Oh no! I lived there in 2018 for three months and back then that Burger King you featured near the start, used to be an awesome microbrewery that made amazing pizzas! Oh well thats progress I guess. But Skopje is an amazing city. I loved it there.

The instrumental piece playing in the "wanderer" section is called "Mihriban." It is a very beautiful and important Turkish song. Given the substantial Turkish population in Macedonia, Turkish influence permeates various aspects of life there. As a Turk, hearing the melody of this song in a completely different country made my day. Greetings from Turkey, cheers mate!

We all have catchphrases. We all use the same expressions over and over. That abandoned building you went in. Is it some kind of historical building? Did you find out what it is? Oh, and Ben, you didn't put the video link in again 😅

So it was just tunnels beneath the fortress, like a castle on the hill. Not sure what it would’ve been used for… maybe some sort of cellar or prison perhaps.
Also found some really cool abandoned stuff a few days later but didn’t record that day, bit gutted I didn’t. Was so cool!
      And thanks Mark… you’re a saviour 🤣

The name Macedonia was invented for this southern part of Serbia in 1944/45 by the Yugoslav Comintern and Marshall Tito because Yugoslavia wanted to inavde and annexe the real original ancient Macedonia of Alexander the Great in northern Greece.

@@jayloz2831 The above passage comes from Plutarch and you assumes that for Plutarch the Macedonians were not Greeks??? Well the Spartans were Greeks, so why does Plutarch state:
*_“Even though the Lacedaemonians (Spartans) had combated the Greeks many times, only one of their kings had ever died from the Philippic spears at Leuktra, Cleombrotus.”_* (Plutarch, “Agis”, 21, Greek original text: διὸ καὶ πολλῶν γεγονότων Λακεδαιμονίοις ἀγώνων πρὸς Ἕλληνας εἷς μόνος ἀνῃρέθη πρὸ τῶν Φιλιππικῶν δόρατι πληγεὶς περὶ Λεῦκτρα Κλεόμβροτος.)
Now, if Macedonians were not Greeks, why does Plutarch state:
*_“As for the lineage of Alexander, on his father's side he was a descendant of Heracles through Caranus, and on his mother's side a descendant of Aeacus through Neoptolemus; this is accepted without any question.”_* (Plutarch, “Alexander”, 2.1)
