Hey everyone! In an effort to be fully transparent - I forgot to explicitly say this in the video but Hotones DID send me this unit to review. I do get to keep this unit but no money exchanged hands and I was not paid to say anything positive about this unit. I genuinely enjoy this unit, found it easy to use, and REALLY like the tones that I get from this. Honestly - it may be my new favorite budget piece of gear.

With the ability for Tone Catching now I think it makes this a no brainer (wrote that before u said it in vid). Ive struggled to get a non fizzy hi gain tone really but by simply doing a Catch of my old Atomic AmpliFire 3 unit I can still enjoy the advanced processing while still being happy with a familiar tone until i get better at using the Graphic eqs. Thers a Rockman X100 Catch in the forums and it totally satisfied my GAS for one of those new MXR pedals. I owned a Rockman soloist back in the day and I cant stop playing using that new catch. last month i got the Stage II with the Press pedal for $570 on Reverb, now i can have the Volume and wah on the floor while keeping the unit on my coffee table. Very happy thus far.

Great review! I love anything that has a desktop editor. Not all are great, but I'm legally blind and can't see the screens on things like my BOSS GT-1000 CORE or Line 6 HX ONE. All of my amps have desktop editors for the same reason and was one of the main things I looked at before buying them. Little knobs and numbers on the back? Yeah, no. I can't see that. I do have a BOSS Gen 3 Katana Artist Head (phew!) that has everything on the front, but there are SO MANY MORE features using the desktop editor.
As I said, not all are great, but I can see them! If I put my nose to the monitor, that is, lol.
    Cheers from OK.

The headphones noise issue may be related to grounding. I have heard the IR-X has a similar issue because of the no ground being designed for working with amps where you don’t want multiple grounds. There may be a switch to set the ground on the unit somewhere.

I did check that and that didn't work, unfortunately!

You can make the patch name larger.

Can this unit toggle between stomp and scene mode? So I could set up 3 scenes then toggle individual stomps on and off within the scene, assuming there is no spillover\ gapless switching in patch mode?

Not to my knowledge! Unless I am missing something I found that I had to map the footswitches to the scenes OR the individual stomps. You can mix/match them (ie - two stomps, two scenes) and you still get spillover but I don't know of a way to go between stomp/scene mode.
