The number 8 for Brentford was my beloved uncle Francis Joseph who sadly passed away peacefully last week Thursday. He was not just my uncle to many nieces and nephews, but a father to my cousins and more importantly he was a superhero. Rest in Peace Mr Uncle Francis Joseph gone but never forgotten. 🙏🏽🤴🏾😢⚽️❤️🖤🤍
Went to the 2nd leg of this, we won 4-0. Watched by just 9,000 fans. Liverpool played a full strength team. Unheard of these days after a 4-1 first leg win. When football was good !
Classic! I was at the home leg a few weeks after, went to just about every home game that season, queued outside Kop as a kid, getting whacked by cops on horseback, £3 to get in, 30p for a programme, 40p bag of chips, £1.12 on train.....a great day out for under a fiver
@@DaveWallerLFC Chester to L'Pool on Mersey Rail was £1.12 return , its still cheap, was only around £4.90 recently, I was a teenager and remember it being £3 for under 16s as a remember
I'm not saying you're wrong on the train price. It just seems funny that it wasn't rounded up to £1.15 or down to £1.10. I think you might be wrong about the price on the Kop. It was £2.60 for adults in 1986/87 season, so unless there was a big price drop (which is possible, but a bit unlikely) I think it would have been less for kids in 1983/84. Either way, your point about it being a cheap day out is certainly correct.

I must have had even more dosh to spend in the chippy, I remember that season (or '84) buying a LFC sliky type scarf outside the ground, and a Norwich Fan, a lad similar age to me ran up and wanted to swap his knitted Canary scarf with me, I refused as I was so chuffed with my new scarf. Looking back now, I was a dick to not swap.

£1.12 is a very exact train fare! Was £3 the kid's price for the Kop then? I thought it would have been a lot less than that then.

Going from memory, I think it was £2-40 for the Kop 1985. Great vale.
