    I like the idea of having the ironing board up all the time but I just haven't the room. I try to do it 3 times a week so that the pile doesn't become a mountain. I watch the tv , normally something my husband doesn't want to watch !! I currently have a load of wet washing in the machine but it's still raining here in england, hopefully it will clear up when I come back home at lunchtime. TY Diane. xx

    I’ve been watching your videos for a little while now. Trying to catch up on all of the older ones . I really enjoy them. I woke up this morning at 4 am. Not in a very good mood either. I started watching this video and immediately felt better. You are so upbeat that you can’t help but feel better. I also enjoyed seeing that iron of yours ! I need to find one like it. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that you do affect people’s lives. In a very good way . Thank You.

    Wow. The eye opening power of the timer! I would never have guessed you could iron and fold all that in 8 minutes. Even watching you I woulda guessed it had been 15. You should name your iron 'Iron Man' because man! That's some iron! Turbo charged. Other people talk about what they do but you show us real time how quickly we can knock this stuff out.

    I’ve never seen anyone iron as fast as you! That is amazing! Apparently I’m a bit perfectionistic or just not as skilled! 😅

    Would you mind sharing how you use the flip folder and how you store your clothes? You mentioned the ikea boxes, which ones do you use? Your iron is so powerful that you can iron one side of the items. Which iron is that please? Who knew it would be so interesting to watch someone ironing :)

    Thank you, Diane. This really helps us visual learners. 😊. This is such a good example of how having the right tools can make a job so much faster. Even though laundry is one of my favorite tasks, I'm off to buy a flip folder. 😄

    I have a great laundry tip! I used to store loads of laundry in bins in every bedroom and bathroom, and then by the time I collected it all it was 3 or more loads, all divided by colours and fabrics. Now we put everything directly in the washing machine. (with the exception of something particularly greasy, dirty or extremely delicate, of which we don't have much) I bought several large laundry bags for blouses, or undergarments. As soon as the washer is full or full enough, I turn it on to wash, in cold, with a setting just a bit larger than the load size (so a large load would use a bulky setting) That way there is enough water to not crush lighter weight items with heavier items. And presto!!! no more multi loads of laundry stored up for me ;)

    I'd love to know about your iron, too. I'm in the market for a new one. If I could find one as powerful as yours, I might not hate ironing so much!

    Diane, I am crazy, but so happy 😍 Ironed all the shirts hanging in the closet for weeks. The one who hanging for months - decluttered 😜. 3 minutes per shirt 👍 Yeah!!
    And then I se the timer for a teatowel 10- 15 seconds 😍😍👍👍 - so I also ironed all the teatowels. 🙈
    Do you know - ironed towels need half of the place in the drawer.

    I know this is a couple years old, but I love that iron! Funny story, a few years ago my niece was living with us while she went to college, I was ironing a few things and she asked what I was doing. I said ironing, and she was "whats that?" She had never seen an iron, used one, or ever heard of one(she was 18)! I showed her what to do, and she said what a waste of time, she would just use the dryer to tumble and get wrinkles out. I thought how funny that was. She would actually go down to common laundry at college and put money in to use dryer for one t-shirt! Oh well, generation gap I guess!

  • @bluejay5531
    @bluejay5531 6 лет назад

    Hi Diane! catching up on your videos...awesome how fast you do everything..I was thinking that what makes it pile for me is not having any space at all...I do not have space for a steam iron (the ones, like yours with a water tank) and I do not have a dedicated space for the ironing board or for the dry liner, so it has to be folded and crammed in a closet, which everytime makes it cumbersome to pull out which makes me post pone...the clothes need to be hanged in my kitchen which is very tiny narrow, so I cannot cook/move around when they are there...the washing machine is in the kitchen...I realize all this is mostly what makes me not want to iron mostly (with washing I am ok)
    I need to find a better way of making it easier, but there really is a lack of space, just setting up the ironing is a chore...

    I've been watching your video's for a few weeks. They are GREAT!!! Question, What zone is your basement, and laundry room in? Do you clean the inside of your washer? Thank you !!!

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  6 лет назад +1

      Hi there! I do my basement/laundry room as zone 3 (which is the bathroom, plus one other room of your choice). I clean my washing machine with a rag every couple of months (the soap dispenser can get quite grotty) and run the machine through the hottest cycle with citric acid or vinegar.

    Hi Diane....love to see how you manage laundry...I really do struggle keeping on top of the putting away! Can I ask do you 'air ' your clothes before putting away? My mum always says..have you aired your clothes?? So they are completely dry and no moisture at all left in them. So I put then on a radiator or in the sun for a while to make sure. As the old wives tale says...you will suffer with rheumatic pains if you wear damp clothes...mum sayings..tee hee. But tricky if no sunshine..and don't want radiators on especially in the summer... sorry that was a long question..lol

    • @DianeinDenmark
      @DianeinDenmark  7 лет назад

      How funny! My granny used to say that too! No, I just put them away...for me, leaving them "to dry" was only making me procrastinate about actually putting them away! LOL
