Not going to cover the second movie and the vampire messiah? The woman who turned and didn't mutate so she was able to keep her mind?
COGAN LOLLiNS Please make a video on the Angels and Demons From bayonetta
By daylights end
Stakeland is a masterpiece of low budget indie film making. The sequel is alright. The last line Mister says to Martin in the sequel really hit home. It was a perfect scene to cap off the series. I didn’t know about the webisodes. Will have to check it out.
Yes i agree i am legend with more people
Yeah I really enjoyed it. I actually forgot about it until this video. I’ll have to watch it again
A town that makes you check in your guns in the apocalypse is the opposite of safe, but i get the confusion you think no weapons less danger but it just means you severely limit yourself against those who mean to do you harm when they don't really care about rules or your safety... Never be disarmed.
I mean guns don’t really work on vamps and no one expects a working helicopter that far into the apocalypse. If anything more conventional was going to happen there be time to arm everyone
I agree. Everybody in the Wild West was armed, even if they had nothin' deadlier than a Derringer.
@@frankg2790 absolutely.
@@frankg2790 Not everybody was. It also means that non-infected humans are still dangerous and they have guns as well.
americans...@@frankg2790
This movie is seriously seriously underrated
Bruh at first the title had me thinking there were vampires in The Walking Dead franchise. 🤦♂️LHM on myself I'm thinking the humans in that world were definitely screwed let alone the vampires. What the hell were the vampires going to eat with most humans dead and or being zombies in that world?
Same thing I was thinking 😂
Same
You Lindsey Lohan yourself?
@@mattias969 lol wut
@@DarlingMissDarling Yeah, I’m trying to follow too. You mean like a Freaky Friday type situation? Even then, I don’t get it.
Honestly it always takes me all the way out of it when a wooden stake can kill something but then they can just shrug off gunshots to the same spot
It's not just where they're pierced that matters in the lore, it's the material that's being used. Just about all vampire lore is derivative of christian symbolism: wooden stakes, why it needs to be the heart, the crucifix, silver, why they don't have a reflection in mirrors, etc. etc.
And there's always the occasional story that has worked some wooden bullets into the plot lol so someone out there def agreed with you!
@@DarlingMissDarlingthis movie isn’t supernatural though
@@NeumaghAnonyou say that but Loven.
I think it's more that shooting them in the heart is more difficult because bullets are small and move at a distance whereas a stake is up close and personal. We see the first vampire is killed with a hammer to the head so vampires still have the same weaknesses as regular humans. But of course it's still an excuse to work some more vampire lore into the movie
Thank you for covering this underrated vampire film. I'm looking forward to your take on the sequel next!
I love the Stakeland films. Unlike a lot of horror films the characters were brilliant and I cared what happened to them. I didn’t know there was a web series.
I don't think it being derived from a swine flu really explains the pig noises, but that is kinda funny. I'm imagining some wild bird noise zombies for bird flu origin. lool
I kinda get the stuffed animals trap. Since the vamps go right up to it, it creates a predictable location for where they will be if they are in the area and draws them out of their hiding places instead of having them lurk and wander around more unnoticed
It’s not just a trap for safety, he needs teeth to get that booze!
Yay my favorite most underrated vampire series!! My mom who passed away got me into stakeland😢
I'm pretty sure "swine flu" does not make you squeal like a pig if you catch it.
No, but more people than you think are actually into that kind of thing...🙄
@@charlestaylor253 You prob watched Deliverance recently...
pretty sure it doesn't turn you into a vampire either bro
This movie was definitely a sleeper roadshow film, but from what I remember I think we fast forwarded through a lot of this movie. I remember it being very depressing, bleak it made the movie the road seem like a comedy.
Like in this movie everyone just fucking dies. Lol right when you think you find a character you’re like oh never mind they’re going to die like five minutes later.
This is by far my favorite Apocalypse movie, I remember watching it when I was 10 and ever since then I've loved it.
13:06 as a vampire hunter i can say that sometimes it Is counterproductive but at the end of the day it works
Have you considered covering Near Dark? It’s a fantastic neo western vampire film from the 80s
How old are you Jesse?
Let's put it this way son, I fought for the South....
I hate it when they ain't been shaved.....
Near Dark is so underrated.
Wish this movie was on Blu-ray
It's awesome that you covered Stakeland. These two vampire movies are so underrated and in all honesty they are both better than almost every vampire movie that came out after 2000. With the exception of let the right one in,. Definitely makes my top 20 of all time. And you should definitely do a longer video covering both movies. Btw 8 didnt even know it had webisodes so thanks for that bit of info too
30 days of night was great too
@@BoxingFan4Life 30 days of night has follow up comics and prequel comics so I put them in different categories
But then again so does let the right one in. Besides physical visual media these stories have full arcs beyond the big screen so I guess that's why they are considered masterpieces in vampiric lore
Oh i remember watching this as a teen, it was such weird gruesome twist on the typical vampire at the time
11:28 so I’m not really a gun expert I mean I live in the UK but even I know that if your dealing with something that can take huts and keep moving aim for it’s legs (to be quite honest this is probably just a good practice as standard if your using a shotgun) it will slow it down or maybe stop it outright especially if you can take out the knee joint this then give you time and space to run or makes it easier to finish off as most things are slower without legs.
The problem with that is legs are a smaller target not to mention they're the part of the body that's moving the most when someone's running making it even harder to hit for your average person shooting the torso is easier since it's got the most space
The book "The Passage" tells a great vampire apocalypse story...
Do you have the authors name ?
@@srb2591
Justin Cronin
I’m interested in your thoughts about “Being Human (U.S)”. They make some interesting decisions about the original’s supernatural species, & develop a pretty well thought-out lore.
Finally Cogan has comeback to RUclips
Love this channel btw and would very much so like a video on stake land 2
I absolutely adore Stakeland. I love your videos, so seeing this, I watched immediately. You do a great job.
I suggest you cover "The Prophecy". Its a cult classic. Its one of the few movies that actually gets Gabriel right. He is the prince angel of power, punishment and vengeance, but modern religion/popmedia have completly forgot about it.
There are also a lot of other supernatural aspects to comment on.
That's kind of cruel and a noob move for a pro to leave a guy out to turn. Especially, a man as sinister as that Jebediah dude, I wouldn't have risked a possibility of having to deal with him later as a vampire, even how small that percentage is, and just kill him. Hell, probably set him on fire.
Both of the movies were really good, even if they were very low budget. Good story, good acting and few plot holes.
It’s sad mainstream Hollywood can’t produce something cleanly written as this.
Will you do vampires and werewolves from Twilight? Even though I kinda already know everything about them😅😂.
Twlight best besides dracuka
lol please no...
That Morakniv you got in one of the boxes is a great camp knife, and considered one of the best of it's kind so hold onto it. I've always enjoyed these two movies because they went in a much darker direction than most vampire movies. The vamps are all out feral, and as such, completely unreasonable. The world they live in is completely filthy, and full of despair unlike some of the other post-apocalyptic movies. It really brings home the sense that even in a town that's doing well, it's still just basic survival. It's off-putting, and makes you feel uncomfortable, which is exactly how one would feel in that situation.
SL 2 please. Nick Damici is great, and these movies are excellent. How about that Larry Fessenden cameo.
100% down for a follow up for the 2nd movie.
Great stuff mate.
I wanted to do this type of videos about the same movies. I would love to see one on the I Frankenstein and maybe a theories series about the connection or hypotheticals about Underworld. Like how the vampire are not really supernatural but kinda are.
Never heard of this movie, but I gotta give it to you for helping me discover new movies and more about ones that I know and love, honestly I wanna see you cover some resident evil monsters like Lady D, her daughters and their powers and how it affects them, also more cause I feel like Donna and lady D had some interesting story ideas and also I would love to hear you talk about the hound wolf squad, especially since those characters have such interesting stories especially since one is from DEVGRU aka seal team 6 and the female tundra is a former DEA agent and such
I just checked your channel for new videos, neat.
Damn, def a part 2. Those poor people from part 1.
Love your stuff! Hoping you would cover Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters 🙏
I think Sake Land 1 is the Best One out of both of them.
Your videos are always on in my house, love the detail you put into the videos 🫶
i loved this film and part 2 was good as well
I watched Stake land a while ago and loved it. I need to go back and watch the second one
Not talking about the sequel? That one gave a fair bit more information…
Dude! I have been waiting for someone to do a video about this movie! Well done!
When you wanted to make zombie land but was a year too late
Let's go!!!
I tell you to watch this movies it is very interesting but it is a great one and I love it it's called Shadowhunter
I would love to see this video get a part two. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for finally covering this
Thanks man. I’ve deadass been looking for this for a while. I watched it long ago and never could find it again.
You could have a look at Blood the last vampire and the related TV shows. You don't usually cover anime and that means you're missing on a lot of vampires.
8:00 i actually found the website. Thank you. I literally didn't know about until yesterday thanks to this video.
yes please for part 2 and good job on this video brotha
Another banger! Loved it.😊
Thanks! glad you enjoyed, been wanting to cover this movie for so long!
@coganLollins I recommend the movie My Best friends a vampire. It is a comedy but the vore was fun and interesting
Great video man!
Have not seen this movie yet but after watching this I can't wait to....
Love how these vamps are the good ol' traditional ones, do wish they also had the traditional full set/mouthful of chompers, am i still gonna be love-watching WWDITS and IWTV as more seasons come along? Hell yeah~
I'd like to see a vid on Nosferatu, Orlak had a couple movies and kind of has his own lore outside his Dracula roots
Steak Land, my favourite BBQ place😂
Why is it with all these types of vampire movies blood is splattered everywhere? Vampires drink blood, they wouldn’t waste it.
Never knew of this movie. I will have to find it.
Absolutely awesome video and yes I would like to see the other video
I had never heard of these movies, thank you for the video 👍🏻
Very underrated and widely unheard of film 👍
I just watched it 3 days ago I was going to ask you to cover it. Thanks it was good vampire walking dead movie. About to watch 2. Thanks
Another great video😊
Definitely need to cover those movies.
A favorite of mine. Much appreciated
This movie terrified the absolute hell out of me 😱😱
Yes! Finally!
One of my favorite movies when it comes to vampires
I was wanting this one for a long time
Love this movie. Hope there is a Stakeland 3
Yes for the suggestions
I never heard of this show but definitely going to check it out
Maybe jebadiah was on peak adrenaline rush from the anger and fear of being a mindless vamp
Love both of the movies , please make on on part 2
The Night Flier
Loved both SL movies. A video on SL II would be great 😎
Garlic is toxic to pigs so garlic on misters stakes makes sense to me
I remember this film but always forget its name, now I know where to find it
FINALLY!
Please watch and discuss The Scholar Who walks the Night. No one has talked about it and I love it even more than the vampire chronicles.
Fun fact, Resident Evil Revelations 2 used the actor who played Mister physical likeness for Barry Burton
Yeah bro it's real good do part two of it
Yes, do Stake 2 pls
Still hoping you'll check out 2001 The Forsaken. I enjoyed the low budget nomadic modern take on the vampire stories.
This movie looks pretty good
I have SO been waiting for someone to review this film. This was a great breakdown and if you want to do part 2, I’d be glad to see it.
I’m not sure why, but you left out that Sister was a Nun and Jebadiah, Jr. And friends were going to rape her, hence his death. Ol’ Jeb doesn’t get this information, and probably would have said, “good boy!”. Then he rapes her anyway. Kelly McGillis should have been nominated for best Supporting Actress, as this is the finest work from her that I’ve ever seen. She needs a new agent and/or publicist. Martin may have killed the girl, but she was dying anyway because from the way I saw it, Jeb had cut the baby out. Then he puts Martin’s head in the tub of blood, which is revolting. I’m proud of the director/writer/Mister for not being afraid to go there, even as horrible as it is. Thanks!
do a video for bad moon or from dusk till dawn also you should do videos for the twilight series not a huge fan of the movies but would love to see you cover them love your vids btw
Anything with Danielle Harris in it, it’s going to be good!
My favorite part is when you say the lines that were on the radio 📻 😏 13:30 & 13:43
This is a brilliant film.
Stakeland 1 was really good and should be more talked about
Have you covered the Werewolves in Full Eclipse with Bruce Payne and Mario Van Peebles?
Yo you should do a video on the monsters from sweet home
Good movie sweet home alamba
@@sharonbraselton3135 can't tell if you're joking but I meant the Korean TV show based on the manga by the same name
Quite a thin plot. And the plot of Stake Land 2 is basically the plot of Priest, which curious enough, came out after Stake Land. It's like they wanted a sequel for Stake Land, and Priest did it before them, so they said "Well, fuck it, we'll steal it and change it slightly."
I really need to watch this movie
Hey cogan Lollins I really like your videos you should cover the comic book series American Vampire
Don’t forget the film: “by daylight’s end.”
Arcadia was the place zeus bathed and Pan lived gernan poets used arcadia as an area of mystery
Are you able to do a video on the series charmed the original one please
Saw this when it was first released on Netflix around 2011 or so, and it's one of my all-time favorite vampire movies. It's so we'll done. I'd love a video for Stake Land II, even though it's kinda boring and the pacing is really slow lol
