche" on high streets and emphasises the necessity of providing substitute services for the millions of people who depend on them.
Consumer expert Adrian Mills joins Talk’s Ian Collins to discuss this further.

First the banks, then cash, then CBDC, then total control over you.
Exactly
Don’t be such a tin foil batter you 😂 but for real though the prison is being built brick by brick - what’s so insidious is you can justify each thing as normal aswell -well cashless we all make payments on phone etc anyway … Ltn neighbourhood well that’s just traffic measures and environment …. That’s the problem it’s so slow . If they just declared Marshall law on the news armed the troops and announced you now live in 15 min zones. With different privileges based on your carbon output” people would “get it” ….. but cos it’s so slow we will slip into it
You forgot about digital chip if you don't have you can't buy

No cash, no privacy. No cash, you give up control and hand it over to a bank.
Do you realise cash has serial numbers on them? Banks, ATMs, Supermarkets all have to keep note of the serial numbers they take. It's also not illegal to share serial numbers.
Card payments are automated and encrypted. If you want to search transactions you need to know the card holder's date of birth and 5 digit phone and online access PIN.
No cash you become a slave.
Slavery wasn't abolished it was renamed job/work
Totally for there benefit, more for them less for the poorest amongst us that rely on cash, no cash no freedom of choice.
You are absolutely right.
How will the illegal immigrants get paid ?
And the lower paid staff have lost their jobs.
But i need cash to buy drugs .... and how i am i going to rob people , being a blackman

It should be up to the British people if they want a cashless system . Not up to the government or the banks we don't work for the banks or the government they work for us the people.
It’s a global trend all pushed by Klaus Schwab’s WEF
Not any more! We do what they tell us. !
Nothing surprising here, study SCRIPTURE and you won't be overwhelmed by the schemes of the evil advocates.
As with everything else, major decisions are made for us, and we're forced to go along with it
The market decides if banks shut dummy. If people dont use a branch then it makes no sense for it to shut. We should keep them open for a few of you boomers? 😂
The trick they play is that they start to close at 3pm, THEN they say there are fewer customers and then they close the branch.
Also the fact that they don't open on weekends. When they should as most people are off work then to be able to go in.
This is big brother watching and controlling you. Cash is KING, use it or loose it! For God's sake Britain wake up and smell the money!
we all got to use cash agreed. But the banks are making it harder and harder to use. Also even moving money in your accounts can be restricted buy the bank untill they have a reason to let you use your own money.
But bitcoin and other established Blockchain.... None of that has or will happen if I want to send someone a billion I could instantly
Try send my mate 5 grand from your bank ......or even better go to the bank and ask for 11.000 cash you be there all day.
Banks are slowly crushing us into a new system and it will definitely be worse then the crap one we have already.
Do some research then come comment back.
U.n have already got plans for people food allowance to be implemented by cbdc
I'll lose it, thank you. I haven't paid more than 30gbp per year for the past 12 years
It's very much still king here in Thailand, though I found in China that 99% of the time people make mobile payment.
It's going to go, there is no stopping it
Why do they always say only older people use cash people of all ages use cash
Agreed A lot of young people also use cash. So the argument is here that all people use cash, including the young.
Because old people can't learn how to use the internet and they will worry them self to death sad
High street shops shutting as well it's so sad and depressing.

Good lad!! 👍
when cash is gone people will very soon realise just what we've lost...numbers on your phone screen are not real and can be deleted at anytime...its so frustrating that people have become so stupid..with cash you have the power no cash, the banks are in total control...
The other day was in the supermarket and the systems went down! 95% of people in the store could not pay for there shopping and had to leave it, some of them went to the nearest cashpoint and that wasn't working either, only a few us in the store who had cash could pay for the shopping

im only using fiat because the shops dont accects crypto where i live
why use a system that causes inflation, when there are alternatives
If there is no cash, the government can "turn off" your ability to eat at the flick of a switch. You say anything they don't like and suddenly you are unable to transact, all acounts simply don't work.
When is the Bank of England going to change the wording on banknotes to "I no longer promise to pay"? Once again we were never asked.
A damn good point.😮
We are never asked about anything and we are supposed to be a democracy. China here we come.
It's been planned for years as many people were encouraged to do on line banking instead by bank employees. I was asked several times to change to on line banking but I kept telling them, "Just think. If everyone did on line banking & this branch closes how safe will your job be?" They stopped asking after that. 😂
They thought about that ngl
And it's all to put the accountability and security of the bank account in your hands , taking their responsibility from the bank to yourselves, so any fraudulent activity could be deemed as you authorising the transaction, now that's scary
We must fight against this injustice
Can't fight against Revelations 13. It's prophecy. We just need to make sure we repent and prepare
There’s 5 million people who don’t have excess to Wi-Fi or have a smartphone, so will government pay for them to have a new phone and provide Wi-Fi 😮 and if your bank is on your phone 📱 we’ll a phone is stolen every 5 seconds what happens then if your out late miles away from home 🙄

No thanks.
its called a debit card ! now get out of my country
The use of cash is the highest it’s been in 10 years. There was actually an article about it today.
Funny how this pops up right after…
Banks closing is also bad for small local shops. How do they get change and bank their takings? We’re all being forced to go digital. We’ll all be digital slaves when the CBDC replaces cash. Fancy a T-bone steak? Your carbon credit score says NO.
They can order it at the post office but change costs businesses as well as card transactions.
Big difference is cash can be kept out of the bank in circulation between customers, businesses and suppliers.
My boss pays his suppliers all above board with receipts cash.
Even the cash and carry are happy to exchange change for notes to save bank charges all round when he goes there.
I honestly don’t think people have woken up to the fact customers will be charged for every transaction once cash is gone, banks will want to make up for cash charge losses and a captured audience will have no choice in he matter
Local shops should stop dodging taxes and use a card!!
You are also being forced to pay for Nato funding in Ukraine , and for illegal migrants in Hotels , why did you not complain then >
@@Abdul_Rahman86 Clearly you're a mentally retarded spastic. You think Sunak pays taxes? Of course he doesn't. None of the people at the top pay taxes. So why should local stores? Besides, that's not the point, is it? Every time you use a card, you're losing money. The banks take a percentage of your money for every transaction. And now with the digital money, the government will control every aspect of your life. What? You didn't take an untested poisonous vaccine? Ok we'll block your money. What? If you can't walk into a bank to withdraw money, you're penniless.
Especially if the banks go down.
People will resort back to using bartering to exchange goods and/or services, like they did back in the Middle Ages.
It is terribly wrong for banks to close. All it is doing, is costing individuals and shops interest on the allowing use of these cards.
A friend of mine with a small business paid over £3,000 in charges last month.
No wonder shops are going out of business.
What about the small charity donations?
What about raffle tickets?
To mention two small cash needs.
What happens if we loose electricity and or wi-fi?
Yes, what about AI?
God help us all.
Amen 🙏
with crypto payment solutions it would be cheaper for both the costumer and your friend.. (in many cases it can be free for the shop and the costumer pays much less)
it blows my mind people support card payments
some of the monthly bills i pay cost me about 7 € per bill
with cropto i could have done that for a drop in the ocean
All about control.
So picture this, it happened when I was in sainsburys. The entire till system we t down including card only self checkouts, only people who had cash could shop.
So cash is king, end of!
The last bank to stay open will gain the most customers
Even the last branches in towns are closing, so that no longer applies.
Nationwide are staying open
Nationwide don't deal with business accounts.
the banks are only there to keep a eye on you these days anyway..
they have no service left
I don’t want to be cashless, I want to be able to choose. The cash I have in my wallet is mine … and no one knows what I do with it. No one. What I spend my money on is my business. I went to Istanbul in January … everything was cash because the economy was so poor. I loved it! Talking to people via an app is not good enough! No money for buskers, no money for charity boxes, no simple fundraisers for any charities such as churches, schools etc, no “Bob a job” for scouts…and it’s increasingly hard to teach children about money because they don’t handle money any more. This feels increasingly like control … the bank knows what I’ve spent, when I spent it, what I spent it on. I like my anonymity…I value my privacy.
Now this is one of the issues that the government should really do something about.
They won’t because they and the banks themselves are controlled by a man called Schwab…
the government should really do something about?????? No they will not do anything about its, All part of the plan.
They will. They will remove ALL access to cash and cash is the last anonymous transaction.
It's the bloody Government/WEF that's behind it all !
government does not rule banks...
I had a weird experience in the coffee shop in London, not in the centre tho...me, buying a coffee with cash...about 80 year old lady said with wonder: "Oh...coins, real money..I have not seen those for a very long time"...while she prepared her virtual card on the phone to pay with...so me...youngster to compare to that lady..I was explaining how important is to keep the cash...👀 She said...ohhh, you got a point, I have to tell my friend....I was feeling like I'm the older one in this situation.... 👀🤷♀️
Well, look at how many old people took the injections and still wear masks. Overall, I'm not sure they're renowned for being deep thinkers these days - they often do what the telly tells them to do.
I hate all digital because there is always problems with Barclays several times a year at the busiest times. There needs to be physical cash for a back up so many things can and do go wrong with digital.
What will happen when say the online banking goes down for a few days, there will be mayhem!
And you do know they will make that happen all the time... So we don't spend or go out it will be their way of locking us down without vaccines... Digital is down, shops closed, resteraunts banks etc the kit hairdressers, cinemas everything so they know it will make us stay in....think about it
They don't care! Nothing nowadays is done for the benefit of the public. NOTHING!
@MarekzAnglii it's for the benefit of the banks
i use my bitcoins then.
why even keep your values in something that is hit by inflation forever, like fiat money
What happens when the system goes down or is hacked? Then how do you pay for goods!
i told people about this years ago and they said i was mad lmao glad my money is not in the west anymore , get ready for a cbdc next
Well I’m back to cash and now I realize what I’m spending I’m saving a lot

I think we know the wider narrative.
You don't need a degree in theology and eschatology to figure it out.
Let's see if this email is wiped out.
Nationwide isn't closing as many branches as banks. It's up to the public to use cash and switch to banks and building societies who aren't in any hurry to close branches.
just change from any bank to a building society ,that is currently the best option for everyone , make the banks realise you are not falling into line . i also recommend the nationwide for those that are willing to make the change .take your money out the banks before it is too late.
Boycott them , I seen them in Whitby and I looked at my dad‘s receipt and it said they take a tip without asking, I said we are not coming here again
Should’ve asked for it back, we never tip on the bill and get it removed if it comes with it on.
I’m not against tipping but I tip who and how much I want for the service that we receive
@@witlesswonderthe2nd883 I should but on the receipt it said we normally get tipped so we have took the liberty or something to take so much percent , I thought you cheeky bastards, I will never go back to any Business that does not accept Cash 💵
If everyone drew their money out leaving as little as possible for a few months you’d soon see branches pop back up to entice you in.
One of the reasons they're closing branches is to stop people taking out large amounts in cash, because they have hardly any physical cash at the branches anymore!
Total control of what you spend .
People in some area,s have an olderr population that still need to use the banks, but they still bloody shut, in bexhill most of the banks are GONE
They save money shutting banks so please pass the savings on 😂
The savings turn into profits for the shareholders.
Youngsters won't understand the implication. Its all about centralised banking and lending digital currency to corporations for the purchase of assets only. Mortgages are also only for banks, not people. Government wont get the benefit of seigniorage so the tax hole will be filled by taking more tax from you to compensate...
most young people understand that the fiat money system is broken, and it is in debt forever..
so no matter if it is digital fiat or cash is is worth less and less.
and other digital values like bitcoin or other crypto coins are better for the future
just like it also make sense for companys to use tokens and not shares on the stock marked, because the system we have is not always about supporting the small.
the stockmarked often lives from shorting stocks and killing companys for gain
look what went on with gamestop at new york stock exchange a couple of times, this time they sold 40% more stocks then avalible to people shorting them (they sold 140%)
only bacause the small man could rally against it, it did not go as bad as it could have for gamestop
Matters as a democratic society...we have right to choose!
We stopped being a democratic society a long time ago. It's an illusion!
We don't have a democracy , just because you choose what colour someones tie is doesn't make a democracy , you have no choice but to live under capitalism ,there is no other options ,If you truly want democracy then the people need to stand together and move these capitalist money grabbing ******* out of power and get a new system one that works for the people , alas though we are too far gone for that choice because ''we have never had a democracy''

What happened to all the profits made by closing branches, selling the property, and sacking the staff? we, the customer, don't see any benefits...
At least Nationwide are keeping their branches. Sugest we move our money there.
Only until 2026 I think
Even my local Lloyds branch is useless. Each time you go in, they ask you to go online or use the app. No customer service at all. It's insane - Banking, shopping, healthcare, parking etc, everyone is forced to go online or cashless. It will soon become impossible to keep up with as you constantly have to remember or change passwords, update version of app, download another app, create another account, log on here and there........ no wonder people are so stressed and depression is on the rise. I still insist on cash!!!
Cash will be replaced with something, be it gold, or some other thing maybe a labour exchange for goods. Either way a cashless society will create a bigger black market, and less honesty on earned income so less tax, and more ways to barter for goods free of banks and Gov. All my opinion of course, but pushed people become resourceful.
If the internet is down....they take cash then...

Some times we need to call in the bank and speak to a human. I hate the internet and am computer savvy, but what about all those old people that can’t use the internet? They used to say that the internet and computers would make things better, but for whom? We old people want to use cash! We have been bullied into using bank cards. The only people that benefits are the companies and governments.
