Loved this video. Confirmed so many things I’m doing right and wrong. Question: I’m in SoCal 9b. I leave my 10 dahlia tubers in the ground. We’ve had virtually no rain so far this winter. Come Spring when the ground warms up is there anything I should do to check up on them in the ground? Or do I do nothing and wait for them to pop through the soil. Thank you. Love following you.

I may be a little late, but so grateful that the tubers looked so good even when being processed for storage in the middle of January. Please take a look at the exact process to recognize the condition of your tubers before storing them. I feel spring around the corner, even if it was so cold when digging my dahlias out of the ground. This was so much fun to do with my friend Harolyn, it made it so much easier and a lot faster to complete. She is such a sweet friend and so much fun to garden with. Love this video. It does my heart good to see your dahlias thrive. Here in SoCal 9b my dahlias have struggled all summer with intense heat. Highs reached 112 F this week. Shade cloth is my friend. Some of the dahlias that have survived are Kelvin Floodlight. Arabian Night. Linda’s Baby. Wizard of Oz. Bashful. Thomas Edison. It has begun raining nonstop this whole week and it is pretty chilly. But it is finally changing this week, and it is getting a little warmer and sunnier. I am so relieved that Fall is not here yet, we need more time to be able to harvest our tomatoes and beans. I am so grateful that at least the storm did not damage anything too badly and the plants are still producing. The salad greens are now in place and bok choy, carrots, and radishes are next. I have had boxwood in my old house for 20 years and 12 years here. We never had a problem. I'm wondering if it's the overwatering. I feel horrible for you. What a bummer 😕 😮

I would love to know what variety of tomatoe you grew? I grew two types, they ended up with super small fruit, horrible flavor, and not even close to real tomatoes, when I saw yours I was like "Wow, there are small bushes that grow real fruit!!: I'm trying to down size and make great choices! I spend much of my spare time watching dahlia videos on You Tube. This is my second year of attempting to grow enough to at least enjoy a bouquet from my own small garden. I have moving north from south eastern Florida to Alberta, Canada which is zone three. Last year I grew Thomas Edison from a Wal-Mart tuber, also I grew moonflowers from seed. They both were devastated by spider mites. This year I ordered a dozen different tubers from a BC nursery. Tubers sell out very fast up here so I had little to choose from. I am growing them in grow bags this year on my upstairs balcony hoping to avoid pests, especially spider mites. I am sitting up here watching your channel with awe and I admit a great deal of jealousy😩. God has made dahlias flawless but he has given you talent. I have never seen such an aesthetically pleasing garden. Your choice of complimentary plants/flowers, arrangements and ability to photograph them is both eloquent and expressive. I really enjoyed seeing your little garden, I feel better. My little garden is again being attacked by spider mites I was feeling defeated. I had so much hope, I was excited to see blooms instead I saw those little monsters. Your video gave me some inspiration. I will fight back. I hope I’ve caught them early enough.
