    Great video!
    Some things I like to add:
    1) UV light: some older fluorescent lights, even newer LED lights, do emit UV rays. (You’ve ever seen the Tomica car store displays with under shelf lighting, and then the package graphics are all washed out? There you go).
    2) reconsider what you collect. It’s sad, but now I don’t collect anything with PU Leather. Many will melt or crack and peel over time no wonder how well you keep them. Older MEDICOM RAH comes to mind. Some toys plastics become greasy and sticky and deteriorate.

    Big Nerdy, I've done a ton of research on plastic degradation. Turns out, sealing them in plastic bags and airtight tubs does more harm than good. They need airflow to avoid becoming sticky. I would advise wraping the figure in acid free tissue paper and storing upright loosely In a bin with vent holes drilled into them. The rest of your advice is spot on!

      Our cat just managed to get on top of a shelf we thought was high enough and sent my daughters entire dinosaur collection crashing to the ground. Her Indomunus lost his tail, her LED light shattered and the legos went everywhere. Luckily she wasnt home and I was able to spend a week putting legos back together. My Dad came to the rescue to get a new Rex, but cant find the same Indoraptor light anywhere. She may freak out when she gets home over the light. Some additional advice, store your figures/accessories in acid free bags, and not your common ziploc bags, or even bubble wrap. Regular bags and bubble wrap have acid in them that will break down your collection after time. Acid free Zip bags (polypropoline) cost a little more, but they won't damage your figures. It is what museums use for storage. They are a little thicker of a bag and super clear. If you've ever viewed an old ziploc bag and noted it isn't very clear, it is the acid breaking down the bag and it can affect what is inside it.

    Can displaying black series figures in box in a hot room permanently affect them?😬

    • @Nerdzoic
      @Nerdzoic  3 года назад +1

      It's certainly not ideal because it can warp the packaging. When I had to put my collection in a storage facility due to lack of room, I only used a temperature adjusted storage center. I would avoid having the temp above 72 degrees. The cooler the better. Also make sure you have a humidifier to absorb the moisture in the air especially in a hot and maybe humid room. Hey. I love your videos. I thought I could ask here?? Hasbro sent me 2 figures. One was perfect, the other was trashed. And I'm sad. I complained, but I don't think Hasbro Direct ever cares. I'm pretty sure you had the Iron Man set figures in hand and I pre-ordered. So I'm very annoyed at my figure being trashed. Sorry I didn't know who else to ask. I don't usually care, but my Iron Man collection is dear to me. If I buy it that way I don't care. I bought Direct and it's ruined.

    High end collectors use gloves. No need for gloves in a legends fig I'm sorry lol

    • @Nerdzoic

      that was more meant for older vintage figures

      @@Nerdzoic I get it, bro. I'm new and love your channel. I used to collect all of the Marvel figures since I was younger. Into the comics all of that etc. I switched into collecting chogokin diecast robots. Mazinger Z etc. They are a whole different animal from the builds to the paint applications. Honestly you might want to check out King arts iron man figures. Not sure if they have dicast in them although I think that they do. That would be a good bridge between what your doing now and Chogokin.
