Like 239, its really a great impressive footage capturing the beautiful alluring plants that entice your viewers to keep on watching, thanks for sharing this wonderful and relaxing garden, stay safe always.
Hi! Happy New Year! 🎊. Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed the video, it really helps me with creating future videos. I am so sorry, but the red roses I never got the names of, since I got it so many years ago. The peach ones, I did include the names on the video. The first one I showed is Bathsheba from David Austin. They have such gorgeous roses! I hope this helps! The white tree rose is Floribunda Iceberg. Do you have a favorite rose you are growing?
Hi 👋🏻 Thanks for your reply! Ahh no problem…the red one of yours is absolutely stunner ❤ yes I’ve my own favourite one that I’m growing it’s called Roald Dahl 😄
Hello Linda and Happy New Year! You are so kind, thank you for the support. Aren't roses the best? I think they are so much easier to take care of than my other flowers and the reward is huge.
Thank you so much, Patricia, and Happy New Year! I am so happy that the tips that have helped me with the garden are also helpful to you. Enjoy the garden in 2024!
I adore roses and happy to see your in depth video which I will watch again. Some smell so soft and vanilley it possible to propegate a rose..ie to take from a climbing rose growing in the wild and take a cutting home?
Happy New Year! Thank you for letting me know it was helpful, it really helps me shape content for the future. I have not done it, but my garden bestie does it all the time and it works for her. I think it is worth trying for sure. Best of luck to you! Let me know how it goes.

Trust me, i had watched tons of rose videos, i never understood the process of cleaning up the climbers, they talk terms like lateral stem cutting(greek & latin to me😂) i always wondered which side is lateral. Your videos are to the point 🎉 & easily understandable ❤ You earned a new subscriber🫶
Thank you so very much for such a kind comment and encouragement. I am a home gardener and share what works for me to try and help others with what I can. Welcome to the Cocoon community!
Thank you so much, Paula, and Happy New Year! I am so happy to hear you found some ideas for your garden, I have also been inspired by others. It makes gardening so much fun to get creative. Best of luck to you and let me know about your ideas, I would love to hear about them.
Thanks for that info. I have been growing a Crown Princess Margarita for a few years now with very little success. Yours looks so beautiful! I will be moving it in the spring to a sunnier location which I think is the biggest problem. But will also use other advice from this video. Wish me luck!!!
You are very welcome! Yes, the sun is so critical, I have another David Austin rose that is not doing well because I need to move it to the sun, and had it in a pot temporarily, but never got around to taking care of it. Like you, it is on my list. LOL! Enjoy your day and best of luck!
Wow I learned so much! I love all your great ideas. I’m going to try many tomorrow! Thank you. When do you prune in the winter. Mine are still bumming and it Jan. I only have climbing roses?
Hi Elizabeth! So happy it has helped you... The rule I use when I prune them in the Fall is to make sure they are dormant so new shoots won't come up and die out. Otherwise, you can wait until Spring and do it then. Best of luck!
Hi Nancy! Any rose will do well in a large container, but I love rose trees with annual flowers on the base. They need space for the roots, so the container should be deep and wide. Go on David Austin's site and search for thornless roses. They will provide a whole list of them. They have beautiful ones, I get so many from them. Hope this helps!
Hi 👋🏻 Happy New Year! I absolutely love watching this video of yours! Could you please let us know the names of all the Roses that are featured in here..for example I wanted to know what is that Red one called that you pruned ? Love Puja
Hello! I thought I replied to you earlier and just saw it did not go through. The red one I have no idea, I got it so long ago when I did not keep the names. So sorry. The two peach ones are on the video, but the white tree is a white ice floribunda. Hope it helps!
Thank you so much! You have a lot of great tips and a beautiful garden. I’m ordered my first David Austin roses set to ship in spring, but unfortunately all I could get was the bare root roses. The one you recommended, Bathsheba, isn’t in stock now 😩
You are so welcome! I am so happy you found the information helfpul. I am so excited you are getting your roses. I have ordered bare root before and they grew so fast, so don't worry, they still do amazing. They have so many beautiful ones, it is hard to select one. You will love your roses.
Oh no, you won’t. Maybe I need to start posting on community so we can all keep up with what we are doing. I will look into it. You will do fantastic and love it!
I get mine at Wilco, they carry it every year. Hope you can find it! If you don't have a Wilco near you, search for the compost on Google and see if they can provide you with a local supplier. It is much, much cheaper than buying it on Amazon.
Oh, I remember the Japanese Beetles when I lived in Atlanta. The only way I could get rose blooms was to early in the morning, take a jar of soapy water, and drop them in there. I have to do this for the stink bugs in my zone. I never dealt with sawflies, but I believe that you can do the same. It worked well and was the only way I could deal with them. Best of luck!
Oh yes, they are so much better, I love them. The thornless roses are not completely thornless, but way better. A couple of the ones I am growing are Bathsheba and Margareta from David Austin. You can see the names of which is which on the video. Enjoy!
The peach in the backyard is David Austin Bathsheba, and the peach on the front of the house is David Austin Crown Princess Margareta. The rose tree with white roses is the Iceberg Floribunda white. Those are the ones I have names for, the others I got long ago and did not keep the name. Enjoy the roses!
Thank you so much for all the information. It is working for me so far, but I truly appreciate all the recommendations. I do understand such a good point. I keep the older shoots when shaping my rose bushes at the end of the season. I add new ones only at the beginning of the season. I should have been more clear. Best wishes to you also!
Melba what beautiful tips!! Such a relaxing video too
Thank you so much Heather! You are so kind. Roses are my peaceful daily joy.
You have such a gorgeous collection of roses!

Hi Melba, can you please give me some ideas what are some roses I can plant in containers with no thorns
Thank you kindly Nancy

Where do you get your fish compost?
I get mine at Wilco, they carry it every year. Hope you can find it! If you don't have a Wilco near you, search for the compost on Google and see if they can provide you with a local supplier. It is much, much cheaper than buying it on Amazon.
What is fish compost?
It contains hardwood chips, yard waste and fish compost. Works great for us so far. You can find more details on the internet about it.
What do you do about pests? We have Japanese Beetles and Saw Fly that really do damage, I'm in VA.
Oh, I remember the Japanese Beetles when I lived in Atlanta. The only way I could get rose blooms was to early in the morning, take a jar of soapy water, and drop them in there. Hello and Happy New Year! Can you tell me please what's the name of that rose at 12.40 ? Thank you in advance!❤️
Hello and Happy New Year to you! The peach rose is called Bathsheba from David Austin. It is such a beauty, my favorite in the garden!
I DID NOT KNOW THERE WERE THORNLESS ROSES! CAN YOU SHERE NAMES OF THOSE. THX😊
Oh yes, they are so much better, I love them. The thornless roses are not completely thornless, but way better. A couple of the ones I am growing are Bathsheba and Margareta from David Austin. You can see the names of which is which on the video. Enjoy!
Could you give me the names of all your roses. Thank you

Those are the ones I have names for, the others I got long ago and did not keep the name. Enjoy the roses!
@@cocoonraw Thank you
Love roses but afraid by sting.😊
Oh, I know Nancy... I have some that have such large thorns. But the thornless are so much easier to work on. Look into those, you may like them.
