    Thank you for this video. I play with exactly the same grip as Sav and play a 5 yard fade. Last year I wanted to get some lessons and tried out a couple different instructors and each one IMMEDIATELY wanted me to completely rebuild my grip from the ground up. It seems everything I read is proof there are great players that play with all sorts of different grips. You're the first channel I've seen teaching players with a grip that makes sense to me and I appreciate it.

      Thank you, RH, I naturally draw the ball , strong grip, draw stance but then just move entire stance just a smish to the right which IMHO cases the face to be just a little negative to path which I projected that with fade just do opposite, move a littler back of normal tee position t possible create a positive face to path. This is why your video peeked my attention . Thank you for the corroboration. Will try out on range and let u know. If you ever do another power fade video, please include face on view in addition t down the line to clearly see what a little off center means. Great video.

    I have been trying over the last 2 years to train a good swing. I watched a few of your videos, the concept of which I instantly knew would work for me. I hadn’t hit any shots only swung the club in my living room. I played today and shot -4 for 16 holes. ( missed my tee time and joined the guys at the 3rd) I hit 13 greens in regulation. two I missed I skinned through the greens, the other I missed was the last but my tee shot went too far under a tree. I pitched in for birdie 3. 😏 I also hit the ball off the tee, without a word of a lie, 20-30 yards further than normal. I don’t normally write anything on RUclips but felt I had to say thank you for your really simple method. 🙏🏻👍🏻👊🏻

    Great video Shawn. I recently stumbled on your channel and I can’t get enough of watching your instruction. I love golf but simply am not very good at it. I can hook shots I can slice shots and I can rarely hit straight. I know now that my lower body is not as active as it should be. The grip that Sav uses I think would work well for me because I slice a lot and sometimes I push slice real bad. I jus think my grip isn’t very strong. Once the snow clears in Saskatchewan, Canada I plan to use the tools that I’ve learned from your video and Savs grip to see how my shots will be. This video explains the shot shape perfectly. Keep the videos coming I really enjoy them!

      This is super old school and it has never worked properly; the key is you have a flight plan, you have an intermediate point to help you deliver into the flight plan, then when you deliver your action into the direction you want to start the ball, your GRIP-CLUB RELATIONSHIP is such that the flight will happen the way that you predict it will. Please see “predict perfect contact and direction shawn clement” and “how to put the ball in the way of your swing shawn clement golf wrx”

    Thanks for this video, it was really helpful. I have always struggled to hit a fade. One thing I still don’t understand in terms of the intermediate point is this: do I set up square to my target and then try to swing just to the right of it to hit a draw or just to the left for a fade (right handed). Or do I set up aimed slightly to the right of the intermediate point and then try to swing square to that line so that my club travels just to the right of it for a draw or same thing for a fade, aim slightly left of intermediate point and swing square to that line?

    To simplify for everyone, the draw or fade is all about the relation of your club face to your club path. Open to path = fade, closed to path = draw.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад +1

      Chip and pitch more open or “neutral”; and as soon as you get into a fuller range of motion with a full activation of the kinetic chain, then you need to solidify and make the grip stronger.

  • @MarkSmithhhh
    @MarkSmithhhh 2 года назад +1

    Once you understand how to play with a super strong grip, a fade is honestly easier to hit...with a draw it's sort of hard to get the right relationship face to path for me but fade, just open my front foot and don't let it turn over...simple

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 года назад

      Awesome post! The fade flight plan into the target is the preferred shot on tour. Some of my students have to have a stronger grip with the fade as they move better through the ball and out into the direction they want to start the ball more effectively. Which means stronger grip! 👍😀👌💪

      Cool stuff huh? This is the power of task and the practice of delivering the task into her targets and allowing the anatomy to evolve around it. Her’s is the “throwing of the club through the “arc-blur” in the direction of the intermediate point with a nice attacking action that is easy to produce.

      @@golflessons Cool, thanks for that. Do u think the next stage of her development is to have the trial arm more bent at impact to have a more stable release? The theory I see around a lot is that the best players save a bit of trial arm so they are still accelerating power and keeping stability through impact. I find this helpful myself.

    With Sav's strong grip, is her club face closed to the target at setup or is it square?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад

      THIS DOES NOT MATTER AT ALL. What matters is when she delivers her action in the direction her ball wants to start, that the ball curve in the air the way she wants it to. We are in a dynamic world and that is the world you want to live in. The static “paint by numbers” world of golf is slowly and painfully finally starting to sputter!!

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад +1

      Hi Lynne! It is different than you think; what you want to do is choose a flight plan first and then an intermediate point to help you deliver into that flight plan; then match the set up to the initial direction you want to start the ball and then deliver your task-action that way. See “predict perfect contact and direction shawn clement” and “how to put the ball in the way of your swing shawn clement golf wrx” and “how to match backswing to target shawn clement”.
      On the premium channel, it would be “predict contact” and “the goldie locks series” and “match backswing to ball direction”

    Shawn, IMPORTANT QUESTION! 😁
    Very interesting video, thank you.👏
    However, do you recommend holding the face open through impact when trying to fade the ball, as opposed to allowing the same release feeling that you have on a draw?
    I have found that I need to do this as well as weaken my grip when I want to fade the ball, rather than keep my regular strong grip. Otherwise when I aim a little left the ball tends to go left, usually relatively straight without fading!!
    Keen to hear your response, this is really important for me!
    Cheers, Pete

    One other possibility for why Mu's ball isn't coming back is that, unless there some misreading from the GC Quad, 7 degree toe down is going to be really hard to overcome.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 года назад +1

      Not at all! This is a major misconception!! I have several top amateurs here at the club who have this very same case! They draw at will and never push the ball; one is a classic puller when missing the shot which is focus based. He went to TXG to get it corrected and could absolutely not hit the ball with jis corrected clubs at 4 degrees up which brought him to 3 degrees toe down; an ABSOLUTE DISASTER!! Please wipe these misconceptions from your mind, they are now officially in the past.

    I kicked a ball once in my life. He insulted my wife.She spit tobacco in his eye and kicked him with her combat boots .Speaking of balls tomorrow I will embark on my mission to purchase some golfballs. Two boxes should be fine for my upcoming golf trip. All manufacturers have the same claims. We have all heard these claims long ,soft and low spin blah, blah,blah. Should I just go to my local golf store plunk down the $80. and walk out with two boxes of prov1's ? Welp my question is why in the heck don't we have ball fitting programs. I'm sure there is a perfect ball for every swing speed out there. There are definitely differences in feel and performance. The problem is they want to market to the masses. The second issue is there is little money to be made. I wonder how they would react if I showed up with my golf clubs at the nearest golf store and asked to be fit for a box of golfballs. I would probably need to take my wife with me for intimidation purposes. All four hundred pounds of her all whiskeyed up. Great video !
