Thank you Blake for this great review. You described the train and some of the inner buildings of the movement in more detail than I’ve heard on any other review. I just purchased this watch from a source in Japan now for the hard part, I have to wait for it to get here. Can’t wait!
Thanks for an indepth, comprehensive analysis of this icon. Initially, as with most long YT Videos, I was doubtful if I will muster the patience and temerity to watch a 23 minute of a watch that that has been extensively reviewed and written upon on RUclips and various other forums but after 2 minutes (when you broke down how the QUARTZ CALIBRE operates) I knew right away - Blake is on to some - you have done your homework. Blake you earned my SUBSCRIPTION and I will be voting for you come NOVEMBER 20TH. Cheers bro and Best Resgards.
Amazing Watch review mate, very detailed and covered everything. I bought mine roughly the same time you did November 2020. Has become my favourite watch of my collection. Kind of funny I’m not worried about damaging it by banging it into a door, i’m more concerned about the door lol. Thanks for a great review new sub👍
Hi Blake I know you have insights into the bracelets for this watch so I have a question. Just got the watch and already it's been digging if not almost cutting into my wrist seems to be the little Sharp design on the bottom that releases the bracelet that often is just digging into my skin. Can't find a comfortable position for this just wondering if they have any thoughts or ways that this could be mitigated?
Hi Josh, Sad to hear of your difficulties with the clasp. I’m not 100% sure I understand which part of your clasp is causing the discomfort, but perhaps I can help think of some solutions. One thing I have noticed is that if I wear the watch loose and below the wrist bone - such that the 9 o clock side of the watch head sort of leans out (caseback tilting away from the back of my wrist) and 3 o clock side of case rests on the back of my hand when my arm is down by my side - this will cause the weight of the watch head to tug the bracelet and it causes the clasp to sort of dig into the inside of my wrist about where my thumb and palm meet my wrist. And, when I bend my wrist inward I can feel the sharp pieces of the clasp sort of causing some discomfort near where my palm, wrist, thumb meet. My solution was to wear my watch more snug and to wear it further up my wrist - away from my hand - just above the wrist bone. If that doesn’t work, perhaps you could put some fabric tape of the inside blade of the clasp so that it is slightly wider than the clasp part that contacts the underside of your wrist and this will serve as a protective flap so that the sharp clasp doesn’t contact your wrist. This cannot be a permanent solution but perhaps it will help some.
@@vote4blake Thank you for doing a great job using descriptive words to suggest a solution ( i was able to picture what you described). I think I may have a solution also. The part digging is the little hook that releases the extension clasp when you pull the snap that says "Seiko" back. There is this little hook that lifts the pin releasing the bracelet extension. Anyway, unless the bracelet is fully closed for me (vs using the extension and opening the bracelet wider) that sharp edged hook thing will dig in my inside wrist. Now that I have the bracelet fully closed and not extended, that little hook does not protrude and then dig in my wrist. I will wear the watch higher and see how that works as well. Thanks again!
@@vote4blake (or any other SBBN031 owner) if I did but a different strap, cloth or metal, do you have any suggestions on what looks good with this incredible Tuna design? Many thanks!
Thx for the great review. I like this watch and bracelet and agree it's good value but I also there's something about the sbbn035... Wish it had the same bracelet in black but it mightn't be the same as the 31? Which one would you choose?
Anticipating my SBBN023 Golgo arriving today or tomorrow. I'm just soakjng up anything Tuna/MM300/7C46 until he gets here. Won't daily Golgo,I have Turtles and an Arnie for that!!
Another bracelet option is the Strapcode oyster and then add the Seiko ratcheting buckle (available new in eBay for $60). This gives you an outstanding bracelet - I have this setup in my sbbn033.
clasp is titanium I bought my second one 5 months ago its 3 seconds off thats way better then my Rolex Daytona this watch is far stronger almost perfect time and you can drive a tank over it I wear that last model tunas braclet because I don't like the new braclet too pretty my only other watch I have and will never sell either Is the skx013
One of Seiko's best. I could easily wear it 24/7.
Thanks for the show.
Couldn't agree more!
I just found a second hand one from Japan, not a darn scratch on it. Now I have to wait for it to arrive 😆

Wow, this is the nicest comment I have received yet! Thank you so much. You are so kind!

This guy's got a good vocabulary
Awesome watch, I’ve owned mine for several months. Makes my Submariner feel like a toy.
Thanks for watching!
Where to buy in the USA?

That would certain be cool. Although, I think I prefer the natural stainless color
I went back and forth between those two. Found a sbbn031 in pristine condition and went for it.

Ive heard great things about strap code but never tried one. Thanks for the recommendation
I enjoy my SBBN031, but sometimes the bezel gets really stiff and difficult to turn.
Sadly that's common.
I don't own one, but try silicone spray
I was wondering were can I find a reliable dealer for a tuna. Right now it's around 1300. I want to make sure I can trust what I'm getting.
Have no fear, any AD will take care of you
I just ordered one from a company called “From Japan.” They do great business.
Loved mine, but sadly the day wheel has become terribly misaligned (despite the watch being well cared for). Spoils it a fair bit for me.
Sorry to hear that
I like a heavy watch ,but would prefer an automatic movement not battery powered.
Thanks for watching

All very valid points. Thanks for watching
