In my reading I've discovered that such things are often made of metal screens, when flame tries to go back up a tube it can't get through the screen because the metal absorbs enough heat to extinguish it. Would make this more compact. I'm trying to decide between this air pump method and ultrasonic fogger safety wise, hmmm

Nice job! The only other observation I would make is that the bottle holding the gasoline looks a bit "tippy". This might be a possible fire hazard. Both bottles mounted to a scrap of wood board would address this issue.

@@plew4528 I agree .Ive done the reverse of this to start engines to test them if no carburator installed etc... The water gets contaminated with gas after long enough and then your countermeasure to an explosion becomes the detonator... if you ad just a drop of petrol in a 20L container (sealed) and compress the air inside just slightly , you have a bomb. By the way your comparison to tnt isnt fair since petrol needs sufficient air (oxygen) to burn whereas tnt or gun powder etc.. has its own oxidization process. but that gallon of fuel in a big reservoir of compressed air = big SHIT! On a final note : Petrol where i live (south africa ) is too expensive to do this with...lpg is readily available , far safer and cheaper...

I'm aware of the triangle fuel, ignition, and oxygen take one away and you are safe... if you have a gallon of gas sealed in the house during a fire what will happen when the pressure builds? Engines can actually run on vapors... hydrogen gas can't unless it's tuned for it.... but add that to a small flow of gas and you will get an efficient burn... older model cars can have hydrogen fuel cells and increase gas mileage exponentially...

Everything is fine. But there is one drawback, don't do this again. Where there is gasoline in the bottle, place metal shavings or steel wool to prevent the gasoline from foaming. Foam is dangerous and can suck fire inside and there will be a fire or explosion, and pouring too little gasoline is too much

This is essy, but you are sacrificing efficiency. This is not an ideal way to run a mosfet. It is acting as a simple resistor here, and energy is being wasted as heat, which is bad for the fet. Ideal is to drive the mosfet with a pwm signal. Requires a couple of extra components but thats the proper way. Here if the speed is set too low a lot of heat will be generated in the fet
Pwm input can be generated with the help of a 555 ic. The duty cycle which in turn controls the speed can be adjusted on this part of the circuit. The fet will only switch the motor. To be honest controlling speed of a motor is not a easy thing if you dont want power loss.

Would not be good for welding… too much oxidation, welds will turn out porous and weak. Just good for melting, heating and cutting
