Very nice patio Tom. The sealer definitely adds so much to the overall look. Let Austin know that his favourite hockey player was claimed by the Seattle Kraken last night in the expansion draft

Hey Emily... you know I'm STILL trying to catch up to this channel, but I want to thank you for what you do in getting these uploaded. I know the footage comes in day-to-day, with several projects worked on in one day... but it would be really nice if there was some way to keep all the projects at one property together somehow. It is just AMAZING how the work your family does transforms a property.... and it would be nice to see it from beginning to end. I don't know, maybe that's too much work on your end, but I hope you'll do this for your family owned properties at least - you know, Tommy's, Steve's, your Dad's... and if you ever do a project at your house... THAT would be cool too.

    - Your sprayer does a nice job. If always used the cheap plastic ones which had a small spray stream.
    - I’d like you to demonstrate a typical sealer application in a concrete garage that’s never had a seal coating. In a previous home I applied, using a roller, a name brand sealer. Following the directions, the sealer was almost sticky when dried. Maybe I applied too thick. I’m now reluctant to apply a sealer to current garage which I keep very clean.
Btw, I enjoy your videos and the team (family) that work with you.
    Mike from Indianapolis.

You have to seal it very early in the morning when it isn't windy. Thin coats. It usually isn't the sealer. Its the application time and method. Here in Colorado we use dayton superior j25.

I notice it seems you take the forms off the same day as the pour, how long is a typical wait to remove the forms?
Thanks and keep the videos coming, all are very interesting! Dave

Tom, when you “add secondary color”, are you using powered antique/ release and dissolving that in liquid release? Couple questions. Why not use a permatique in water? Why are you using powdered release in liquid release? And if you like the liquid release and poweded release, why not just put that mix in your sprayer and spray it just before you stamp? Let me know I’m going to try to incorporate this into our process

    • @Concretewiththehauses

You can’t use liquid release and powder released mixed together while stamping everything sticks turns into a gooey mess. After we stamp with clear liquid we will then dissolve the color antiquing into a batch of liquid release and apply you get a better color combination than the water-based permit teak you still have to clean the next. Before you apply the sealer.

@@Concretewiththehauses so that is to say that you use a butterfield clear release only while stamping, then when done stamping, you dissolve butterfield powdered release agent into the liquid release and then spray atop, just as you would if it were the next day with Permatique.
How about when you used rolled slate texture? It seems as though you use colored release when doing your rolled texture.

I started following you after seeing you do Mike Morgan's patio. I had no idea you could do such things with concrete.
I have to say this patio looks great and very much like natural stone.
I do have one question. Do the "expansion groves" you add have to be straight across the concrete or could they somehow follow the natural pattern of the stamp? Those appear to be the one thing that detracts from the natural appearance.
This one looks great, just curious.
