- Annapurna; the 10th highest mountain in the world, and one of the most dangerous. Over 25% of all attempts to summit the Nepalese beast result in a fatality.
Simon Richardson and James Lowsley-Williams are heading to Nepal to tackle the Annapurna Circuit; a 230 km trail that circumnavigates the mountain. Known as the best long distance hike in the world, an experienced hiker will take around 20 days to complete the route on foot; Si and James are attempting to ride it in just 5.
Joined by local Nepalese mountain bike legend, Mangal Lama, they’ll battle extreme weather conditions, treacherous single track, and perilous high altitude as they try to complete the iconic Annapurna Circuit.

Where can we see this after December. Just watched it - one of the most inspiring cycling documentaries I’ve ever seen. Discovery - money men destroying cycling again.
Looks incredible. It would be awful if these excellent documentaries suddenly just disappeared because of some greedy huge media conglomerate.
Omg how can we watch these amazing videos with GCN+ gone!? I will pay for the privileg!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Ive just come back from Annapurna on the YakAttack race.A brutal ride and we had better weather but with -20c at night in the cow shed like hotel at Phedi. Well done specifically to Hank with little mtb experience and not knowing what was up ahead. 43 people died up here in a freak snowstorm in 2014 and 50 are still missing up there. Chapeau guys.
This is one of many reasons that I will be so sad to see this platform go. Film was awesome!
Love the interactions with SI and Hank. Glad Hank is OK, that was scary. The many adventures your whole team does is unique and very entertaining. The whole team is amazing.
Another absolutely stunning piece of content from GCN+. Thank you to everyone involved. I hope that a solution is found so that more people can enjoy the existing documentaries and that you can make more.
I have GCN+ but I am wondering where can I watch this and other movies after December 19th? Will they be free on RUclips or are they on the gcn website? Or simply nowhere…?
They’ll probably hide them away somewhere on Discovery+ though actually they qualify of these is far too good for that channel.
Cant wait for this!!
just watched it and I have to say it is an amazing film!
Looking forward to watching other people do this! :)
🔥
Nice. I love the Annapurna Range.
But 5 Days? Hardly possible if you are not acclimatized to the high altitude.
Right? Three days straight up to 18k' unless you're already well acclimatized seems ambitious.
I haven't finished watching the movie yet though...
They were just in Upper Mustang a few days before.
Well, that makes more sense then. Even after slowly acclimatizing on the trek up with extra days to rest I could barely move faster than a snail over the pass.
I can't watch it. 😢 I want to buy subscription for last month but app is not allowed me.
😢
OMFG - what an amazing swan song for the most engaging series of cycling films I’ve ever seen. DISCOVERY accountants need to do one - cretins for removing this resource from cycling.
I love that with limited pack space Si packs toilet paper😂. Just take the plastic mug and put some water in your hand and wash the 💩 off. Then wash your hands with soap and water.
