    The two negative points you mentioned has something to do with diving. That's what Marinemaster means.
    The hardlex is more flexible because they found that sapphire cracks when surfacing and the gas inside expands. The strap extension is not for loosening your watch during a hot day. It's for wearing your watch over various thickness of wetsuits. They're both utilitarian functions.

    • @BlueRam788
      @BlueRam788  4 года назад +1

      Mark Vincent Cocjin I figured they would. I’d be curious to see some sort of written document from Seiko regarding the hardlex.

    Thanks for an excellent review. I just had the privilege of ordering one of these after lusting after it for years and this got me that much more excited! I'm generally a mechanical guy as well, but there is something so alluring about this movement and its specs. Sometimes, its just nice to have a grab-and-go quartz watch, and its neat knowing this is not just some run-of-the mill quartz movement, but one that was developed some pretty significant engineering. I echo your sentiments on the Marinemaster dial. This was a must for me as well. I also appreciate the size comparisons next to some of the more popular models. Wear it in good health, cheers!

    Just got mine yesterday! Your review is perfectly good. Also the background music makes it very calming to watch. I actually love the clasp, the play on it is non existent. If you compare it to the clasp of turtles, samurais or Sumos its a great step up. To me the thicc look is appealing.

    Such an awesome Seiko tuna you have there . I’m not really a quartz guy but after doing some research and watching videos such as yours I’m definitely more inclined to eventually adding one to my Seiko collection one day. I did recently purchase the Seiko SBDY055 baby tuna and it’s an incredible watch .

    I’ve had my tuna 031 for just over 1 week. Honestly it makes my Submariner feel like a toy. This watch is perfect for my needs “boating”. I’ve always respected Seiko but had no idea they manufactured a watch like this.

    I have the same 031'. Wears smaller than its stated specs - Seiko magic here.The perfect tool watch.
    Great independent review and I definitely agree on the points you've stated on its being very iconic. Great quick comparative on other watches. My only minor gripe, IMHO is the handset (but love it nonetheless). They could have opted to keep the 015' handset :). Theres a re-issue just recently launched, it has great handset and upgraded quartz movement but please note it doesn't have the marine master on the face of the dial. And yes, the prospex logo is there.. and yes, it goes with a price hike too. I'm with you on the MM on the dial. I have the SBDX017 as well. The MM on the dial is a must have IMHO.

    • @BlueRam788
      @BlueRam788  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching and for the compliments. I tend to agree on the handset comments, the other hands are more unique than these ones but over all, I prefer the looks of this model over the 015. I wonder why they are removing MarineMaster. The prospex ranges goes from the $300 price point to like $4000. It seems odd to me.

    Lots of great content. I appreciate your comment around 2:10 saying the movement is not like Ronda which is in 100 watches of different brands. A good transition from calling the movement special, I hear lots of reviewers using that word but do not say why it's so darn special.

    Watching this while wearing my own sbbn031! I agree with everything in the video, except i'll be picking up a strapcode hexad or endmill for my tuna because i don't think the style of the stock bracelet fits the vibe of the tuna. Great laidback review btw; excited to see more

    7C46 is related to 9F, the best quartz movement of the world. You can only buy gs to get 9F movement, and I'll say 9F is the high-end fancy quartz, 7c46 is more like a high-end practical quartz. If you like seiko, quartz is must buy. And in the tuna history line,quartz also the important element of this product.
