The film is great. Watched when it came out and at least 20 times since. It's such a well crafted movie and the history of them is really eye opening. So much i didnt expect, and that was the really cool part
That song definitely saved the album and kept them relevant. Missing Persons had a similar trajectory as The Go-Go's, but their second album was a total flop, and they broke up before they could even tour for their third album, so there was no way to know how it would've done.

I just watched the GoGo's documentary. It's a shame how artists are treated. They work so hard to attain a certain level, then the business machine takes them, works them to death and kills their creativity.
