Definitely put Go-Go's in rock and Roll Hall of Fame!! Great writing and performing!! I would enjoy if they ever decide to cover "Objection" by Shakira, if they want a great modern Punk song.

Two days for Club Zero? That is very impressive - and it is a really good song, it hit #7 on the US Billboard Rock Digital song chart - all for two days work. That is amazing! Most amazing - they all seem to get along now, after their storied history and the problems they had in the past. That is the best part of all.

Jane looks amazing with her grey hair. Her song writing on Club Zero was amazing and Belinda was in top form. I really hope a new Go-Go's album happens!

They were influenced by Punk but were not truly a "Punk band" ...rather they were New Wave - which DID evolve from Punk anyway so their roots are in punk but they aren't punk

@@cindyland6273 they started out Punk but did NOT REMAIN PUNK the entirety of their career. By the time their hits were released they had transformed beyond punk. Once again, they were considered a New Wave Band which was the term for all post punk music in the 80's. Just like Blondie, Duran Duran, Talking Heads, The Cure, Depeche Mode, INXS, etc. They were all New Wave...which was the music genres Punk had evolved and branched out into. Vacation, Head Over Heels, We Got The Beat and Our Lips are sealed.. ARE NOT PUNK SONGS in the way Anarchy In The UK, London Calling, I want to be Sedated are. Theur are influences and energy from ounk but at this point they were not punk anymore . Research before making yourself look foolish again in something you have little to no knowledge on. I've spent YEARS STUDYING The history of The Blues, Jazz, and Rock. Once again. ..when the GO Go's First Formed in 1978...they could technically be considered "Punk" however Punk
Rock itself was changing and by 1980 what was considererd classic punk had fizzled out but the energy and Alternative dress and anti authority Attitude remained and music made in this "Post Punk" landscape was evolved from punk but too diferent to be labeled punk. Eventually (1981) ALL Post Punk (music that wS directly descended from Punk ) music and ( go go"s includedl) genres were called "New Wave"! Punk was *at this time already so different. From its early years...so go go's were no longer "Punk" by the release of their hits they had transitioned beyond pure punk.

@@johndesalvo3969 Music is like Art, open to how one views it. Im still with them! PUNK! They've EARNED It! I understand you have this theological mindset and what you say is right BC you have studied it. Dont talk down to me and attempt to minimize my opinion. ! I AM SPEAKING! And if the Go GO'S say its Punk it is!!! Stop trying to shut down women in their effort, contribution, success and views. Accept it. The fact that you think that proves your closed-mindedness and lack of ability to comprehend..or compromise. I respectfully..if no assertively explained why the GO GO'S were not included in Rolling Stones top "whatever" punk bands. The Cure and Blondie also started out Punk but they were not included because...despite your stubborn inability or grasp this...by 1982 - 84..(their peak success) they ...LIKE MOST OTHER NEW WAVE BANDS AT THE TIME. Were NOT PURE SEX pistols or CLASH..PUNK!! CMPARE WE GOT THE BEAT OROUR LIPS ARE SEALED TO TRUE "PUNK" like "Anarchy in The Uk" "London Calling" or I Want To Be Sedated" ..no more "Punk" sou ding than "Just like Geaven" by Tbe Cure..another band started out "Punk" in late 70's.
